Kiwi gals diary!

ok... how typical is this?? ,after posting that no one had really noticed/commented on my weight loss I had 3 people say something to me in the last 24 hours!!

One was the gym lady who when i walked in said congrats on the weight loss , though am not sure if that counts as I had a re-assessment lately and she would have looked at that!
Also I had lunch today with a lady i used to work with a while ago and she hadnt seen me for about 3 months, she commented on how good i was looking etc and then another lady chimed in and said 'yes isnt she doing well' ... :)

So im feeling happy today!!
I had a massive filing chicken/bacon/avocado salad for lunch at a cafe, im hoping it wasnt too bad but i know i might have eaten a bit more than i should have. It wasnt slathered in salad dressing and the bacon and chicken were very lean though (ill just keep telling my self that lol)

Off to the gym tonight to get a new programme made up.. yay! have been getting a bit bored with the same same routine.

So yesterday i had my new programme made up for the gym.... omg my body is aching! lol its definately a lot tougher and more challenging. Im looking forward to giving it a good shot the next few weeks though to see how it goes.
Also i had another commment today on my weight loss from a lady at work, so funny how after i posted that entry that i had a whole bunch :p.
Anyways long weekend for Easter coming up yay cant wait!. Hope every one else out there has had a successful day!!

hope everybody had a great Easter!!

So today i had a super nice suprise, jumped on the scale at work to weigh my self and im now sitting at 87!!, not entirely sure how i managed to drop 2 kgs in 9 days but im not complaining..I actually thought i might have gained, I went to a friends birthday party on saturday and had a few too many bourbons plus pizza for tea to soak up all that alcohol, i knew i would weigh less the day after, as i usually weight up to 2 kgs less a night after drinking (i guess due to dehydration?) , but to my suprise it has stayed that way. I think also it was my time of the month the previous week and i always gain arround that time and then drop a fair bit (sorry if thats tmi!)

hmm what else, Im still aching from my new gym programme but loving it!

I am actually starting to feel lighter, does that make sense?
Iv also noticed the reappearance of my collar bones! , i was like whoa havent seen those babys in a while lol I couldnt stop touching them when i noticed,Is that weird?? was discussing this with a friend who has recently lost weight too and she said she was the same :p

anyways this post is getting a bit long and waffley, hope everyone is doing well!

Hey Kiwi Girl! Thanks for stopping by my diary :) . Checked out yours and it seems like we have a lot in common- same starting weight, I'm 24 also and I work and go to school full-time as well (not at the moment, classes don't start up till may again).

Congratulations on your awesome progress! Your before and after pics are unreal- thanks for posting them! Very motivating.

I'm kicking myself because I had a 'false start' in January, what with new years resolution plans and such and it just fizzled out... maybe if I had kept to it I would've been close to you and way ahead of the game of where I am now. Oh well! I'm on the right track now and I'm determined to keep going.

I'm curious how tall are you?

I find the trick to going longer on the elliptical is to either find a show (I watch a TV series on Netflix on my Ipod) or a great audio book and make a pact to only watch/listen while your working out! You wanna know what happens next, so it keeps you going :)

Congrats again on your great progress I will definitely keep following your journal :)

Congrats on being able to keep that loss! Isn't is great to expect the worst, but come out with the best? :D

Hi Kiwi_gal! Thanks for swinging by my diary. It looks like you're making some good progress. Keep it up!
I completely get what you mean by feeling lighter. I've been feeling a LOT better lately, but then feel strange when I look in the mirror and realize I'm still really fat.... I just feel better than I look! I think it's just a combination of feeling healthier and stronger, coupled with being a bit lighter. It suggests to me we must be doing something right. :)

thanks for the comments guys!

Hey katie, wow we do have a bit in common, thats kinda cool :p.
I am pretty much the same height aswell, a shade under 5'10 i think.
Thanks so much for your comments about my pics! , i was finding it really hard to see any changes in my self when i looked in the mirror but when i saw it in the pictures it definately helps, plus when other people point it out its hugely motivating.
Thats a really good idea watching or listening to stuff, sometimes i read a magazine when im on the treadmill and its amazing how quick time goes!!.
I look forward to following your diary too, It sounds like your really motivated so I am sure you will be successful, plus it must help knowing you have done it before so you can definately do it again =)

Thanks Cory and Don! you guys are awesome
Don its such a great feeling to be more healthy, amazing how much more energy you have and how much more positive you feel in general right?

I meant to write in my previous entry that when i was at my friends birthday i had sooooo many people comment on my weight loss, alot of them were people i hadnt seen in ages so that was really nice. When I first walked in to the house my friend was so shocked lol, she spent the whole night telling everyone about it (embarrasing!)

Wow its also just hit me that im over half way to my goal weight.. craaaaazy!!

Just saw your pix!! WOW!! An amazing difference already! You should be really proud of the results and the dedication you have put in.

And enjoy the compliments - they are a great confidence booster and motivator!

Hey mands thanks so much for your lovely comment :).

The compliments are indeed a great confidence booster and motivator... Iv actually lost count of the number iv had recently, it just, i dunno seems so strange that every one is noticing, iv even had random people i barely know come up to me .
While it is really nice it is almost a bit embarrasing too lol! (does any one else get that? idk if im just weird and socially awkward) im not used to being the centre of attention i always go shy and dont know what to say.

So scale check this morning and it shows 85kg WOW. Super duper stoked that everything is still on track as i hadnt weighed my self in a while. All my clothes are seriously ceasing to fit... i desperately need to buy some new stuff but i dont want to spend a lot of money, hello second hand stores!!.

So im now officially 10 kgs (or 22 pounds) away from my goal weight.
I better update my ticker after this :)

I will be trying to catch up on other peoples diaries today too as i havent done that in a while.
So i hope every body else has been doing well! . I will try and update this more regularly as I get closer to my goal and i might upload some more pics!!

Not much to report today but trying to check in a bit more offten!
I have to say reading every bodies diaries and seeing all the awesome progress people are making is so inspiring!! , im so glad i joined this forum.

I was thinking today i now actually genuinely enjoy excercise, I look forward to going to the gym (most days). Iv also started going for walks on my lunch break which is really cool, breaks up the day a bit and its good to get a breather.

Still getting crazy ammounts of comments on my weightloss, mostly with people at work, its funny.. they seem to say goodmorning and wander past then do a double take and comment lol
I had a really lovely email from our nutrition and physical activity coordinator yesterday who said i was looking really awesome and to keep up the good work etc.
Have decided to print that out and stick on my wall for motivation :)

very close to 84 (lol i just typed 94 and was like wait a second its 84! , i guess my brain is struggling to catch up)

I am going away to visit a friend on saturday so there will be a few glasses of wine involved and possibly nibbles so im going to make sure i get to the gym on saturday and work my ass off (literally...)

Hope every one else is having a good one

Yeah it is awesome Cory!, i totally didnt think i would become such a gym rat but i love it now lol
Im actually kinda upset i cant go for my lunch time walk because its raining :(. Stupid rain.

Not much to report today, I had a great weekend away, probably went over my calories on saturday with a few glasses of wine and some chip and dip (naughty!) but im fine with that I cant be perfect all the time afterall.

I wanted to share this too.
Yesterday i was in town and i decided to try on some clothing, i looked in the mirror and just had to stare at my self for a while, I dont have a full length mirror at home so i kinda caught my self by suprise. I can actually say for the first time in i dont know how long i was actually feeling happy with the way i looked and my body!!. I mean i know i still have some work to do but it was such a great feeling :) :)
I cant wait to go shopping and buy some nice new clothes when i get nearer to my goal !

have a great day all

Hi every one!

Sooo i wrote a big long entry and then my computer stuffed up and wouldnt let me post it grrrr
This will be the edited version im afraid.
Im still doing really well, working my ass off at the gym and mostly managing to eat ok.
I am now sitting between 82.5-83 kgs, so iv set my ticker to 83 to be conservative :p
This means a total loss of 19.5 kgs (or 42.9 pounds), i can barely believe it!!, such an awesome feeling.

Iv decided to do a photo update, i was originally going to do one at 80kgs but i figure this is close enough, plus then i can do another one when i get to my goal weight :)

I hope this photo uploading will work, i did it when my post disappeared so here goes again!
x

pics 1/2 are my befores , probably about 100kg in both, taken in 2012
pics 3/4 were taken today 28.04.2014 82.5-83 kg , i purposely took one wearing a similar outfit as the before one in the black top and blue tights.
(I also have another before and after pic that i posted a few pages back)

Thanks Quercus and Trusylver :)

82.5 today and staying that way yay!
Last night i had a really awesome work out at the gym, iv started running on the treadmill instead of walking at a fast pace, you know it must be working when your sweating up a storm lol am really enjoying it though , Im even thinking about starting to go for runs at the weekends or after work, what on earth is happening to me :p

Stunning progress! You look so much younger now! Its weird hey, that we actually start looking younger when we shed the weight.

You have done awesome and just keep going till you reach your goal!!

Heeey good lookin' ;)

Looking awesome Kiwigirl....do you need a new stick yet?
I just assumed the other one broke, what with all the fending away of the boys you must be doing :p

Hahaha Vince you crack me up!,thanks though :), thought you might have dropped off the face of the planet but glad to hear your still about somewhere.
and thanks Mands and blues for your lovely comments, you guys are great

So anyways, Im adding another before/after photo, i really wanted to put this one in to my photo update a few posts earlier but i couldnt find it at the time.First is my beginning photo new years 2012/13 102.5 kg and 2nd pic is me currently
I will update again when i get to goal.

Things are going awesome, im at 81.5 kgs now, AHHHHHHHHHHHHH the 70s are seriously close.. I can barely believe it!! , its very exciting, im so proud of my self for making it this far.

I did have a wee slip up over the weekend , i went away for a couple of nights and had dinner out twice and a few drinks too, so would have gone over my calories but i dont really mind.
Iv been going to the gym 5x a week and its definately paying off, have started working up from running 5 mins on the treadmill to now getting close to 10. I am loving the feeling of having alot more energy !!

All my clothes I was wearing before starting this journey are WAY too big now i literally am swimming in them lol im a pretty comfy size 14 (uk/aus/nz) on top and size 16 in jeans.I cant wait to buy new clothes hehe

hope every one is doing well.
