Lisa's Final Countdown, The Good Days, the Bad, & the Ugly

You are doing great! 20 pounds gone and lost FOREVER!!! WOOHOO! Keep up the great work.

Yea, I hear ya about the annoying random messages. If I recall, when you actually sign up for this forum there is a disclosure about not posting advertisements. Why would someone go through all that trouble, knowing that they are not going to be allowed to post anything...

Oh... well!

Have a great Sunday. :hurray:

Good to see the weight came right back off, and it looks like your heading the right way for good! You desrve it.

ARGGGG I'm SO mad at myself. I took my trig exam today and turned it in feeling pretty good...I knew this stuff. I got downstairs and not even to my car yet and immediately realized what problem I screwed up....I'd only done half of it. The test was only 10 problems so I'm worried what affect that's going to have on my grade. I never used to get test anxiety until the past couple years with my blood sugar acting up making it hard to focus. Now even though I feel better most of the time I still have this test anxiety and I either second guess myself or have a complete brain fart and walk out wanting to slap myself. Most profs would say that I wasn't confident enough with the info then and need to study harder but seriously that's not true. The problem I screwed up today I can do backwards and forwards, even in my sleep...I guess just not during a timed test. Oh well ;/ Guess as my health improves this will pass eventually and I can get back to my brilliant self :)

Passed in a chem lab today with a brain fart in it too. I hear ya. Had all my equations lined up then realized I must have typo'd the results from the live lab... Would have been difficult to a compund made up of 4 elements when one of them had a mass 260% higher than the original compound...

Oh well, everything else has been A work 'til now, I won't sweat one lab.

We get to fix our labs and turn them back in for a point less...each one is ten points so I got it easy :) Of course the prof kinda has to cuz he's so damn picky about sig figs and docs us if we have converters somewhere he says we shouldn't.

Breakfast- Mcdonalds 2 breakfast burritos, 1 hashbrown- 750
Lunch- chef salad, 1/2 cup pasta salad- 650

Dinner- cup of chili, BLT- 571 (at local family restaurant)

Dessert- apple fritter bites (shouldn't have ordered these) my best estimate is 476 calories :(

Total calories for the day- 2447 (247 over my max allowance)

Well not great that I was over but honestly the fritters were worth it :X I just know not to order them again any time soon and tomorrow will be better. I always seem to have a rough day on exam days but I did alot more walking on campus today than usual so hopefully that offset. I just hate not having an exact calorie count. Anyway I'm sure I can find a healthier recipe for some kind of apple dessert next time I get a craving :) In fact somebody told me about baking an apple with oatmeal, splenda and cinnamon on top...gonna have to go look again for that one.

she apparently takes in weekly offerings to work. not all of it healthy, but I figured if you wanted a tasty dessert, she'd be the best bet.

So here's the very addicting puff'n corn I pigged out on this week. After googling it I found several people even blogged about how addictive the stuff is so I'm not alone. Yes I'm tired and bored and posting silly food pics :) Partly because I just figured out that I could. Partly because I'm just still astounded how many calories those apple fritter things were and was thinking I could have ate half a bag of popcorn :X

What? Problem with food? Who ME? lol

So, are you trying to get us all addicted? LOL...
Here is a wonderful recipe for baked apples. Thought you might enjoy.

I've never heard of your puffn popcorn and I'm not even going to look into it cuz I don't want to become the next addict... :coolgleamA:

Have a great evening!

Mal, the baking queen, might be a good person to ask if you can't find the apple and oatmeal you were talking about. she always has some amazing recipes and such.

Actually, Lisa if you check in Trops' diary, within the last couple of days this very topic came up, and there are a couple of cool apple recipes in there.

BTW, My wife makes crock pot applesauce that is terrific. Peel 'em, core 'em and cut 'em up. Throw them in the pot with some cinnamon, maybe nutmeg ,if you like it, and just a little brown sugar. Then let it sit all day making the house smell fantastic.

mmmm, that sounds really good. I'm going to have to give that a try!

Hi, I came across your journal while looking for people who also had PCOS. I've recently been diagnosed so I haven't yet managed to wade though all the masses of info on the net, I'm curious as to how you found out you were Insulin tolerant, did your doctor just offer to test you for it or are there notable symptoms?
