Dude! the back pockets are gonna be touching!...Cool! Maybe you can just have one pocket right in the middle?
Apparently the suit coat is the most troublesome. My pockets on my suite are now a little further to the side than most suits.

You guys will probably get to see this suit by the way.

Ya know, I don't think I'd wear pants with one pocket in the middle in the back. If I did wear them, I don't think I'd put anything bulky back there.

It is Saturday and I'm back up a little at 285.5. I was out to dinner with my parents last night, and I think the French Onion soup had a little too much salt in it.

It is kind of a depressing thing in that as my parents get older, I feel like I need to take a little more subtle control of what places we should eat out. The place wasn't very good nor was I expecting it to be. We may have saved 20 to 25 bucks for the three of us over a little bit nicer place, but none of us eat out very often, and for the extra money we could have gotten better food and a much nicer environment (cue the screaming children).

I guess that's a little snobbish, but I don't really have anything against places like that (though I think most would have a little better food than I got yesterday, hell Denny's does) but I think in our situation (no little kids, not on a really tight budget) it makes a little more sense to get the extra value out of the extra money.

Anyhow, 75 and sunny today, so up on the mountain I go. For the time being the plan is to continue on the same trail and keep trying to best my previous time. There are still lots of stops and rests along the way, so if I gradually cut down on those I should make it faster and faster. 37 minutes is the time to beat today.
 
- I am finding similar "food snob" trend myself - husband really likes this burger place .. but all they have is burgers + fries - only salad on menu is ceasar... so I do tend to steer us away from this option ( makes him sad- he really likes their burgers..but that's all they have & burgers are not a great choice for me )... so it is a dilema....
- will just have to work on finding a new favorite place - with stuff for him & for me !

I am down from the mountain, and my planning ahead came in handy. A little girl and her family were coming down as I was going up, and she slipped and skinned her knee. She cried but not nearly as loudly as I would have. Anyway, as I got up to them I asked them if they had bandaids. They said "no" and so I busted out my brand new first aid kit, and gave them an alcohol swab and a few band aids. They thanked me profusely and said they will definitely be packing one next time, and I went about my trek. I thought she would cost me my chance at breaking my 37 minutes, but I managed to push it at the top and make it in 35:55.

Anyway, I have settled on my 100 pounds lost reward gift for myself: I'm going to get my first smart phone. I have never really needed one, and I still don't but everyone has one now and I don't want to seem like an oddball for having a weird little relic of a flip phone. It will be nice to have internet everywhere I go (so I can some on here and annoy you twice as often) and the map part will be especially nice.

Two questions: 1) Do you have to pass an IQ test to get a smart phone? 2) Any strongly held beliefs about iPhone vs Android? Not really an Apple guy, but I'm not anti-Apple either.
 
I absolutely LOVE my iPhone & had never used an Apple anything before. I'm 59 & have got used to it easily so you, being obviously a smart cookie, will do the same! Great going on the hike! Cheers, Cate
 
My cell phone is so old it uses 2 D-cell batteries!

Seriously, I am WAAAY behind the technological curve when it comes to phones. I know they're cool. I know they're really useful. But I am just too darned stubborn to change now. Besides, I don't like being tethered to the rest of my life by it.

For what it's worth, a buddy of mine switched from his I-phone to a Samsung Galaxy some time ago, and he LOVES it. The size and the apps seemed to be the big winning points for him.

284.5 Sunday morning.

No workout today, it's my long needed day of rest. Housecleaning day as well. So I guess I will get some level of exercise.

Lately my complex has become quite noisy and it's starting to motivate me into wanting to move. I love my neighborhood generally, but this particular corner of it has had a few issues, what with the bicycle and doormat thefts. :)
 
We'll call it 283.75 to start off the new week.

No personal training today, and considering taking a second straight day off from working out. Muscles need recovery time and all that.

The first three baseball games are this Friday, though all would involve a car trip of at least half an hour (though one is right near the parents' house, so I could multi task). But then a full slate on Saturday with a couple closer by.

Also going to try a new food experiment tonight: chicken teriyaki!

Isnt it great that baseball is here? My sons are finally old enough that I have them both on the High School team. Little league is behind me. Except 6th grade daughters softball.
 
Good job on the scales this morning and enjoy your day off. Sometimes those are needed!
