Lindseybot3k's Diary

Oh, I plan to! I just hope I can in time to vote for this thing that would allow the local state-run casino to expand and add table games...it would help Charleston SO MUCH.

Did my 15 miles today....but I haven't ate anything yet.

Every time I hear about that article about how "fat is contagious" I get angry and sad and want to cry. I have a hard enough time talking to people and making friends and now it's like nobody is going to want to be around me because of this, when I eat pretty healthy and I'm so active...this makes things so discouraging, because I feel like no matter how much weight I lose people will always consider me fat.

The past few days I've been doing okay....yesterday I took an "off day" because the day before I went to college orientation and walked all over campus for hours at end, and today I played DDR for an hour.....I had a very small bowl of cereal for breakfast and I haven't ate anything else today...I think I'll ride seven miles on the bike later.

I heard ddr is a really really good workout. I was thinking of getting a pad for my xbox.

That article made me feel bad only when people in my class started looking at me and another girl in the class like they were going to "catch" something from us. I think contagious was a poor word choice by researchers.

Where are you going to college?

Marshall University...it's in Huntington, WV, so it's not that far from home....I think it's decently well known...there was a movie made about it and an airplane accident that hurt their football team pretty badly last with with Matthew McConahey called "We Are...Marshall."

DDR is a really good workout...it's also a lot of fun and it's something good to have for parties.

Hi Lindsey,

Male perspective here...

I was also reading that post (fat is contagious). Please please try not to worry too much about what others think. People who are self confident and happy with themselves are attractive to the same kind of people.

Many of the "beautiful" people you will encounter in school are really timid, narcissistic souls hiding behind their beautiful bodies, which are often a gift of youth. They go about mindlessly as if their physique will be theirs always, but they will likely be fighting the same problems you are when they are in their forties.

But you have the opprotunity to put your house in order and enjoy a lifetime of beauty, health and fitness at such a young age! In a year or two you can be as thin and beautiful as anybody! (You have a very pretty face).

But as importantly, you will not have to face these issues when you're 30 or 40 or ever! Because you are making the changes now!

It sounds as if you're off to a GREAT start!

I haven't been doing too well the past three days....today we drove all around to take care of some college stuff, yesterday we went and got my brand new laptop (which I'd be using right now, but it won't hook up to our internet)...Saturday we went out to breakfast and saw "the Simpsons Movie"...I think I did okay with my eating selections on each day, but I haven't been able to work out. Tomorrow I'll get back on the ball...I've noticed on days that I don't work out I tend to eat more to make up for endorphins, but I don't think I've ate a lot lot more than usual. It doesn't help that I've got A Visitor and am retaining a lot of water.

Ugh. I hate being a girl. My back hurts from my Visitor, and I ended up falling asleep on the couch a little while ago for an hour and a half.

I did ten miles today (most of it faster than normal)...and all I've had to eat today is a little bit of lasagna for lunch. I've drank a bout a half of a bottle of water today, but I'll probably drink more as the days go on.

Sorry you're not feeling well. I hate when my visitor (TOM) comes.

Its great that you're increasing your speed on the bike.

Increasing your water intake is really important. It will help you a lot. Especially since you are exercising your body needs the water.

....So I jumped on the scale sometime today, and it read 319! 20 more pounds and I'll be back down in Two-Town. I'm hoping to lose nine more before I get to college...I was hoping to be back in the 200s by then, but I don't think that's going to happen unless I do pilates and ride the bike and lift the weights everyday and since I've kicked up my speed on the bike, I don't think that's gonna happen! I've been trying to keep my speed above 20 on my bike, and after I've done three or four miles at one time, my feet kill me! I persevered through it and got to ten, though....

So far today, I've had a cup of sugar free applesauce and some left over chicken from last night without the skin. I've drank one bottle of water (which I believe is 16 ounces...I'll probably drink one more later on).

Since I've began this endeavor, I've lost 4.7% of my body fat....I know it's not much, but I've worked really hard and I can't wait until I get back under 300 and get my BMI under 40.

You're doing a great job. Before you know it you'll get to two-town:)

4.7% of your body fat is a lot... don't downplay it... that's amazing and you're making great progress.

Congrats on yoru success so far.

those are both great goals to shoot for and you will absolutely get there..

Thanks for the encouragement, guys! I know I shouldn't downplay my success, but 4.7% seems like a drop in a bucket compared to how much I need to lose. I'm trying my hardest to get to my first goal....and I'm trying to figure out what to do for myself when I get there. I'm thinking that I might take some of the birthday money I'm supposed to be getting and buying myself a few new clothes.

Today I worked out before I did anything else...I've decided that I'm going to do ten miles at a speed of 20 or above on my bike and see if that gives me any more results....Today I did that, and somehow I did it in twenty-nine minutes and thirty-three seconds!

Later on this evening we're going out to the local shopping center for groceries...we'll probably end up eating out at some fast food place...I think I'll fill up on water before hand and get something light and as healthy as I can possibly get at those places.

I totally understand where you are coming from on that... but those 4.7 percents do add up over time, just keep being as consistant as possible...

Having new clothes is a good thing - when your clothes fit, even if you aren't at your goal size, it's more motivating than having your clothes falling off you and looking all frumpy... you feel better and it's easier to stay on track when you aren't hiding in too big clothes... if you've got a marshalls or tjmaxx in your area - check them out I found a lot of good stuff at really reasonable prices.

OMG.

I got on the scale this afternoon and it said 317! Everything that I've been doing this week is showing results and I'm pretty happy....maybe I can get down under 310 before I leave home!

So far today I've had a little thing of strawberry yogurt (the Dannon Light and Fit kind...) and a PBJ sandwich with low fat peanut butter (just 1 tablespoon) and some grape jam (just one tablespoon, too).

keep it up! :hug2:

Great job Lindsey! Your hard work is paying off:)

How long do you have before you leave home?

Thanks!

I'm going to move in at Marshall on the 18th of this month, so maybe two, three weeks?....hopefully that'll be enough time to drop seven more pounds, at least.

Its very possible:) Especially with how hard you have been working.

Just don't get discouraged if the scale doesn't say what you'd like by then... well because our bodies and the scales seem to not listen to what we want all the time:)

Ohh, I know, I'm not expecting to lose that much by then, but I sure am going to strive for it! The scale's just one way to measure my body's changing, anyway.

So today we went to WalMart and looked for me some new bras because my 44B wasn't fitting me as well anymore...we figured out that now I'm a 42C! That's two inches from my band size, and I was wearing 48s and 46s before the 44! I'm really happy...I'm SO CLOSE to being able to buy cute bras in the normal sections of the underwear department (and VICTORIA'S SECRET!)!!!!!! I got really annoyed but excited because I kept on seeing 40Cs and 38Cs on the normal size racks, because I know I'm soo soo close to it.
