Katie's Diary

Awesome for your mom! Your good example rubbed off on her! I think you're doing great, and thanks for all the funny comments you keep leaving in my diary!

so we were talking about different people being engaged, and fuunky is having this dramatic love story played out in her diary, and I realized that I hadn't posted anything in here about my own engagement, besides saying that I was in fact engaged... b/c i'm silly... so here ya go:

Okay - Brandon and I have been together for well over 5.5 years... we started dating in high school, spent two years apart (we were at different colleges) and then he moved to the school I was at, and we had two years together. But now, we are apart again, since I moved to Tennessee for graduate school... I spent this summer back home and lived with him (instead of at home - and my parents flipped out! - we live in the same city).

It was a fantastic summer, but at the same time, I was getting a bit frustrated about half way through. We had been together forever, and we were living together and I was just waiting and waiting and WAITING for him to ask me to marry him. One day I just broke down, because I had this fear that he wouldn't ask me before I had to move back, and that we would spend the next two years still as boyfriend and girlfriend, and that just wasn't going to work for me. (i'm reminded of the moving "my cousin vinny" - when marisa tomei's character talks about her biological clock ticking!!!)

So anyways, I started bawling, and brandon walks in and asks me what's wrong, and I went on this huge long rant about how I didn't think we were ever going to get married, blah blah, etc... and he holds me, and says, "well, i was going to do this later this summer, but... umm... would you like to go pick out your ring next weekend?" I was shocked, and kept crying b/c i was so excited, and so we went the next weekend, found the perfect ring, and I took it home that day...

who knows when we are going to get married... the "date" right now is whenever I graduate (2-2.5 years from now)... BUT, I almost have him convinced to move down here after Christmas, so if that happens, we could totally get married sooner...

That's my story, and I'm... sticking to it. (now if I could only stick to my diet the same way!!!)

It is great finding excuses to use your left hand, ain't it? Congratulations, girl! You are going to make one beeeeaaauuutttiiffffull bride!

ahhhh!!! I suck at this game!!! for my afternoon snack I packed a granola bar, but there were cookies with the free coffee in our break room this afternoon, and I ate one... which meant I didn't eat my granola bar...

to be honest however, I haven't really looked at the granola bars to see how "healthy" they are... they could have lots of calories from fat and sugar, and if so, they wouldn't be much better than the cookie... hmm...

*note to self* buy healthier granola bars... AND STICK WITH THE PLAN

Hey Katie I loved your story. Seems like you have the perfect relationship going on and thats awesome. So great that you have been together for so long, this way you know eachother so much better so everything will work out for you both. I talked to my hubby on the internet for a year and then he visited from England and I already knew I loved him and got pregnant right away with our daughter right away...oops. So he moved out 6 months later and now we have been married 5 years. Things happend a little faster for me. I wish we would of had a long relationship before marriage and all but its a little harder when you have to go through the whole us citizen visa thing with someone. But I wouldnt change things. Congratulations by the way. Oh and your food looks terrific. Doing much better then me I see. Keep up the great work. Group ! is totally gonna kick some butt. If I can stay motivated myself that would help.
