kelly's diary

Have had two more days of dieting and exercise. Roasting a 16 pound turkey that i got for free with my Q-Points from our grocery store. Going to cook a bunch of meals and freeze them.

Have done Trusylver's bodyweight challenge two times and finding it hard but satisfying to do as I work these unused muscles.

It has been a very good month. I have become more aware of my body, I have visiualized myself in a slimmer sexier body, I have seen a box of 30 pounds of butter and know that's what I'm trying to lose, so I have a realistic idea of how long I'm in this for. I'm looking forward to being ever more active and enjoying many adventures outside. Getting stronger is making me better, making me naturally do more and feeling better. I must do the bodyweights.

You sound incredibly positive! That's great because I think our attitudes alone can take us a really long ways!

Are you going to report your bodyweight info now, or wait till after the 1st to start? I've decided to join too and I'm excited to see how it goes. I've never really done a challenge before.

We are gonna get STRONG!!!!

Calories 1435 today. Loads of veggies, carbs and protein at regular intervals. Tons of water. 30 minute bodyweight routine (practicing for challenge) and 45 minute pedal on a bike ride outside. Went to the infrared sauna tonight and I am so relaxed I think I have to call it a night and go to bed.

Two more days and I take my measurements again. Seven pounds gone this month, two more days or so, I'll see if I lose another one????

Night night all.

Hi Kelly. Seven pounds in one month is very good weight loss. Just keep on going and never let up. Next thing you know it will be summer and you'll say whoa I've lost __ pounds this year!

That's right Derrick, and that is the unknown, but as long as I am willing to work hard like I am now I should have a good outcome by summer. I am thinking of making a graph to plot my loss.

Today was a rest day. My legs are tired and I was still so relaxed this morning from my sauna last night that I was pretty much toast for the day so I made the most of it. Treated myself to a nice bottle of hair conditioner.

Get to take my measurements in two more days so I'm looking forward to that.

Eating according to plan today. Basically eating a carb and a protein every four hours for about 1500 calories. Veggies and fresh vegetable juice rounds out my nutrition.

Took a sneak peak at my measurements this morning. Two inches off my waist in TWO weeks - at my navel. Official measurement is tomorrow.

Not sure if I will get out to exercise today, still feeling kind of lazy since I just got out of bed. May take another day off. In fact I thought of taking the rest of the month off till Feb 1 for a good job done in January. I find if I'm well rested then my workouts are better.

I am feeling like taking the day off but I promised myself I would do the bodyweight challenge routine every other day. So my goal today is to do 30 minutes of bodyweight exercises by Trusylver. Sigh. Just feel like taking it easy, taking a break. Do feel like eating according. to plan.

I'm going to remember that working out three days a week is better than nothing. Working out consistently five days a week is a Heck of a Lot of Work!!!

Even though I am feeling lazy I am reminding myself that my plan is working. Just finished reading a book called "Skinny Girls Don't Eat Salad" which drove home the importance of eating protein and carbohydrate together at meals, that and other things has me convinced that I am definitely burning fat these days and NOT just when I am exercising. I am burning fat all day long and that encourages me to keep going. Wow, two inches off my waist in two weeks is really encouraging. My gut is my biggest problem and that is where I am having the best results.

Another tool that has helped me lately has been buying the ph strips from the pharmacy to check my body for alkalinity. When it is alkaline (checking urine) is a perfect time to work out. I've heard that in an acidic state fat storage is locked. I see that it fluctuates through out the day but I'm glad to see that my body is often in the right state.

Gosh! I'm jealous! I've deprived myself of nearly 30,000 calories the past two weeks and I have only lost "about" an inch off my belly. I'd practically kill for an inch per week. Sure, you won't keep that up indefinitely but that is an awesome two weeks!

I'm so proud of you for getting in your work out even though you were feeling a bit lazy today. It's great to see you keeping your promise to yourself!

2 inches gone is SUPER! I can't wait to see what your official measurements are. Do you think you have been losing inches in other places as well?

Keep working hard - it will be SO worth it in the end!

Thank you Derrick and Tigpuppy for the recognition and compliments. It really makes me feel good to have some acknowledgement.

Okay here are my measurements comparing today to two weeks ago.

Jan 17 January 31
Bust 41 40.5 Down .5 inch
Ribs 35.5 34.5 Down 1 inch
Smallest waist 35.5 34.5 Down 1 inch
Navel 41.5 39.5 Down 2 inches
Abdomen 43.5 42 Down 1.5
Hips 43 43
Upper Arm 14.5 14.5
Upper Thigh 26.5 26 Down .5 inch

I think the difference must be the bodyweight exercises that are really toning me and boosting my metabolism. I'm burning fat!!!

Wow!! Look at you! You're losing inches like crazy! That's fantastic!
Your inches lost is so motivational!! To see your results- wow!!
You should be so pleased!
You go girl!!!

WOW! You are getting some awesome results already! Great job! I too think it's the toning that really has kicked things into high gear lately. I haven't moved the numbers on the scale much, but the inches are still trickling away!

Keep up the great work!

That's some great results there! :hurray:
It's such a good feeling to get the exercise done early hey? I love finishing it by lunchtime so I know I have the whole afternoon/evening free :)

I like the idea of treating yourself to a lovely conditioner too, little things like that all make a difference to your confidence. I'm thinking that to celebrate my 20kg's (I have one kg left to lose to get to the 20) I might get my eyebrows done and eyelashes tinted. My eyebrows look like a couple of dead squirrels stapled to my forehead at the moment!

Keep up those great results, you're doing an awesome job :seeya:
