Lisa's Final Countdown, The Good Days, the Bad, & the Ugly

Wow, that must have been nice to have a fresh salad right when you wanted it! I hear you on buying big salad stuff only for it to go bad in the veggie bin. I don't know why I keep thinking I can stock up on salads. They get slimy in 2 days! I haven't grown any leafy edible greens, but this summer I grew tomatoes, bell peppers, hycanith beans, strawberries, herbs(mint,oregano,parsley,basil...) and am working on a sad little lemon tree with only 2 lemons on it! Here's a picture of my ginormous sweet potato that I pulled up the other day:

Yea and not to mention the garden stuff tastes a million times better than store bought. I should have taken advantage of our farmers market this summer ;/. But anyways I had the same problem with salad veggies being slimy in two days. I think I told you I tried those green bags...they don't last a month as they claim but I got two weeks each time I used them so that was pretty cool. And I have a digital food scale now...an oz of cheese was alot more than I thought so I was weighing it for a while there and eating it anyway :) More I think about it maybe I should just pack my own salads for work, lol. Big salad and some frozen diet dinners and plenty of other veggies and fruit to snack on...as long as I keep track I think this will help. This working during the day on weekends is going to kill me because all everyone does is eat ;/ Not alot else to do. Seriously thinking I need to see if any of the girls want to walk with me before the weather really turns.

Oh and scales are NUTS! Ok granted when I weighed myself yesterday I think I'd already had breakfast and today I haven't. But yesterday I weighed 332.6...today it's 329.2. I even showered, waited and weighed again and that's what it continued to say. So obviously I didn't lose 3 pounds in a day so I'm guessing this last week back on track had helped. Guess I better take advantage of this while my body is working WITH me because right now I seem to have alot of room to eat and still lose weight...long as I don't waste my calories on junk.

I got a new ticker and put a new pic up that was taken today. Started an album finally and put a pic of me at my heaviest in with the one I took today. The first one was on my wedding day...at the court house. I still regret doing it there instead of just having a small wedding but, as I think I've mentioned before, I didn't want to be that big and have a huge ceremony so I let my weight rob me of yet another big event in my life. Funny though it's not bothering me as much as it used to. I think because I feel like I can really do it this time and I know I can have a pretty vowel renewel ceremony later on and the reception we never had. Gives me something to look forward to. And who knows...maybe if we're better off financially I can get a honeymoon too, lmao.

So today I kept meaning to get some breakfast but never did. By the time we at ate it was 1pm and DH and I went to a local restaurant called Doug's 57. I had a burger and fries BUT I was still thinking healthier :) I ordered a blackwing brand ostrich burger that's less than half the calories of a ground beef burger. It tasted pretty good to me, could hardly tell the difference. But it filled me up pretty quick because I could barely eat the fries.

So here are my calories today so far...I think I overestimated on the lunch but that's ok. Better than underestimating.

Breakfast-none

Lunch-827

Oh and on the way home I went grocery shopping :) Loaded up on fresh fruit and veggies, frozen veggies, and mad frozen dinners for in a pinch. I also got some kashi cereal and some oatmeal. I almost bought the plain instant packets but I know me...I probably wouldn't eat them on the go like I want them for. So I found some apple cinnamon that are "low sugar" and was happy. Only 20 calories more than regular I think and 6 gms sugar.

Anyway it's a start...I need to buy chicken this weekend sometime and get some tilapia fillets and lean ground beef. Not much of a pork fan anymore so maybe I'll switch to turkey bacon for less calories and less hard on my stomach, lol.

I make my hubby go now and pick out his own junk food. Better because I don't have a clue what he wants half the time and that way I don't buy stuff I want too. But right now there's two boxes of twinkies and ding dongs, oreos, and pringles on the top of my fridge. I'm not in the slightest tempted right NOW but I may have to find a lock box for my husband to put his crap in and slide it under his desk, lol.

By the way, love the new pic, because you're way cuter than you give yourself credit for.

Sounds like you've got a good handle on groceries and such to keep the healthy stuff around.

Anyway, I'll pop back in every now and again, but it's hit or miss on the weekends.

That sounds like a good idea; the good part about living by myself is there's nobody else's junk food here to tempt me. Lock box!

:iagree: and I love your hair! mines always been pin-straight.

Thanks Shandy :) I got a perm last month and I'm pretty happy with it but wondering what I'm going to do this winter when it has to be dry before I leave the house or it'll freeze :X

Aww thank you :) I was surprised by the pic though...I haven't had one that I actually felt I looked nice in like that in a while. I'll be happy when I get my face back, no extra chin, lol. Happened once before when I had lost 80lbs and I was so much happier with myself.

I've seen those file boxes with the whole for a lock before but ever since I've wanted one they are nowhere to be found, lol. Haven't looked online yet but last night I told him to either take his junk with him or put it away. I even jokingly told him to count it...but was only half joking, lol. I don't think it'll be a problem though as long as it's not just sitting out taunting me.

Ok so yesterday could have ended better. I made the mistake of buying that Snyder's hulless puffin corn I love so much, thinking I could weight it...which I did. Every time :X. I was only going to eat 1-2oz, I ate 4oz. That stuff tastes better than chocolate cake, I wish they sold it in small bags ;/.

Puffin corn: 680 calories

Dinner- two frozen dinners 350 each.

Total- 2207

7 calories over my max allowance

I've been using the heck out of my food scale. I weigh the oz for a serving now even if it says it in cups. Loving the fact that I know I'm really accurate :)

Breakfast:
Kashi cereal 1.9 oz-170 calories
Soy milk - 2/3 cup- 66 calories
1 banana- 100 cals.

breakfast total- 343

Ok I work today so I'm packing my food to take with me.

Lunch:
Diet lasagna frozen dinner- 290
Large salad (mixed lettuce, mushrooms, tomatos)- 44 cals
Mixed raw veggies (carrots, cauliflower, brocolli- 6 cals
Ranch dressing for salad and veggies- 200 cals
1oz cheese-110

Total- 540

(dang, now I see why they say eat more veggies, lol)

Dinner-
Frozen asian veggies in ginger sauce- 120 cals
Frozen sweet & sour chicken dinner-350

Total- 470

Snacks-
plum- 30 cals
peach- 40 cals
sugar free jello- 10 calories
puffin corn 2.75 oz- 468 cals (ate it already after I packed my food...no more buying any of that for a while, lol)

Total for today- 1901 calories :)

Zomg guys....LOOK...I preplanned my food for today and I didn't DIE! lol. Well I kinda had to since I'm gonna be at work all day, tomorrow same thing. But still one day didn't kill me. I was putting the food back in the fridge and freezer and was like "dang...I get to eat all this?" lol That's positive I hadn't thought about is I'm able to maximize my food and eat what I want this way without wasting my calories accidently on something I could care less if I ate or not.

Another thing I'm happy about is for instance, like the two weeks I just messed up. Not once did I see that as me quiting at the time. Yes it was me screwing up but I knew it was temporary even in the midst of it. This is so different from my usual diet on/off cycle. To see these screw ups as a rough patch in the road rather than a dead end is a good thing because I really think these will be less frequent and shorter screw ups the better I get at this. Which in the end will equal more good days than bad, ugly ones and I'll see results :)

Bravo on the planned food for the day! It's a pain in the backside, but it really is worth it to plan ahead.
I'm really glad you've got the attitude of "just because I messed up doesn't mean it's the end!" just get right back up and keep at it and you'll definately see the results you're wanting. I can't wait to hear how great you're feeling about yourself as the weight comes off and your confidence grows.
Take care!!

Ok so today changed, lol. I ate as planned for lunch but I didn't eat all the snacks I packed and at dinner we went to CiCi's pizza for the girls. I wasn't sure of the calories so I had two very small pieces of veggie pizza, salad, soup and avoided the dessert bar and tried not to look at everyone's plates. Finally I got one bite of the cinnamon rolls from my coworker and realized I wasn't missin much, lol.

Breakfast-343
Lunch-540
Snacks- puffin corn and plum - 498

Dinner-
2 slices of veggie pizza- 275
Salad-250
Soup-80
Small bit of pasta and alfredo sauce- 150

Dinner total-755

Actual total for the day- 2136

Lesson learned, don't pig out on puffin corn before work, lol

Great choices at CiCi's!

...that puffy corn sounds dangerous! Anything that's better than chocolate cake would be deadly for me!

Yea...I felt sick on the way to work and at work after so serves me right. I just can't buy it very often and if I do I better heat seal the bag back up after I get my serving out and have my hubby put the rest up, lol. Or better yet get it on the weekend and eat my serving and give the girls the rest...they love it too :) One serving is only 170 calories but you can tell I ate almost 3 servings of it yesterday.

Woohoo!!! I've lost another pound since Friday :D That puts me back at 20lbs lost. I can't believe I'm eating 2000 calories a day and losing over 3lbs a week. And I still have room to add in exercise so hopefully I'll have a while before I have to cut down my calories.

 Ok so I know this comes with the territory but some people irritate the crap out of me. I noticed a really strange comment in a journal today that seemed completely unrelated to anything anyone was saying.

After some investigation, apparently this person joined this month but just now got the time to take some scripted generic advice, some of it idiotic, and drop it at random in several journals without even bothering to take the time to read anything where she was posting first or get to know anyone.

So it came as no surprise that this person had started no threads nor shared any info about themselves and their profile pic looked like it was pasted from an ad. The only info I could find was a link off the site to some weight-loss webpage/blog, obviously their true agenda. Honestly these kind of people can take their drive-by advice and cram it.

congrats on the 20lbs!!! I'm glad you're not having to cut back much and still see results. maybe this way you can slowly lower your daily calories and increase your exercise instead of having to do it all at once. Keep up the fantastic work, and don't forget, one slip-up(your puffy corn) doesn't mean you have to quit, nor does it mean you have to throw it out completely. just, like you said, find ways to limit the ammount you have in one sitting. I put single servings into ziplock bags then put most of them up on top of the cupboards. you can have your husband put most of them up somewhere that you can't reach so they aren't too tempting, but you still have some available. less likely to binge, and you're not denying yourself a treat either.
again, great job on the 20lbs total! you rock!! :D
