Logan's journey begins..

I am also a scale whore... I either do not go at all or go everyday... several times... before and after every single item eaten and every single time I would go pee or poop... I know I know tmi and also, why would anyone do that?

Well now we do not have any scales, so I go to the gym scales once every 3 or 4 days and it is actually more relaxed. I am dying to have my own again, because i like to weigh before consuming anything in the early morning, but I have to say not having that daily number hover on my mind all day is quite nice!

And a pound and a bit in half a week is awesome! Way to go, Camy

I'm a chronic scale user as well... sometimes I'll forget to but I'll usually weigh myself a couple times a day. I know that my weight fluctuates so I don't let it get to me if it's a little too high for my liking.

Anyways, good job with the run, make sure you're stretching enough, and keep up the good work!

Thanks you two for the info on being chronic scale whores :) I will start with my 2x a week and see where that gets me.

So far so good today, little hungry right now, but will probably just wait till dinner and tie myself over w/ some water.

Thus far,
B: Slimfast
L: 6" Subway club on wheat, bag of baked lays
D:?
S: One 100 cal pack
E: ?
W:4 bottles thus far

Been driving most the day, looking forward to getting outside this evening!

Great start there Logan. Keep up the good work. Why the goal of 199? Just to see it under 200? I said that originally but everyone (including my wife and Dr.) said at my height and frame size that would be too small. I just think it would be great to see that 1 as the first number.

Ha, yeah Bert, that's basically the reason! I also can't picture myself at 200, nor can my wife...we shall see though :)

Just got back from a chilly 2.5 mile walk/jog, felt pretty good. Wife made some hamburger helper tonight (used turkey though), so I had a little bit of that with some sliced carrots.

Good day today though, looking forward to starting the "in the gym" workouts next week!

Your food has been super healthy! I always find it harder to go running outside when it is cold out.....I'm already ready for spring! HAHA.

Keep up the good work!

Thanks Adam, I'm trying!!

Today has been pretty busy, haven't drank much water yet, but I am working on it now. Same food as normal thus far, but have a dinner meeting at work tonight..so we'll see what I can pick through to get a little food in me. Co-worker brought in 2 HUGE boxes of donuts this morning, so I quickly walked away from that situation :) I know better though, so it was a pretty easy decision. Hope to get outside after this dinner thing to get a couple miles in...we shall see!

Peace out.

Dinner last night at the banquet was OK.

D: Small piece of pork roast, small scoop of some scalloped potato casserole, small dinner roll, cottage cheese, and a big salad

Exercise wise, wasn't able to do too much; got home late and started to rain. So I did some jumping jacks, ran up and down the stairs a few times, and did about 5 mins of a cardio row. Not much, but atleast got the heart beating a little bit.

Work has been pretty stressful this week, so TGIF is all I can say!

It sounds like you did AWESOME at the banquet dinner thingie! You didn't deprive yourself (mmm scalloped potatoes) but didn't overdo it. Nice. I have to work on moderation, I'll either eat everything at potlucks (including desserts) or just have veggies etc. Nice job on the exercise too! Every little bit counts. Have a great weekend!

On my phone, sitting at the chinese buffet with some co-workers, just drinking my water :)

Just imaging all the cals they are putting down!!

Good job at the banquet. That is the kind of attitude I'm trying to have. Do better but don't expect myself to be perfect. I was thinking today how they say people put on gain weight as they age. I have probably been putting on 5 lbs per year over the last several. Even if I just lost 30 lbs in the next 5 years that would be like 270 instead of 335 had I done nothing. I want to do better than that but just need to stay in the right frame of mind.

Well done, for being strog. But maybe you can eat like a small portion of veggies or something so you don't just have to sip water. It got really boring after a while when I did that and now I just chose wisely a small plate full of something yummylicious ;) like green veggies (ah choi sum!!! My favourite veggie in the world, especially with garlic).
Remember this is not a diet, it is a lifestyle change!

Well, a little update from the weekend. It wasn't horrible by any means, but we did go out and eat Saturday night at BD's Mongolian BBQ. I had a bowl with chicken, shrimp, and salmon, few slices of potato, and lots of spices! It really wasn't too bad, could have been a lot worse! Did have a small piece of fudge (yummy!) Was celebrating for my wife obtaining her Bachelor's Degree, so it was for a good cause. Did a lot of walking and yard work this weekend, but that's about it exercise wise.

I emailed our high school football coach, and he is going to meet w/ me after work to set up a weight room program, so that'll be nice. I plan on doing this M-F for an hour after work, so that will be a nice change.

Otherwise, same routine as usual. I will weigh tonight and change that accordingly.

Have a good day everyone!

Another busy day...ate pretty good i think:

B: Slim-Fast
L: Big salad, cottage cheese, celery, pickle spears, and carrots
D: 1 whole wheat bagel pizza (sauce, turkey pepperoni, low-fat cheese) and carrots
S: 100 cal pack
E: 3 miles on a recumbent bike, 10 mins on treadmill, a few misc. lifts, and 20 minutes of running around playing basketball

Watching the Biggest Loser right now, I hate a few certain people on this show!

I wish I had a TV! I am bedridden with a stomach flu (yuck) and without TV being sick is a lot less fun! Everybody talks about the biggest loser, I really wish I could see it!

I am glad you found something to eat at the restaurant, I just tell myself I have "calorie chips" to play in my pokergame of life, so if I use up a lot for a nice dinner in a retsaurant I just have to use less for breakfast and lunch. This way I never deprive myself of anything!

Have a great day, Camy

You are eating healthy and continuing to get in great workouts, congrats!!!

I watch the Biggest Loser too...I love that show, but I hate Vicki (I think that is her name). She bothers me so much....and I have never not liked anyone on the show until her.

Have a good one!

Thanks man!

I agree about your Vicki comment, and Amy had the chance to take her down...bummed me out that she didn't. Oh well, life will go on :smash:

I'm ready for this week to be over, TGIF!!

Didn't get to post much in here this week, kinda bums me out, but everything has been going well, and staying within my caloric intake level.

Yesterday I rode the recumbent bike for 30 mins (8.5 miles) then walked on the track for 25 mins. Felt pretty good after doing that.

Will be working out today too. Went to lunch with co-workers to a pizza place, and there were cheese breadsticks all over the table, but I managed to resist! I was picturing how much biking/walking/jogging I'd have to do...definitely not worth it! But it made my mouth water, that's for sure! Instead I had a baby spinach salad with roasted chicken, and fat free ranch.

Lot's of food opportunities coming up soon. In-law Thanksgiving dinner on Sunday, going to an expensive restaurant on Tuesday (6 of us have to try and spend $500, hahaha), Thanksgiving brunch at a casino on Thursday, followed by dinner at my parents that evening. Wish me luck...but I'm not scurred :)

Just a quick post...weighed this morning and am down 3 lbs from last week! Not the biggest loss in the world, but I will definitely take it :)

Have a great weekend everyone.

Well, 1 meal down, 3 to go! I didn't do tooooo bad...had probably a cup's worth of white turkey, 1/4 cup of corn, 1/4 of hashbrown casserole, 1/2 mashed potatoes w/ a little chicken gravy, and one dinner roll. Then I had a little dessert (mostly because it was a family gathering and they were celebrating quarterly bday's). They made me one of those single serve chocolate cake / hot fudge bowls that you make in the microwave and I ate most of that............but, an hour after that I jogged for 2 miles straight and worked up one hell of a sweat in the 40 degree weather, so at least I burned most of that off! This was all for lunch, so for dinner I just had another Slim-fast and a banana...more likely than not, I stayed within my calorie range, so all should be good.

Tomorrow night we go do some fine dining, so I believe I will have some twin lobster tails, which have FAR fewer cals than king crab leg, steaks, etc...should do alright since I can have a HUGE salad there too!
