Gonna log todays cals in and out now, coz am going out soon, aquarobics then to boyfriends. Gonna be honest here!

I don't really know to be honest, as I've never been before!!

One of my housemates is a trainee physiotherapist who is learning how to administer hydrotherapy, and someone recommended this to her to help, and I'm tagging along!

It's basically like aerobics but in the water, I think, so it's obviously slower. You kind of work against the resistance of the water. It's in the little kiddy training pool, so it will be nice and shallow and warm! (see my first post for my probs RE swimming!) Talking of which, am gonna have another attempt at a first swimming lesson tomorrow hopefully, instead of Sunday.

So hopefully I will be able to let you know tomorrow what exactly water aerobics is, and how my swimming lesson went!!

Good luck on the swimming lesson! And I love water aerobics, it a resistance workout... but also kind of soothing.. you don't even realize how much work you've done until it's time to get out of the pool...lol
 
I Did It!!!!!!!!!!

Well guys n gals, i did it - my swimming lesson (see rest of diary for why I'm so proud of this!!!!)

It was ok!! I struggled a bit, but did it for bout 45 mins anyway, my m8 is a good teacher, and we're going again on sunday. I felt very good afterwards- not only like I'd had a great workout, but I'd really accomplished something too!!!

Water aerobics was fun last night too- especially good for working arms and shoulders, and having a laugh!!!

So, how have I done today (I'm gonna write how I am GOING to do for the rest of the day as well, as won't have acess to my computer later this evening. I wil let you know tomorrow if I do anything different to what I'm about to say!!)

Swimming 45mins Burned 534 cals (I put 45 mins vigorous freestyle into my calorie calculator- for most people what I did would not have been considered vigorous, but it sure as hell felt like it to me!!!!)

Walking to uni and back TWICE!! and to swimming pool and back total 2hours 20 minutes-phew!! Not fun coz its raining v hard, but gotta be done-one of the only advantages to not being able to afford a car!!!! Burned 665 cals

I feel very happy with that!! Makes up for not-so-good day yesterday :)

I am starting to feel slimmer as well. At first my bf said he was noticing the difference, and now I'm starting to as well! My jeans that were tight now fit perfectly- I am looking forward to them getting too baggy, so I have to move down a size!! And I actually can notice a difference when I look in the mirror as well, especially round my tummy and hips. This is making me feel much more confident with the bf as well if you know what i mean ;) (I hope I don't loose much from my boobs. I haven't so far, but I do like my boobs as they are and would be a bit gutted if I started to loose fat from there!!)

Theres another epic post for y'all then, well done if you've made it all the way to the end!! In a bit of a hurry now, I have to get back into uni to do some research for an epic paper I gotta write, so I don't have time to visit your diaries-sorry I will make an effort tomorrow!!!

Congrats on the swimming lesson!! Glad it went so well - keep it up! And sounds like you have a good day ahead of you - yay!!
 
Oh I have been so bad today :( :( :(

I feel like there is a crack in the dam of my willpower!!! Went into town and have just indulged my sweet tooth non stop and feel a bit crap now, especially seeing all your lovely posts of encouragement since I posted earlier! After the cheese crackers I had a chocolate bar then a full fat baguette then a chocolate brownie- and I didn't even enjoy it that much!! And I got a lift into uni this morning, and the train back, so I've done hardly anything to burn it off.

I know its not the end of the world, but I guess i'm a bit scared coz this is the point where I usually give up on diets (when Ive been good for about a month, and am just starting to really notice results!!)

I'm not saying Im thinking about giving up though, god no. I want this too much. It's just been hard today. Its the first time on my whole diet ive cheated like this!! I've gotta really build that will power dam again (silly metaphor but kinda how it feels!)

I am glad to hear your swimming went well and I think you're doing great.

Don't feel bad about days like this. After all, if we are really making a lifestyle change we need to account for indulgences in our new lifestyles. I couldn't imagine going the rest of my life without brownies! It's just in the new lifestyle we have them less frequently, and we compensate for the brownie later. Which apparently you did very well if your day ended up under 1700 calories!

Don't look at this day as a slip up, instead look at it as a perfect example of how a day might go in your new life.

Hey thanks for all your lovely messages guys!! Gonna try and post of some of your diaries today :)

Just weighed myself (cheating coz weigh day proper isnt til Monday) and Im a couple more pounds down!! Still achey from all that exercise yesterday though :p

Todays going well so far:

Walking one hour 10 mins Burned 328 cals


Plan for rest of day, I'm going bowling with some friends from work as one of them is leaving (walking there and back and an hours bowling should burn another 300ish cals!)
I'll have a weight watchers ready meal with some veg before I go, and maybe some toast (wholemeal, no butter!) when I get back if I'm hungry.

If I stick to this (which I will)
Total cals in today =1160
Total cals burned today =628


Another good day! I'll admit any cheats from this, honestly!! (I said that yesterday and I'm pleased to say I stuck to my plan and didn't cheat!)

My BMI

Just been playing around with an online BMI calculator.

My Starting BMI = 28 (bout half way between overweight and obese)
My Current BMI = 26 (overweight)
My BMI at goal weight = 21 (slap bang in middle of healthy!!)

When I have lost 7pounds more, I'll be out of the overweight bracket altogether!!! So this is my short term goal- I hope I can achieve it in 3weeks at the most!!!

I know I'm doing well, but am really impatient for each pound to come off!!

Pizza night...

Hey all

Am slightly worried today (its 10am here by the way, I keep gettng confused with the time people are posting coz I'm in a diff time zone to y'all!)

But I got my bf a job at the shop I work at which is great, but we agreed at the beginning of the week that we (and all my housemates) would have a pizza takeaway night and go out for a few drinks to celebrate after his first day (2day). I was kinda thinking , what the hell, I've earned it, I can afford a night off!! But now, thinking about it, I really don't want to!! I've already messed up one day this week and I really, REALLY don't wana make it 2!! But I don't want to look like I'm obsessing about this either.

Should I just go for it? Planned my cals for today and I can eat half a pizza and still come in under 1700cals if im strict until then. Or should I make some excuse and have something else? Maybe a compromise- just one slice. But thats how a binge always begins!!

What should I do? (I know it's not a really big deal, but I just want to make the right decision,and feel good about sticking to it!!)
 
I say just enjoy it! You can always walk more, exercise more, and just take smaller portions of whatever you DO have!
