Looking to lose an extra human I apparently picked up along the way

That's a 2010 article in the Yale Journal of Biological Medicine that says that artificial sweetners increase appetite and weight in human studies and rodent models. It has a lot more to say than that, but none of it positive.

I need to cut back too. It would also cut down on my caffeine intake as I drink the sugar free energy drinks which are terrible for you and very spendy.

Man I just had a grilled ham and cheese sandwich that tasted just like heaven (not that I'll ever know). About 85 calories on the butter, 160 on the bread, 80 on the cheese, 120 on the ham (which is a lot of ham) and then maybe 5 tops for the mustard. 450 calories of blue collar goodness. Amazing out of all the stuff on that thing, the two slices of bread had the most calories. Not really surprising though.

Why don't I have that more often. Beats ol' Chef Boyardee any day.

Workout stats: 24 minutes and 42 seconds. Average heart rate = 153. Max heart rate = 172. Calories by my watch = 734, calories by equation = 452. I do have to adjust my weight on my watch though as it still says 300 pounds.

My trainer was a little surprised when I told him my average heart rate but I feel fine. I have to get a scrip re-filled by the end of this month, so maybe I'll have the doc give me a once over while there just to make sure.

:D love the blue collar goodness. I make a similar thing...it was called a Misto at a Brazilian Bakery/Deli I used to go to. Small hoagie roll cut open and buttered, 2 slices of provolone cheese and 2 slices of boar's head ovengold turkey. The real misto has ham on it too, but I do not eat pork so.... anyways you bake this @ 350 degrees for approx 5 mins and smash it flat when it is done. SO.freekin.good :D

Excellent work on the workout!

Mr. Vee got to me too. Last night I made a toasted hoagie sandwich with turkey breast, cheese, mustard, jalapenos, and sambal oelek (in case it wasn't hot enough). No butter kept it within my calories for the day.

297 this morning and now back from the health club.

At the club they were handing out coupons for a free meal at My Fit Foods (they're apparently a Texas outfit that has branched westward), so I just grabbed my free lunch. Had to hear a short spiel, but I was prepared for that since "there is no such thing as a free lunch." Cooking now, haven't tasted it yet.

Not in the best of moods emotionally, but that will pass eventually. Part and parcel of being me. The lows ain't so good but I try and deal with them by working. My job engages my mind so thoroughly that it prevents my mind from stewing on unproductive thoughts.

Tasted the free lunch. It was okay, and certainly a bit healthier than a burger or hot dogs or something. Was a chicken breast thingy with potatoes and green beans. They have the nutritional info on the back and it was 340 calories. Low fat and high in protein, but as what often happens when they try and jazz up low fat and low sugar foods, they jacked up the spices and so it was high in sodium. I've had worse lunches. But the prices look absurdly high for a 340 calorie meal you have to cook yourself, so I'm not sure how often I'll go.

Hey,
I hope you cheer up soon! I had a bad day too yesterday. It was gone by this morning.
well done on opting for the healthier option for lunch! & least it was free. I agree though "healthy option" food is sooooo expensive - you are better off making your own!!

Have a smiley day! :)

Cheer up, Mister! We all have our days. Hey, at least you got a free lunch!

On a side note.. I want that baby stoat!!! I have a weakness for furry little creatures.

If you cheer up Mr Vee, i'll try to too! Is it a deal?

Speaking of deals you could have a bet on whether Lance Armstrong says 'they forced me to take drugs' in his Oprah interview. The media is going crazy about it here, when there is no actual news to report... the media is sometimes so dumb.

295.5 this morning. I believe that's a new low by half a pound.

Thanks for the support guys. I'm feeling a little better this morning. It's just something I have to go through periodically. It was a little scarier when I was younger when I didn't know what the hell was going on, but now I do so it's easier to deal with. I'll be fine by Friday unless something really good happens in which case I'll be fine whenever that happens.

I warned you in the very first post in the diary that I was crazy. :D

Personal training in a little bit. Think I'll make myself an omelet rather than going the cold cereal route this morning. Bacon makes everything better!
