Kiwi Guy

Just got home from some weight loss challenge I'm starting today - 5 week thing, we gotta put down what we eat every day and how much protein is in it (aiming for 100g a day, seems like a mission!)

i'm down 0.7 kg this week, after a shocking week eating wise. On the piss, McDonalds and Pizza....thought I was gunna go up another KG. So im at 116kg. Want to lose 8-10kg in the 5 weeks...im attempting to eat healthy and as little as drinking as possible...

I normally shoot for over 100g protein a day...

My secret weapon is Fage Total 0% Greek yoghurt.
I like the taste (it makes a super creamy dessert with fruit)...

A 500g tub really helps out my protein and calcium stats...
100g contains 57 calories, 10.3g protein and about 200mg calcium

That means that for a mere 285 calories I have hit my calcium target and am over half way to the 100g protein.

Good luck with your challenge.

That yoghurt sounds pretty sweet...I picked something up similar to that but nowhere near as good stats as yours.

Protein going well, I've been getting between 85 and 110grams a day, so thats been going sweet.

I've been going for a few runs, and keeping active so yeah, kinda hoping for a good loss this week. No drinks or real bad food either, so thats all good.

Question time though, for those in the know...
My running/trainings kinda been average the last two weeks, but in the last week when i've gone for my runs, I'm finding im getting the stitch hard out....
I've been eating protein a few hours before hand, I was having a half cup of brown rice and Salmon, or cottage cheese and crackers/carrots.

Dunno...kinda not feeling it atm, but today it didn't come on till the end of my run so I was able to work through it.
Is it because of what I;m eating, or just because I've been such a slacker lately?

Lowest I've weighed as an adult....ever!
113.6kg, 2.4kg down from last week. Pretty awesome feeling!

I've got a goal of getting down to under 110kg by the 23rd, so 12 days to do that.

Pretty stoaked though, pretty good buzz to hit these goals. Mean!

Congratulations on your milestone...

The lowest that you have weighed as an adult is an amazing milestone.

Enjoy the celebrations.

Getting weighed today, not sure how its gunna go as I had a pretty mixed week. Had some good days, went for some good runs but also had a few average days (Valentines day cupcakes and banana split <3 ), and pulled a muscle at touch on Friday so havn't done any running since then. Will post update to my weight in a few hours when I find it :)

How was Valentine's day for all you lovely people?

Ohh pretty lame...only 0.3kg down haha.

But alas, a loss is still a loss.

3.3kg to go to get under 110kg. Can't wait, would like to knock that out in the next two weeks

So I had 4 McDonalds burgers on Saturday....4!. Pretty f**king terrible.
Lots of stuff happened on the weekend and I find im a bit of a stress eater...the drinking probably didnt help.

I got weighed last night for this fitness thing I've been doing, and it said I hadn't dropped anything in the week, which was to be expected as I had 4 fricken burgers on Saturday. I went in again today (for my lunch shake) and I had dropped 1.6kg....I do find when I get weighed at night I seem way more heavy haha.

I DID go for a run last night (4.1km in 28minutes, things are improving), and was able to run for 1.75km without stopping, twice during the run.

I've got my Round the Bays fun run on March 10th, next sunday. 8.4 Km, and my goal is to do it in less than an hour. So I've got about 10 days or so before this...

Down to 111.7 Kgs, under 110 is so close I can taste it. Can't wait to see 109 point something.
Once I get here, I'll post some more pictures :) Looking forward to it!

Good job getting back on track. I had a 3 day cheat weekend so I can't cast stones. I to am right back on track so go us! I hope you find <110 quickly. Good luck!

So I have 11 days to go untill my fun run.

I bought some new shoes on Thursday last week, and went for a quick run. As I had been training in some terrible 2nd hand worn out shoes previous to this, I could only manage about 350m on grass before stopping, sometimes 450m at a stretch.
I put my new shoes on on Thursday and went for a run around the block, it seemed easy and I was able to run over 1km without stopping. I ended up doing 3km in about 20min or so. Was pretty happy with that.

I didn't do much over the weekend as I was sick/stressed etc., but on Monday night after work I went for a run and ended up running for 4.1k, running non stop for 2 1.8km periods. Pretty stoaked! It took me 28min

Went for a run last night (Tuesday) and smashed 5.3km, running for about 2.4km non stop. I was pretty tired by the end of the 2.4k burst, so ended up running 1.5km and about 800m in two shorter breaks. I did this is 32minutes and was pretty please with myself. I'm feeling it today, but it's not to the point where I'm feeling real bad.

Am unsure whether I should fun that much again tonight, or if I should work on something else. Im almost at the point where I want to start weights (under 108kg was the goal, I'm 111.7kg atm), so could maybe do a bit of light weights and do some sprints and hill runs at the local park. Would that be better than running myself to exhaustion again tonight?

Pretty stoaked with the 5km though...I've never been able to do anything near that, even at my fittest (When I was playing 80min of rugby). Mean maori mean!

I'm south of 110kgs...yuss! 109.8kgs haha, I'll take it.

Lost 5.5kgs in the 4 week fitness challenge...pretty decent considering I had 2 weeks of 0.3 loss, and 0.0 haha. I missed out on a bit of money by not very much....oh well, my fault for not going hard out.

Round the Bays on Sunday! Just had a look at the track...8.8km....daunting!

Anyone got any advice as this is my first run and not really sure of stuff i should know.

Pumped!

Just had my Round the Bays - 8.4km. Ran it in just over an hour - 62.20 minutes. Pretty stoaked with this, I was hoping to get under an hour but still really happy. I ran most of it too, I'd say atleast 7km of it. Was hard because there were 70000 people doing it so we were running at a slower pace then I'm used to.
Oh well, stoaked as and have something to work with for next time.
Awesome!
