Lift, Train, Fitness

The male (I am making assumptions here lol) who claimed to be a world record holding IPF powerlifter tried to convince my husband (Who is not a lifter and has no knowledge or interest in a bar) that I needed 3 different bars and that I needed a 25 mm bar with "whip" for bench and claimed such a bar was IPF approved, all of which is complete bullshit (see page 6 of IPF rulebook).

Just caught up on this story, people can be so close-minded! I wouldn't let it bother me too much, but I do think it's rude when men will only talk to other men. When I was in India years ago, whenever I would travel around with the German man who had travelled there with me, I would be completely ignored. It was just the way it was.

Anyway, I hope the injection kicks in very soon. Liked the story about your daughter's shopping expedition. :)

The biggest problem was not so much the talking to hubby, but the total BS he was spouting that would lead somebody who doesn't know better to buying the wrong stuff.

No pain killers yesterday or today, all progressing well. Now I just have to get my brain into gear for exam on Monday.

I'm glad the injection has kicked in, Tru. I have confidence in your ability to kick arse in the exam tomorrow :)

Exam was easy, finished it in 40 minutes, expecting nothing less than a Distinction. My other subject, like the one I had the exam for today is already passed before going into the exam next Monday (Sitting on a credit mark before doing the exam) Then I can relax until next semester.

It has been a mostly relaxed day, bub is a bit cranky tonight and hubby is out fighting a bushfire. Pork ribs are slow cooking in the oven.

What a season we're in for! Hope bub settles & hubby is not too late, Tru. Enjoy those ribs :)

Hubby did not get home till 1am, They had to put in a back burn on the top of a local mountain (it is called a mountain but really just a very big steep hill covered in thick scrub) but it saved one side of that mountain before the wind change. The water bombers do a fantastic job.

It is hot and humid here today, typical sub tropical weather, hope it rains tonight. All of our house gutters are now fixed so any rain that falls will actually go in our tank. Still need to fix gutters on the big shed so we get full benefit of that roof area as well.

Despite my best efforts, the heat is killing my veg and herb garden, but the sunflowers are looking good.

1 am? Australia would be lost if not for our volunteer firefighters. The fire that was up our way earlier this year was put out by volunteers & 2 helicopters water bombing. Our state government is going to restrict the use of water-bombing this season to save money. Heaven help us.
Hope you get lots of rain, Tru!

Restricting water-bombing to save money is insane - especially as by restricting they probably don't mean saying "No" during a fire, they probably mean cutting back on having planes (copters?) and crews in readiness, before the crisis hits. :(

Tru, thinking of you - so many fires across NSW and Queensland right now, and some at least must be in your region - I hope nothing close.

I hope nothing close.

Nothing close but hubby's station has been put on high alert and a strike team from his station has been sent on a 5 day deployment to NSW.

Went into the gym this morning for a bit of relaxation. Hit a few sets of squat at 120 kg, Calves @ 300 kg and some speed sets on leg press at 500 kg (there was another woman there doing a circuit around the gym, so fitted my leg press sets in while she was working her way around the gym and unloaded back down to her weight just as she got back to leg press.

Ok just had an alert come across my computer screen, they are evacuating the entire Tewantin area, we are not threatened. Very leafy area full of celebrity holiday homes, eg. the Hemsworth family, who are in town at the moment. 72 units fighting the fire already, unlikely hubby will be called, as his station already had a unit in NSW and needs to keep people in reserve if there is a fire close by.
