so today my job is celebrating all birthdays in january with ice cream in cake.. and we were instructed to " leave our diets at home" lol depending on the type of cake, i may have to have a slice lol. but i still ahve all these girl scout cookies, which i am doing pretty well on.
workout today was pretty intense. i was a little more tired than normal, i'm thinking because i didn't sleep anywhere near as much as i usually sleep, so by the end of this week, i was pretty broken down. definitely looking forward to tomorrow's rest day. Weights went fine. i went a little slower that wednesday, just because i was just feeling exhausted, even though i was totally pumped up. Cardio was a different story completely. it seems that i drank my water too fast or too much at one time, which i guess is the same thing essentially, but i developed a little gas bubble in my stomach. i was just about ready to call it quits on cardio due to my stomach not feeling well, then ii burped and all was well lol. As far as the actual session, it was hard, really hard... I did 3.01 miles on level 17 for 560 machine cals, which i'm am begining to believe maybe undershooting see how my gf has a cal counter heart rate monitor doo hickey that she wears to count her calories. when she did her hour session it, the machine said she burned 650 calories. her monitor said 800. I'm betting next week when i get to the cardio session i'll be much better at having rested and all.
In other news i've a friend who has been working out since last summer and has lost 52 lbs. went from 250 to 198 thus far. I find out that he has never taken a rest day, so i informed him of taking a rest day once a week and a rest week maybe 4 times a year. he was arguing me down, but i got him to listen. he was telling me he doesn't work super intense, but i told him regardless, you are wearing down your muscles and you will get injured if you don't rest them before they get tooo worn down. resting when you are worn out isn't resting, it's recovering. i told him i know when you see results like that it gets addicting and you don't want to stop, but it works out better for you in the end.. he finally gave in. i told him rest should be a part of your routine and he got it.
