Kaitie's Open Diary

I'm actually contemplating buying a bathing suit this summer....something I haven't done in about 20 years. And on top of that...I'm actually looking forward to wearing my new bathing suit without a tee shirt on top! The thought is still a little scary but I think I'll be happy with the results.

The scale is totally playing tricks on me. I stepped on it last night and it said 157.5 (knew that was totally wrong) and this morning it said 167--so yeah, the scale must think it's hilarious to project the wrong numbers. I guess I'll just have to wait until the scale starts behaving again.

Oh Oh Oh! I have some irony for ya'll! Remember how I said that I hated staff development b/c they always suck, and how a guy in the district did a horrible presentation this last time----well I know for a fact that our next staff development isn't going to suck, why you ask? or perhaps you've already guessed....Wahoo, lucky me! I get to do a presentation on January 31st. I'm actually looking forward to it, I really want to get these other teachers to be motivated to make their band programs into typical programs--no more excuses of 'inner city', 'bad kids', etc... If I can do it, so can they and yes...it's freakin' hard, and yes you do have to do things 'outside the contract' but if you want a great band (or even a sucky band) you've got to work at it. So, at least I know 1 staff development day this year won't suck. :)

props to you for plannin on the baithing suit-i have the same problem with the whole cover up issue, but i dont go anywhere without shorts attatched to mine. hopefully we can both enjoy JUST the bathin suit this summer!

Congrats Kaitie! Sounds like your presentation is going to be highly motivating!!

I actually can't wait to buy a bathing suit in the spring...I needed one anyway. Haven't bought one in years.

Sounds great Kaitie...sounds like the words spoken from someone you really cares adn puts 100% + into their work...we need more influences like you invovled with our children

o/~ those school girl days ... of telling takes and biting nails are gooooooone ... but how do you thank someone who has taken you from crayons to purfume ....

Oh wait thats "To Sir, with love" ... it should be "To Katie, with love" :D

Good for you putting things in the right order - to many lazy cow teachers who dont give a rats ass about the kids. Good luck reving them up and putting a bomb under their ass :)

Hello everyone!!!

Today was fine, I have an observation tomorrow but seeing as how my supervisor asked me to do a staff development day over teachers who have been in the district for 10+ years I'm not to worried. I'm not being cocky or anything, just that she wouldn't have asked me if she didn't already think I was good--know what I mean?

Anyway, exercises for today:

3.5 miles on the bike (102 calories)
125 sit-ups
60 rotary torsos
75 adductions
75 abductions

169 is eluding me and my scale is completely misbehaving but I shall be patient. :) I'm doing the right things so soon enough the numbers will magically appear.

Randomness: We gave the dog this rawhide bone thing and he's been goin' at it for about 2 1/2 hours now---it's like the perfect little dog-sitter!

Hi Kaitie!! Congrats on the presentation!! I agree - you must be doing something right if she chose you over the old pros!! Go You!! :D:D

katie bug!!!!
you sound like a motivated woman!!!!! I know you will kick ass with y0ur presentation........and you totaly impress me with your dedication to thoes kids!!! Teachers make such an impression and when it is good.......well it lasts a life time!!!!!! so yeah good job dude! STAR

Hi Kaitie, Glad you get to do a presentation!! That's awesome!! I'm so glad for you that you are planning on getting a bathing suit!!!

Kaitie... It sounds like things are looking up for you!! You are doing fantastic with your weight loss.

Speaking of bathing suits... I have had mine since I was close to 170... when I went swimming this summer (my mom has a pool), my mom came out to swim with us, she had on the VERY same swimming suit, you know, the black *slimming* tank bathing suit....   I was like... WTF!!! So I need a new one too...hehe.

What is the rawhide thing that you bought? I could use a dog sitter for my two little chihuahuas.

It was just this rawhide bone I bought at the supermarket. My dog is still chewing that freakin' thing!

Today was fine, observation was fine. The sky looked so ominous the entire day, I thought for sure that the heaven's were going to open up and dump a boat load of rain but it really just threatened all day.

I was giving my dog rawhide bones for a while until the dog trainer told me that its not good for them. They don't digest it well and stays inside of them for a long time. So I got this little toy thing, and it has a hole inside of it kinda, and you put smelly food in it like pepperoni or a smelly dog treat, and the dog tries to get it out, and it really makes them occupied for a long time. Also, nylabones are good. Anyway, just a tip.

It looks like you're doing pretty good, congrats on everything, wow. :D

My little chihuahua looves her Kong Ball (the thingy with the whole that you put the treat in).. I just have to say 'want your Kong Ball??' and she spazzes out. She also has a nylabone that she has with her all the time. It's like her pacifier..lol

Have a great Friday Kaitie!! :D:D

Hello everyone!

My band is sounding better...I hate teaching in the freakin' hall...but all of my drums are here so I'm ready to start my new drumline. I have no idea how I'm going to do it but I'm excited about it!

Exercises for today:

8 miles on the bike (225 calories)
150 sit-ups
30 overhead presses
30 leg lifts
40 sitting row
60 sitting leg presses
60 adbuctions
60 adductions

ooo I used to play the drums when i was like 13-14. Then we moved and mum put me into a girls school which deemed drums were not "girly" ergo you played the piano or violin or a bland wind instrument :/
I was into guitar and drums (mostly drums) and very much a tomboy :/

Good luck with the band!

Ooo I love the drums!! Never played but they were always my favorite part of the band.

Nice workout!! Have a great Saturday!! :D:D:D
