for a meal that will make her guests feel honored...
a feeling of control over her destiny...

Wow, that's so true and a lot to think about at the same time.
I hope you have a good night. I know how hard it is to get your brain to let go and sleep when things are hectic. You're just on the panic gear.. (not necessarily a negative thing when you have a lot to do, but very very exhausting). The sleep will return eventually and so will the good lifestyle. Don't stress over it, but just let it come when it's time.

Oh my god, i cant get over the price of that place, are they for real? 68k? Even with the conversion rate thats 1/4 the price of houses here!
to get a decent 3 bedroom house like that here it would be about 300-400k
For a house big enough to fit the kids and us (ie 4-5 bedrooms) we are looking at 400k upwards minimum :/

I've seen this before and it's interesting and has a lot of truths in it -but the really literal part of my being wonders if it adds to the stress of being a woman.. what happens if a woman doesn't do those things...
We spend an awful lot of time SHOULDING on ourselves -that we shoulddo this we should do that - we SHOULD just do what we do... and what's right for us at the time...

Oh Yeah, I love Maya, I believe she is one of Oprah's good friends! I've hit several of these items she mentioned, the one I still need to work on is that NEW piece of furniture that nobody has ever owned, I'm a person who loves to get the hand me downs, because I'm real frugal with my money and if stuff is still in great shape and someone is getting rid of it, why not take it right? Don't get me wrong, I love to buy expensive, Great stuff, but it's usually when I'm buying for others that I do that. For myself, well I really don't care, I would rather have stuff that people make for me, that's what I really like. Now it sounds like I have a run down old furniture looking home right. HAHAHAH I really don't, I do have one huge big screen in one living room and the formal living room has one of those plasma super skinny big screens in it. We all know the guys love the Electronics thus the reason I have those, I think we have a total of 7 TV's in our house, I have a small one in the kitchen. LOL LOL UH OH, I went off in a tangent again, sorry about that. I know your going to do well in your new place. That house is the CUTEST thing ever, I just love it's character and charm. I'm really excited for you, that takes a lot of guts and balls to make a change like that. Your a tough cookie, don't ever forget that!

someone got it for me as a bit of a joke because I am sooo non girl like... they aren't the greatest in the world but they do nicely.. my hands are so carpal tunnelled lately that I like my black and decker cordless screwdriver the best though

Oh yeah, I have a whole set of screwdrivers in assorted colors, my sons thought I needed them before I got married and bought them for me through some school function, OH and did I mention they are FLUORESCENT. HAHAHAH you got to love em.

OMG Mal, that pink tool set is freaking awesome! And only $10? I want to buy a whole bunch of them and give them away as gifts. Too cute. Yah, I agree, poems like that can suck people into the "shoulds", we need to have our own individuality.
Well, I must update you all on something. I received a call at work this afternoon from the woman whose position I would be taking in our headquarters. She said she's been having anxiety attacks and has decided to not vacate her position after all. She followed up by saying headquarters still wants me to which I replied the sooner her Director can submit an offer in writing the better, so I can decide whether it's worth my while. She didn't even apologize. I'll give her an anxiety attack...
Anyhoo, I came home to tell the boys and we are stunned to say the least. You don't tell someone we need you in two weeks and then tell you, oops, just kidding. I thought my ship had come in. But it turned out to be a tug boat, blowing black smoke up my ass.
She said the offer would mean I'd work for her (no doubt not at her pay level). If this is what her Director offers me, I will tell him I would want him to be my boss, not her, and I will also suggest another management position that is currently open. I will only consider a move to headquarters if the offer looks good enough. Damned if I'll uproot my life for nothing.
So tonight I'm having a few tears. Aren't I the horse's ass! My boss said she's a flake, he told me under no circumstance should I accept any offer that involves working for her. He's reorganizing my position so I'll supervise two staff and said this will afford me good skills for moving on eventually. Sweetheart. He also told me if I need a total change, he'll check with our Edmonton office. I love this man.
More than ever I need to get back to the gym now. For my mental health, after being jerked around like this.

Your boss is a great boss and you definitely should not work for that witch. I don't blame you for crying tonight. I have to wonder about them letting her pull back her resignation after offering you her job.

Anna I don't have much time to post but I wanted to say I'm sorry she's such a wishy-washy inconsiderate biitchhh. If your time has really been wasted like this, I'm in total agreement with Cannon, I can't believe that her boss would allow that sort of childish game. It shouldn't have gotten as far as to offer you the position when she wasn't sure. I'll be away for a couple days so I'm curious to see what has happened by Monday. Definitely get to the gym, you'll get in a great workout and burn off a little frustration.

I'm holding my breath here as long as it takes for this work situation of yours to untangle. I've been in that situation, promised a job in another city, which didn't come vacant after all when the former employee decided to cancel giving notice of her leaving. I just didn't know you COULD DO THAT!?!?! 
I had already rented myself an apartment etc. etc.
Sooo, I'm hoping yours will cancel her cancelling. Or that you get something even better instead.
Hope you had an aggression relieving session at the gym!

Good morning Anna! I am sorry to hear about what's going on with work. I can't believe she can just back out like that. It's terrible and no freaking way should you work for her!!! of course you already know that. It is wonderful your boss is so supportive of you. I hope they rally and come up with a substantial offer for you. Things have to happen for a reason. Maybe there is something else that would be better in store for you. *big hug* I hope you were able to get to the gym and work off some of the stress. After all this I know you didn't need more piled on!! My thoughts/prayers are with you!
