Looking to lose an extra human I apparently picked up along the way

It's December 31 and the first weigh-in after returning from holiday travel. 204. All things considered, that's not too bad.

Time to get back on track in in earnest. I'm about two pounds behind where I'd like to be, so we'll see if I can catch up now that all of the holiday eats and drinks are gone.

My new year's resolution is to finally hit my goal weight of 160.

204, nice job! That's your low from earlier in December, not too bad at all! And only 2 lbs from where you should be? You'll catch up in no time! And I have no doubts that you will hit 160 this year!

Happy New Year!!

204? Not bad? Being back to your new low, after Xmas is great! I had a break from "dieting" over Xmas, but, as of today, it's time to get serious & knuckle down. I feel so fat & despite what the scales might tell me(if I actually got on them & looked!), I know I need to lose at least 5kgs to feel good again physically. I start again today.
Happy New Year V, hope you find the love of your life xo Cate

It is January 1, 2014 and the first weigh in of the New Year says: 202!

That's a new low and we're now getting very close to sub 200 territory. Going to try a New Year's mountain hike today.

Since it's not just a new year but also a new month, I'll post pictures later today.

Amazing, amazing job Mr Vee! Your comparison pics are always incredible.

I hope you get to your goal weight this year. I also hope you had a happy new year too! :)

That January 9 ETA for being <200lbs looks like a soda (diet of course!)202? WOWSERS V!!! Great idea going for a mountain hike. You are so determined & it is bloody admirable. It must be so good to have those comparison photos. Your eyes are grinning btw, even if your mouth isn't! Sub 200, sub 200 almost there!!! Cheers, Cate.

Wow, those comparison pics sure are an inspiration! What a difference since the last time I was around here ... Congrats! And thanks for the welcome back!

Got the new Sprite shirt! To be perfectly honest I don't see how you can hit 160. That's 42 pounds away and you look so skinny at 202. Awesome work Vee!

204 again this morning. Going to have to figure out how to deal with trips to the parents' house and their tendency to have food everywhere.

When I fit into size 32 jeans (at 36 right now), I have some decisions to make regarding contour surgery and the like. Whatever weight that happens to be. Somewhere between 160 and 170 is my guess.

Anyhow after the two hours of basketball on New Year's Eve and the mountain hiking yesterday, I'm a little sore so I think I might finally try out the pool at the gym today. If I could get into a rhythm (a word I simply cannot spell without spellcheck) where one day of the week I play basketball, another mountain hike and then another swim, I'll be very happy.

That's a great trio Vee. Swimming will give your joints a break while still getting in an intense workout.

The cost of contour surgery will be more than offset in your increased health that your weightloss and exercise have brought. You've avoided a lot of future health issues. It's kind of the ultimate "throwing out the big pants" too.

Wow Mr Vee!! You look amazing. I haven't been around for 6 months and your results are shockingly amazing!!! Well done!!!

204 this morning. Trying to fight this plateau. The plan:

Cut down on my trips to the bar to one a week.
Be extra vigilant when at my parents house.

That should get me most of the way back on track.

Mr Vee I also struggle when we go to my brother's house - they make the most delish food and I just have to kinda look the other way and make healthy choices. Are you still an exercise machine, seeing that I've missed 6 months of diary thought I'd check whilst I catch up on diaries?

Plateau Schmateau- my bet is you will still make the Jan 10 ETA of <200! "Mr Vee is an expert at healthy weight loss," working out & sheer, bloody determination! :D Cate

Alright, 202 this morning. Hopefully I can progress from here and start another journey back down the scales. Women aren't chasing me down the street 'A Hard Day's Night' style yet, so I still need to lose more weight.

Been trying low impact workouts since I felt a twinge in my left knee and especially my left hip last week and it seems to greatly reduced the problem. It also led to finding out that I can now do time on the elliptical. The problem I've had is getting my heart rate up on the thing. If I try and go faster I lose my balance and cranking the 'level' up doesn't seem to do much. I can get it up into the 120 to 135 range, but it's difficult to get it any higher than that.

Gonna try to swim again today, no worries about getting my heart rate up doing that. I will however scan the internet for some swimming tips as I'm very inefficient at it.

Tomorrow is my first personal training since before Christmas.
