Hello! I just posted this in one of the forums, so I thought I'd be cheeky and post the same thing in here so I can meet more of you awesome people. Haha, thanks

Hey everyone, I'm new to the forums so just wanted to say Hey! and give you guys a bit of information about me.

I'm 26 and have always been bigger, have always been around the 120-140kg (264-308lbs) mark. I play rugby in the winter, so thats often when I'm at my fittest.

In the last 2 months I've been motivated to lose some weight, I was at 137kgs (301lbs), and after the first month I had gotten down to 131kgs (288lbs). Its been

good because people have been commenting ect. but for the last month I've had people stay with me, have gone on weekends away ect. and basically havn't

changed my weight.

I'm into a good routine now though - I've been counting calories and feel I understand it to a degree, I don't really know much about great nutrition - all I'm eating at the moment

is rice, veges, protein (tuna, chicken breast), health shakes, milk and fruit -mainly bananas and apples. I mix this up on a daily basis and generally get about 1600-2200 calories.

I work out a decent amount, and this generally changed between a Playstation Game Get Fit with Mel B (Very embarrased I use this haha), running/walking for 20min, and

punching bag or high intensity stuff for 5 min at a time. No weights as of yet.

Can any one see anything I can be doing that will help me lose more weight faster? I would like to be about 118kg by Christmas - around 260lbs.

I look forward to hearing more from you guys, cheers : )

Hey guys, so got weighed yesterday and Im 127.3Kgs, so Ive lost about 3-4kg in the last month, not bad, but keen to lose more!

I've started a Herbalife thing yesterday, anyone heard of it?

For $80 a week, I get breakfast and Lunch sorted, each meal consists of 3 drinks - an aloe vera water, a fat burning tea, and a protein shake.

Ive known a few people who have been doing the shakes, and they seem to lose a bit of weight, so I thought that it couldn't hurt to try it for a bit before Christmas....aparently it has all of the nutrients your body needs and it can help with sleep and fatigue, two things that I struggle with.

Anyways, I googled it b4 trying, and it seems that the more you put in (healthy eating exercise, eating healthy ect), the more you get out (funny how that works : P ), so I think that the lifestyle I lead - working out 2-3 times a week plus Touch Rugby and training, I should see some good progress

I'll let you guys know how I get on!

Thought I'd update on the Herbalife, as I had my weigh in today. I started using the shakes on Tuesday 27th, through to today Friday 30th, and aparently I've lost 2.2kgs.... kinda hard to believe as I've purposely not been exercising as I wanted to see how well this Herbalife thing works.

I even had Carls JR on Wednesday night, as I help with a young fathers programme - had the chicken burger so wasn't too bad, but half way through I found out they do salads lol...my bad.

In terms of feeling any different, I'm not sure I've felt many effects - the only thing I've noticed is regarding my eyes. I wear contacts and often their irritated when I put them in, and get dry fairly quickly. This hasn't been the case for me this week, and the distributor was telling me its because of the hydration im putting back into my body. I'm stil not sleeping very well, but that's more down to me than anything else.

Now that I've seen some good results in a few days, its motivated me to go hard out - the next week I'm gunna exercise most nights and continue with what I'm doing. Hopefully no Carl JRs this week though haha.

Just as a side note too, I do feel hungry with this product, but its not a starving feeling, more of a "feed me soon' hunger. Since then I've been having fruit in between the shakes and thats making it easier. I'll get up at 7:45 and won't have my shake till about 9ish, and in that time I would ususally be really hungry, but I'm not

Hey Vince! Glad to hang out with you in the group.

Have you tried using myfitnesspal.com? I've used it to track my calories because it keeps things in perspective.

Never be embarrassed by how you're working out, as long as you're doing something.

Keep eating the protein to keep your energy levels up, and my suggestion is to not focus so much on how many pounds you want to lose by Christmas, but rather just staying focused on being healthy.

Cheers Sundijo...I appreciate your feedback : )

Man, this new forum is a bit confusing, I've only been able to log on today. I'm getting weighed at my Herbalife 'club' tomorrow, so I'll post to let you guys know how that goes.

It was pretty interesting though, I got weighed on Friday morning, and because I wasn't going to have any of the stuff over the weekend, the lady who makes the shakes told me she'd weigh me on Monday, to show me how I went over the weekend (Pretty sure she wanted to show me how bad I would go without the product)
Just to be clear, I had a pretty crazy weekend, drunk WAY to much on Friday night, then was barely able to do anything for the rest of the weekend. I ate poorly..but probably not as much as I would ususally, and only managed one 30 min work out (I usually do 2 or 3 60min ones plus Touch Rugby). So how did I go?
I ended up losing another 2kgs. I asked her to check it on the other scales, and it was the same. She seemed shocked because I'm sure she wanted to to the whole "You need to buy these products" spiel.

I don't know, it all sounds pretty crazy to me, but I'm actually feeling really good this week, and people have been saying they can see I've lost weight. Even I can too, the top of my tummy under my pecks has gone down, and I can see what I am hoping are ABs lol.

But yeah, still trying to be skeptical, even my sleeping feels better....

Great effort, well done on the loss :)

it is great that you have success with the shakes but learning to develop a good diet to continue loosing without them is also important.

What position to you play for Rugby, I usually play in the front row, hooker most of the time but sometime loose head prop.

It may be a good idea to start a thread in the diary section, rather than continuing your newcomers thread :)

I'm a prop also, I'm not too fussed either side, although I enjoy Loosehead more.
Yeah over the last few months I've developed a better way of being - don;t want to call it a diet because it's been more of a lifestyle thing. But yeah, makes sense to have it under control as I wont be on these shakes for ever.

Yeah I'll start one in there shortly, cheers!

This thread could also just be moved to the Diary section if you want instead of having to start over completely

Just had my weigh in this morning - I've lost 6.7 kg in 17 days. I started this on the 27th of November, and as of this morning I had lost that much....its pretty crazy when I think about it. I'm sometimes hungry, but NEVER starving. I've really fallen off the wagon in terms of exercising, yet its still coming off. Pretty sweet. Im 120.5kgs, so by next Friday, my final weigh in of the year, I would love to break 118 kg.
I'm a bit concerned that over Christmas I'm gunna eat pretty poorly, but I'm purchasing the products so hopefully that will be able to off set the bad 2 or 3 days I have.

I'm feeling good, I may even have to post some pictures soon : P

Way to go Vince!

A day or two of bad eating isn't going to slow you down much so long as you get right back to it after. I figure a big day of eating will make me feel awful as it will be preceded by weeks of healthy eating. I'm going to try to keep that in mind as I load up my plate and focus on how much better I feel when I don't overeat if I do.

Awesome weight loss Vince, well done, you'll be walking around with one of those 'lose weight now, ask me how' badges in no time!

Loving the hot weather here today.

Thought Id upload some of my pictures...I think I've lost around 15kgs between pictures. Can't remember specfically how much i weighed when I took the first one, although i was at 137.5 kgs when i started my weight loss journey. Im now at 120.5, so yeah theres been a decent amount of weight loss.

I dunno, I struggle to see much difference between the pictures. I know I'm feeling better and clothes are fitting heaps better, but yeah, I don't see much difference. My goal is to be at 110 KG's by Feb 1 2013, so a big over 10 kg to lose in about 6 weeks.
Can I do it? We'll see!

Sometimes it's hard to see differences in how you appear because it's such a gradual process for you, but don't worry there is DEFINITELY A BIG DIFFERENCE! Even the shape of your face looks different!

Keep it up, you're doing fantastic!

I can tell with some things for sure, but looking at those pictures, I can't SEE the difference haha. Oh well, I'm not too fussed.
I got weighed today, its been officially 3 weeks since starting this Herbalife stuff, and I'm down 7 kgs. The close down for two weeks on Friday, so I'll be purchasing it to take home and do it there....a bit concerned that Christmas and NewYears are here...that usually means binge eating and drinking for me, although I'll be trying to keep it to a minimum.
I've got a mate coming to stay with my towards the end of Jan -24/25th ish, which is a bit over a month away, so I have a goal to get down to 110Kg. So that's 10.2 KG, I think if I go hard with exercise over the Christmas period - (Im going somewhere with real nice scenery and bush walks ect, so I'll be hitting all of that kinda stuff up), then I can do it. In reality though, Id be more than happy with 5-7 kgs in a month.

I'm really hope I see 119kg for the first time in a while at the end of this week....fingers crossed!

So I had my final weigh in today...I started on the 26th of November and today's the 21st Dec - not quite one month. My start weight was 127.3KG, and today I'm 119.5kg - 7.8 KG lost in just under a month. This has been with very limited exercise too.
I've always had black rings around my eyes, and I've noticed they arn't as bad lately. I've also noticed that when I wake up, I'm not pushing the snooze button for half an hour and struggling to get up, but its only taking around 5 minutes now. And it may not sound like much, but I'm able to jog around the rugby field -350m without stopping now, relatively comfortable.
All in all, it's been a really good month and I'm happy with the results. From now till the end of Jan - a bit over a month - I plan to get down to 110-112KG. I've got time off over Christmas, so if I do the walks and get into the working out routine more, which I intend to, then I can't see why this wont work.

I'm starting to think this Herbalife stuff could be the real deal - I've just become a distributor (I wont try to sell any to you guys :p), which basically means I get my stuff 25% off, and I'm pretty sure some of my family will be interested in trying it as I've had such great results. They say that after a month or two you really start to feel the health effects kick in, so I'm hoping over the next 2 weeks I'll notice even more.

Hope everyone else is doing great :)
