Laura's Diary

I know what you mean about all or nothing. Like you said, it could have been worse. But its not a matter of being on or off a diet. Its like a journey which has twists and turns, and sometimes, we take detours.

Am feeling much better today. I have had a few moments where i thought i would go off the wagon but i have decided that as my prom is in 10 days i am going to make a real effort for these next ten days so i can look great on prom day. I have eaten well today and i went for a long run and felt great. Thanks for all your comments they are such an inspiration. Hope everyone is having a good day!

Oh yay, prom! That is great motivation to stay on track! I'm sure you can do it- there's nothing like beautiful clothes to make me want to put the chocolate down :)

Hey everyone, currently on day 2 of my prom bootcamp and feel back on track. I am currently on a high after turning down, not one, not two but three seperate frappacinos! Also i only have one GCSE left and then it is the summer wooo!! My prom is now a week and the rest of the day away, given it is nearly 8pm not much of today left, i am determined to have a good week so i can look particularly slender and stunning on Friday night. I even made sure i went running tonight when i got home late, when before i would have made an excuse about it. I hope everyone is having a great day!!

Oh how exciting! Prom clothes! Maybe when me and Emmcookie make our goals we'll throw a huge party just so we get to wear pretty dresse. haha You are doing so well, staying so motivated. Just set aside a bit of that motivation for the day after the prom. We are here for you!

Your are doing fine. Don't get discouraged. Like Twin said....it is a lifetime goal, not a short term thing. Don't forget to drink a ton of water. It really helps me. I need to be reminded every once in awhile because I tend to forget to do it, but it really helps with binging. Cecilia advised me to brush my teeth when I feel a need to pick at food and that has worked well too. There are all kinds of tricks. We just need to find what works for us personally. Have a good weekend.

Yep...the brush-your-teeht-or-rinse-with-mouthwash miracle...:p

You're so motivated, Laura! Keep going strong!

Make sure your motivation lasts beyond prom...something I should have known... (prom weekend was binge fiasco after depriving myself for two weeks...stupid stupid stupid:( )

Hello girlies and guys, as you may have noticed i am in a good mood today because as you may not have noticed my ticker is down a pound!!! Thanks for all your kind comments you are definately helping to stay on track. I have added motivation to stay on track after prom, two weeks after i begin my lifeguard training, something which involves me in a swimsuit in front of other people for work. If thats not motivation i'm not sure what is.Just a quick note on the running today, i went out for lunch and had noodles at wagamamas, not particularly calorific nut more than i would normally have for lunch so tonight i made an effort to go for a particularly long run and ended up going the furthest i have ever run. I hope everyone is having a good day and i am off to check on your diaries!!

Just a quick note, went shopping today and cos i am doing work experience next week i got some cereal bars to take in with me to have during the day. I got some of the new special K ones because they were advertising them. I picked up the berry ones which were only 90 calories but when i sneeked a peek at the chocolate ones they were only 86 calories each. I was shocked and pleasently surprised so i bought the chocolate ones instead.

lifeguard

I LOVE lifeguards! I could not possibly take the twins to the pool by myself if not for the helpful eye of the lifeguards. And the kids have just loved their swim instructors. I think it is great that you are going to be a lifeguard. If you ever get tired, or bored, or feel unappreciated this summer, please know how much you mean to parents like me! :)

Wow! How very organized to be planning so far ahead for your meals. Great job! And another pound down! Woo hoo!

Hi Laura how's things doon south?;) Glad to hear you're looking forward to your prom, I went to my prom and hated it with a vngence (I was an anti-social little worm you see). I had it in my head to take my pet snakes to the prom then let them loose to see what happened. Anyway it all tuned out to be quite funny, most of the guys turned up in kilts so it was amusing watching them trying to dance while ensuring a breeze didn't catch them.:D

YAY!!!! Congrats on the loss!!!! I gotta keep a look out for them chocolate bars:p have a GREAT day and keep up the Good work.. Drink your WATER:D

Hey everyone, after Friday's success, Saturday was a bit rubbish. I don't know if it is just me but sometimes i have days where evrything just goes out the window and i know it will be a bad one from the moment i get up. It started with breakfast where instead of my usual yoghurt i had a banana as well. I could live with that, that wasn't the problem. We went out for lubch and i managed to resist the garlic bread (my favourite) that came with my spagetti and tomato sauce. It wasn't until about 6:30 when my will power broke down. My lil sis had baked cookies on fri and they were sitting on the counter. Now i have to admit that this was probably my best binge ever if u know what i mean, i don't think in total my overall calories for the day went much over 1800, but it was just the fact that i went wrong, i did however go for a short run and a 2 mile walk so hopefully that burned of some extra calories also. However i woke up today feeling much bettter and went for a long run to start the day off properly. I am confident that i am back on track and today will be a good day. I don't think i will be able to overeat anyway today, i am too busy panicking about my drama audition this evening  Hope everyone is having a good weekend!

Hey Laura. I've been sleuthing  . The spelling of 'Favourite' .... talking in stones and pounds .... aha!!!! I smell another Brit!!:D

Well done on the running! I gave it a go once, and I was in pain for 5 days straight  . I think I may have to get a bit fitter before I try that again  . Well done for getting back on track after a couple of rough days. I'm like you ... all or nothing ... but aslong as you get back on the wagon, the rest of your hard work will pay off.

What you said about the Special K bars is quite common with things like that. They do wheat free muffins at Tesco, and again the chocolate ones are less calories than the blueberry ones. Strange ... but who are we to complain :D .

Keep up the hard work, and I'll see you around the forum.;)
