Lili's Diary

Thanks Mishi, Wishy, Happy and Kare. Geez, you sound like four of Snow White's Dwarves. I appreciate your checking in.

I ate over 2300 calories already today. Did well up til after work, when I ate a chocolate bar and bought 2 cheeseburgers and fries from Dairy Queen. I'm exhausted from insomnia last night (my own damn fault for drinking coffee at night!). When I'm exhausted, I'm in the danger zone for binge eating. It's very very difficult for me to talk myself out of comfort food when I'm super tired. I had some tough crap going on this week including court with one of my sons and having his totalled car hauled to salvage, as well as taking on more responsibilities at work, my widowed friend telling me it's too soon for him to date and then phoning me 5 days later to say he'd still like to see me ... then Ex contacts me to ask if I'll write with him again ... my energy has had to go many places. WAH WAH WAH !! Hey, tonite is free night and tomorrow is gym and back at healthy eating. I have to allow myself these moments because I'm human. And I'm looking forward to tomorrow fresh.
Thanks for listening (reading) my rant. WAH WAH WAH
Somebody call the WAHmbulance.

wow...just get through the day and then start a new one tomorrow! its good you know your patterns though...i am a stress eater...yesterday someone at work was arguing with me and i immediately wanted to reach for the wasabi beans (crunch) i had in my desk.

FOCUS YOUR ENERGY ON YOU...and everything else will fall into place naturally...

hugs me.

After the day you had, I can certainly see why the calories were up, and I don't blame you a darn bit, THIS TIME. hehehehehehe don't force me to come out there and whip you in shape girlie. LOL LOL Okay, you don't have to force me, I think Canada is gorgeous!

I just sent you a PM, hope you get a kick out of it.

I'll be up for awhile this evening, I have two shows DVR'ing right now, so I almost went to bed to read, but decided to come on and see if any of my lovely friends were still on, YIPPY! they are, I'm so lucky!

I need to update my diary, I'll check back by in a few.
Kim

Thanks Kare and Lady. I can't report the best eating habits over the weekend and I didn't go to the gym.

But my good habits over the week paid off and I did lose some weight. This inspires me to get back up and go to the gym after work tomorrow, and re-commit to my eating plan of 1200-1500 cals/day.

Not much time for diaries because the weekend was packed with stuff, including going to my sister's for supper - her daughter just got back from touring Europe ... awesome pictures.

Stay strong everyone.

Make her cry!! lol Sorry to hear about stress. It's funny (or not so funny) the way it seems to pile on you all at once. Here's to a better week!!
btw. Loved the pics of your puppy! Soooo cute!... but how are you going to dye him pink?? I am confused!!! lol
Have a good night!

To my favorite Saskachawan"ian"?!?!? Congrats on the "some weight", and heres to this new, fresh, hopefully less stressful week!! :cheers2:

Hello Friends;

Ate on plan, 1500 calories, and did my 108 sit-ups (3 sets of 12 X 3 different types), core strength, heel raises, shoulder crunches and 30 minutes on the elliptical trainer.

I saw a therapist today for some help with parenting & some other stressors. She is a firm believer in physical exercise for strength of mind ... I freaking LOVE her. She's 60 and in great shape. She told me to practise visualizing packing my gym bag, driving to the gym, changing, looking at the clock in the gym and spending some time remembering what I feel after my workout; pride, relaxation, etc. I told her I'll have 'weak' thoughts that I'll go exercise, but the visualization will make them strong thoughts so it will be more likely to happen.
Here's my poem for the day:

Mental strength to get there
Mental strength cuz you went there. :biggrinjester:

:hurray:

Good Job WOMAN!!! That is some work out there!!

I love that your therapist encourages visualization!! Good for you!!!...:iagree:

I love the poem of the day! ....cuz, you WENT there!!! :D:

Thanks ALTA :)

Ate on plan today and did 30 minutes on the elliptical trainer and my sit-ups. I'm going to drop free weights for a week because my left wrist is injured. An old injury got agitated when I did my weights a few nights ago. I have to remember to keep my wrist very straight and not turn it when I lift. Plus I have super sucky wrists. lol

Have a great night everyone.

Have you thought about, or are you doing, regular exercises to strengthen your wrists? You don't want a weak link in the chain.
Don't know what the injury was, but I would imagine some therapy and proper form would help it. I know some people who use braces, but I'm not really a fan because I'm kinda of the opinion that you shouldn't use artificial means of lifting past what your body is telling you to do.

Nice eating and workouts Lilli! Hope your wrist gets better!! If the pain persists, as Cabbie mentioned, maybe a "professional" opinion is in order. I'm a huge fan of PT. Have a great day. :)

Thanks Karl, do you have any suggestions on wrist strenghtening exercises? I suppose I could Google that too. I hear you on the brace thing. I have arthritis in my wrist because I bashed the crap out of it years ago when I was mad - slammed it against my car door after dressing my 3 year old cantankerous twins and loading the little rugrats into the car before work. Instead of getting angry, I abused myself. Ah, the good old days. :banghead:

Thanks JZ, cute that I'm your favorite (and only) Saskatchewanite. ha ha I just may have to go down the road of PT. My son has stupid skinny wrists also and it might be a genetic weakness. I think it is on the mend

Just popping in to say how much I love this forum. ... it has, and still has, supremely supportive people. We so fine!

Love your poem :)

Haha, YOGA (certain postures) definitely strengthens the wrists. It might exacerbate arthritis at first, though--it's difficult to tell because everyone has different experiences. i know my practice has virtually eliminated my neck problems--made it stronger and more flexible--used to get tired and sore at the end of the night. Hope your wrists don't bother you, whatever your method is!

Hello! I am sorry to hear your wrist is acting up. I used to have a cyst from waitressing and it made my wrist very painful to move and I couldn't support anything. Luckily surgery took care of most of it but push ups still hurt a bit. Hope it clears up quickly:)
I was just telling someone today about this forum and how much I have enjoyed it and all the people here. Yay!!! So glad to have a friend like you:)
