kelly's diary

thank you everyone

Hey I feel like my team has grown. Thanks everybody.

Todays exercise brisk walk 45 min
general gardening 2.5 hrs
798 calories burned according to fitday

Calories 2300 so far, will need a little more before bed.

Well, it was a beautiful day and I had a pleasant time weeding for the first time in a year. The promise of more work to come. Spring is upon us.

As I hustled through my walk I was aware of the rolls rolling and thought these might be the last days for those rolls.

Lots of good stretching and bending gardening.

Oh yeah, dead battery this a.m. Did not go to aerobics. Was afraid it would have been too much for me to go gardening after doing lunges and squats. So it worked out well.

Hungrier today, but worked harder today. 189 reminds me of 180.

This is the year for me.

not 180 Cannon, 189

Was back at 190 today. Arrgh. Just saw my fat arms in the mirror at the thrift shop. Got disgusted. Trying to forget about it.

Gardening again today. 2 hours. Calories way over this morning. Ate almonds in the night. Feeling the extra activity and fatique. Am aware that fatigue can cause overeating. Will try to pamper myself instead.

But gardening is so good. It is sunny and the soil is workable and I'm bending and stretching and lifting and picking up.

Read Becksters journal last night. Filled with hope about where I might be in a year. Great to meet you Beckster.

wednesday

Well, I'm off to step aerobics. Today is a day I might have taken off in the past but the motivation I get here is totally making me go. Thank you everybody.

Read Sophie's diary and was impressed by her intuitive eating plan. Says she often comes in with lower calories than if she counted. Think I'll try it out for a few days, still measure portions, still tally at the end of the day, but just to see...

Gonna get some fish oil today.

Have a great day all.

Don't be afraid to grab an Advil, or your analgesic of choice, if you get too sore!
I think it is great that you are having a good time doing something physically active, and I am sure you will enjoy the results! :D
See you soon!

Howdy Happy,

back at 189

That pound is gone for good.

You should have seen the place I gardened at today. Cleaning up a solarium. Stunning.

Step class
Light gardening 2.5 hrs
Leisure walk 1 hr.

Bought fish oil capsules, greens, almond milk and whey/protein powder for shakes in the morning.

Gonna have a shake in the morning, oatmeal at noon.

Great day today.

ate intuitively yesterday

and I think I came in under. Jumped on the scale today and it said something like 186 which is unheard of. Won't change the ticker for a week. I was very active yesterday and got more supplements going.

Can't believe this is actually happening.

Stopping in to see how you are doing :) I've been away on business for the last week ugg so I'm behind on everyone's diary, including my own!

Sounds like your doing good, and grats on loosing those lbs :)

Hello! Sounds like things are moving along! Keep up the hard work and the scales will continue to see things your way :)

is it possible I'm down 3 pounds

I still can't believe I dropped three pounds just like that. Will see if I'm 186 again in the morning. Good night everybody.

I'll keep my fingers crossed for you; it's nice to see that sort of loss in a week. I seem to be losing my sizes slowly, but surely. I haven't gone back up at all, which is always a relief, since my waist measurement seems to depend on so many things.
Congrats on the changes you've made! Intuitive dieting can be a real challenge if you don't pay a lot of attention to your intake and output, just remember that you probably have a lot of unhealthy habits to watch out for; I know I do!
See you soon!

it was an aberration

My weight was 190 today. No problem. I'm keeping it off.

Things have clarified for me. There's a new chart on my fridge. Tomo showed me how to chart daily deficits. This is a good way to measure progress each day as the scale doesn't seem to want to move very often.

Slow and steady wins the race.

Hi, Kelly. Did you figure out how to do your resting pulse? You can do it in bed, too, right before you get up. Just take a count from your wrist for 15 seconds, and multiply it by 4.

I have found a lot of satisfaction in lowering my resting pulse over the past few months. It's not the only indicator, but it's neat to see.

And don't worry too much about all those weight fluctuations. Mine goes up and down like a ping pong ball. That's why it's more meaningful to use a 5 day moving average.

Even then, you're bound to hit a plateau now and then. As long as you aren't starving yourself, and running a reasonable daily deficit, you will eventually break through it. My last plateau took 5 weeks!

Have a great weekend!
