Looking to lose an extra human I apparently picked up along the way

Congratulations! I've had good luck with Alfani in the past. I have a couple shirts waiting for me in the closet that I bought when I crash dieted last year.

I did some future shopping while waiting on the wife a couple nights ago. A store I never shop at because they don't carry the extended sizes and I'm seeing nice stuff once I get to the point where I can shop off the rack. I saved one 4XLT tee from when I weighed 400. When I don't feel good about my progress I'll put it on.

Good luck shooting hoops!

Have I mentioned how nice it feels to walk into a normal store and buy something? :D Not everywhere carries 2X though, but I'll be down to XL soon enough.

i totally get that! It's amazing :) You are doing awesome & you 'll be soon down to size XL.
Store sizes vary though, especially between countries. I have a sister, my husband described her as "she is a tiny little thing" - she is really slim - but in Italy size large was small for her & they made her try on extra large!!! She was freaking out lol.

Keep up the good work!

You're doing so awesome! Don't worry about that 'gain' after a superbowl party. It's probably water weight from sodium, it'll be gone before you know it!

290 this morning.

No personal training today. Checking the weather and it looks much nicer today than Saturday's forecast, so maybe I'll hit the mountain today and the gym on Saturday rather than the other way around.

A graph of my model and the actual weight readings:

Is your model data from that link you sent me?

Either way, your losses relative to the model are excellent! Keep it up, MrVee.

I like the graph. You have not had many fluxuations. Your rate of loss has been really consistant...That shows your ability to maintain commitment! Also you will find that most stores carry 2X. That is one of those tiny victories that keep us going!

Sometimes the little victories feel surprisingly good.

I know what you mean, in Cyprus its soooo difficult to find anything bigger than a 14, so I'm forced to buy from a store in the UK that sells 14 and up clothes. I can't wait to walk into a store here and buy off the rack!!

You are really doing great Mr Vee!!

289.5 this morning on weigh in day. At least it's down a half pound from yesterday.

A friend of mine retired yesterday. He had been with me for the majority of my journey, joining me two months after I started. You guys met him once. He probably should have retired long ago, but he had two surgeries just to keep him doing his job. Ultimately though, no further surgeries were going to solve the problem, and so he finally had to call it quits. My friend I salute you!

Regards & well wishes to your friend MrVee - he sounds ike a very dedicated and earnest person. - it's good to have someone along-side on your journey- support & critique- both are good !

Good work on making it to the "shopping in normal folks stores".... a real feeling of new freedom ?.... so neat when all that hard work is making Real changes in your daily life....

...no worries on the pulled-pork effect on your scale... I survived my post-vancouver-fun-with-beer weight... U will have the pulled-pork-effect gone in no time -

You should hang on to him. Write dates on the first and last holes with a paint pen. Maybe get a display for it. Loosing a belts worth is super awesome! If you don't want to keep it, throw it in as a bonus to whoever buys your jacket.

...oops. Your "old friend" is your Belt... argh...wondered what that picture was... & I agree with Quercus -- keep as a souvenir- a "war trophy"...of where U where & how far U have come...

Retiring a belt! That's way better than reclaiming a belt loop...
Now let us all have. Moment of silence for MrVee's belt......

Hey just like Maryann I thought it was a real person!!
I love that you have something inspiring to say every day :)

Had to get my suit (bought in early September) taken in today for my trip at the end of the month. Eight inches off the pants' waist since early September (54 to 46). The coat needs significant alterations too, as well as the legs being taken in on the pants.

The bad news is that this is pretty much the end of the line for me and the suit. Really can't be taken in more than this. I suppose I can sell it resale, but since it's been taken in I don't know how much I'd get for it.

Guys, do me a favor. When I get down to 185, do not let me sit here and start to do the accounting on how much money this is all going to cost me. I realize it's money that's obscenely well spent, but "sticker shock" is not a rational reaction. Well I guess once I'm thin, I can shop at the Salvation Army store and still look good. :D

I suspect tomorrow's weigh in will be much improved.

LOL, you make me laugh!! Well enjoy the feeling of shrinking and having to make your clothes smaller - I love again that my smaller clothes are starting to fit - never got rid of them and kept them in boxes.

1. You will live longer so you can make more money.
2. Way less Dr. visits and health issues to pay for.
3. You wont be wasting money on fast food.
4. Way more of the smaller sizes at good will.
and Finally......The new fit you will make that good will suit look great!

there ya go buddy...chew on that a while!

Alright, internet issues (my belt isn't the only who decided to retire, Mr. Router also turned in his retirement papers today) kept me from posting this morning, but this morning's weight was 289. I suppose a half pound a day will work just fine. Model has me at 287.9.

Supposed to be a little chilly tomorrow (53) so I think I'll probably take the opportunity for Saturday basketball. That likely means actual games, but as long as no one expects too much out of me I should be fine. I'm going to try not to push it as much as I did a couple of weeks ago, but if I do that should take care of the slowing of the weight loss if I survive. I believe last time I netted over 2,000 calories doing that.

Thinking that maybe I'll only do one extra workout next week other than my three personal training sessions. My body started to gripe at me a bit on Wednesday and Thursday (today it's been fine) so a light week will probably be of some good. Four workouts in a week is still very respectable, but won't be as much strain as the six I have been doing.
