Lena's corner

yeah i do, especially hard boiled eggs, and you can't do that in microwave. but any eggs will do :D from monday when i get back to budapest (i'm at bf's now :D) i really need to start following my plan.
first thing i need to do is buy some milk or yogurt for my morning cereal, some fruit to have as a snack before lunch. if possible i will eat something for lunch that is not expensive and that is nutritious and healthy. and for dinner i will have salad, pasta or soups which i have in my room and are easy to make.

and i am signing in a gym. i really don't need excuses.

Hi Lena! Glad you're posting. Isn't Mal great? I hope the advice works our for ya--and I think the gym is a great idea, mind and body, both need care! Have a wonderful day and let us know what school's like if you get a chance :)

yes she is :) all this will be very helpful to me :)
as far as the school goes. it is pretty hard but i'm not complaining, this is all that actually interests me :D i'm in the middle of writing my thesis proposal and several presentations. which is why i have to go back to budapest so i can finish doing it before tuesday, even thoughi would like to cuddle with goran for one more day. i guess i will have to wait for new year's eve for that :(

anyways i'll try to keep posting. unfortunately i won't have much time to see what's happening with everyone simply because of lack of time. but i'll try as hard as i can.

This is the attitude that got you so far already!! Enjoy the gym. :)

Hey Lena, its good to see you posting. I've been eating microwaved potatoes 1-2 times a week and they're pretty good. The skin isn't as tasty, but I love potatoes and they don't have a lot of calories if you don't go nuts with the toppings.

Hey There Girlfriend!!! Good to see you back online and checking in! I've missed you so much!! I know how hard it can be to do a diet on a strick budget trust me, I had that problem years back, but to only have a microwave to use, hmmmm Mal is right about the potato I microwave mine all the time, and add salsa instead of butter, maybe some (canned corn) almost like a fiesta potato, it's filling but still good for you. I would also suggest buying loaf of bread keep in fridge, make sandwiches like PB&J but use just a small bit of peanut butter, and maybe 2tbsp of jam or jelly your choice. Ummm, my son makes Roman Noodles in the microwave too, just another cheap suggestion. Ummmm Buy some whole wheat tortillas and some cheese, sprinkle about 1 oz of your choice cheese, add some veggies and wella tortilla wrap, good nutrition, low in fat, you know you can substitute low fat cheese and so on. I found this one too, mmmm Buy lean ground beef, I can use lean ground beef for several items in the microwave, this one and the one with the tortilla wrap, filling, plus you can re heat it for several days.

MICROWAVE PIZZA HOT DISH

It's great that you're back at the gym and onto the better food! I really relate to the sense of wanting to back to a normal routine after not having it.

Hey lena! I was wondering how you were getting on.

It's good to know that things are going well for you, so thanks for popping in to tell us.

Enjoy your aerobics! :)

Hello everyone :)

I am doing ok, i had two days of uncontrolled eating but now i'm over it. I think i need some help in overcoming this problem that I'm having. I've been doing so good before I came to Budapest but this situation here is really upsetting my progress. I am trying to keep myself under control but its ten times harder then when I'm home. And yes, being on a very low budget certainly doesn't help.

So basically I need to vent a bit. In my mind I'm still confident that this road is the right one for me, that I can and will overcome obesity and become healthy. I don't doubt myself in general. But all the progress that i did make concerning my relationship with food is diminished by the fact that one of the causes for my bad relationship with food is now again present in my life...which is that some foods are not available to me because they're too expensive. Again food has become a reward and comfort and I'm having a really bad time controlling that. Especially because I don't have time or the energy to constructively deal with this.

I am sleep deprived because of studying and writing and reading. I go out once a week because i would go crazy if i didn't and then i drink, so alcohol is not helping either. i guess writing here is the only available tool I have, although even this place is slipping out of my hands because I haven't got much time to dedicate myself to it.

i will be fine,i know i will. but putting my progress on hold because of the circumstances is really getting on my nerves. because i do want to continue the way i started. maybe i should write down some rules or something. oh well...at least i started eating relatively normally (apart from those two days). i still crave food for comfort which is why i'm writing right now. to get it out in the open and to admit it that it was wrong to give in.

i need to make peace with the fact that at the moment some things are out of my control. and hope for the best in keeping myself in check as much as i can.

P.S. Britta i miss you too...a lot
P.S.2. :) Joe thank you :)

God grant me the serenity
to accept the things I cannot change;
courage to change the things I can;
and wisdom to know the difference.

Living one day at a time;
Enjoying one moment at a time;
Accepting hardships as the pathway to peace;
Taking, as He did, this sinful world
as it is, not as I would have it;
Trusting that He will make all things right
if I surrender to His Will;
That I may be reasonably happy in this life
and supremely happy with Him
Forever in the next.
Amen.

Good one MAL! I agree you should certainly read that over 20 times.

Don't worry Lena, it will all work out!! Keep the faith, keep on writing in here and venting is a MUST. Don't worry so much about the weight, but do try and eat well for yourself, you need the good nutrition to focus on your studies and replenish your beautiful body.

Keep on smiling, tomorrow is a new day!
HUGS
Kim
