Oh my goodness that Kakaos Kalacs looks delicious I am so envious!!! Chicken paprikas? Yum!!! And so happy the bureaucracy cleared up! Always such a sigh of relief when that happens. I hate photos of myself as well...and hide behind people in pictures the same way, ha! I honestly don't think I'd like photos of myself even if I were at my fittest.
You are giving me such yummy ideas for food. I need to start taking notes when I visit your diary
Don I will email you the recipe later today - I am about to juice now & after that gym time!! Woohooo.... I need to step up the exercise - I wanna lose weight this week. It seems to be going so slow... I think one hour a day is not enough. I wanna look good on those pictures..I am so VAIN! & impatient..
Camila - kakaós kalacs is amazing. Chicken paprikas is my all time favorite food! I do it once a month usually As for photos - why do you think you wouldn't look good on them even if you were fit!! I bet you are a stunner!!
Hey Justina.... good work keeping your Easter chocolate in line...sounds like U didn't indulge too much....and you balanced with exercise ... good girl
Congrat's on the 3lbs. + 0.8lbs. down.... all the hard work is starting to show on the scale for ya ...
The lakeshore picnic with duckies sounds wonderful.... nothing like springtime to appreciate outdoors and mother nature...
.... I am with you & Don on pics... aacckk!! ...don't like mine much these days either...(although...I think my double-chin might be getting a wee-bit smaller... lol... .... but at least we are all doing something about it! .... we keep up our healthy eats & exercise...and we will all be much happier with our pictures...
Good Job on your Easter successes! Hear ya bout the pictures. Im pretty sure I look worse to myself than others but I just feel like I look so fat in pictures these days- especially in my face! My face looks sooo much slimmer when im <200 lbs.
At my boyfriends birthday gathering at the pub on the weekend I got a few good shots with some friends and their all like post them! But I dont want to because I look fat IMO. Which is lame obviously. Why even bother taking the pics?
Thanks Maryann - yeah, I have tried to be careful about portions! I had food that I usually don't have: ham+eggs+white bread+wine + chocolate - in one sitting I did not put on weight. Today I m back to my Saturday morning weight. So all good.
I love having a picnic by the lake - just as well we did it yesterday - today - it's raining again..yay.not.
Photos - i take pictures of me every 2 months for comparison purposes. i swear I can't see the difference between then (+20lbs) and now...I hope and pray that the next 20lbs will be visible!
Thanks Quercus for stopping by!
I certainly did Mystic - thanks for stopping by!
slickzchik Thanks! Same here about the pic!! Under <200 lbs & i actually look pretty good!! Man!!! 55lbs to go!! *cry*
---------------------------------------------
A quick morning update. Last night I decided to ditch the gym for the outside track & it was fab!! I just love exercising in the fresh air! It is lit at night - so I was totally good to go! It really is the perfect weather for the track... 18C (60s F) - give it a few weeks and I won't be able to do anything outside because of the humidity and heat.
I woke up at 4.30am this morning..way too early. I could not go back to sleep. So I continued with my statistics course with Toronto uni. It is pretty enjoyable I have to say (translation: i understand it!!!) - I only had trouble with the software - it is optional but I wanted to give it a go..For some reason it's not working as it should. Oh well.
I am making Italian Minestrone with Pasta & Beans soup today for the first time - it should be fun!
Thank you for the recipe for Paprikas, Justina! It is on my menu for later this week.
The minestrone looks GREAT! Is that cilantro or parsley on top? Looks like parsley, but I can't be sure. On my menu later today is Thai green curry with chicken, bamboo shoots, carrots and lotus root. Mmmm.
We need to put together a cookbook for healthier eating.
Your lunch looks absolutely delicious! I agree with Don that you two need to create a healthy eating cookbook...I'd be first in line to buy ( just includes lotssss of detailed instructions for non-cooks like me ).
Hah you've asked about the wine...I am currently enjoying it. It is an organic white table wine (it cost me a whole $4) so it is not exactly decadent but I am appreciating the fact that it is organic above anything else.
So I know that you are in project management are you taking these courses for a reason (pursue a higher degree? fulfill reqs?). Until I graduated I never realized how much I would miss school, haha! I have been thinking more and more about going back to get my MBA. Hearing about you in Stats makes me really miss my own Stats class!
So Happy it is in the 60s for you...wish I could say the same. Enjoy it while it lasts!
Don - thanks!! It is flat parsley on top! It was yum!!! I had it for dinner too (leftover) - My husband was so full from lunch - he couldn't even have dinner - amazing how the right ingredients can fill you up.! Healthy book idea sounds good!
Camila - yep - you should join us in to make that health book- you are doing some awesome meals yourself missy!
Your organic wine is cheap & white!! I wanted white organic - they only have red here...and it's not $4 -it's the double - so I don't really buy it often - once a month.
About the courses: i am doing them because I have time - I have been living in a place (middle of nowhere) where it has been impossible for me to get a job. Getting a master sounds good - but not on the cards for me right now. I have to start earning some money - rather than spending it. I have BSc degree in Int Business -can't wait until we move this summer.
Cory - thanks! Yeah, weather is back to "meh" : rainy and cold. I hope it gets better for the weekend.
Mystic - thanks - i hope you guys can be rid of the snow!!! We are heading towards May already!!!
This week is going so slow - I can't believe it's only Wednesday. I really can't wait for the weekend.
I am so happy it's finally April - some interesting things are starting to happen in the area - after a loooong and booooring winter.
We have the strawberry fest in the end of this month - I hope it's warm enough for the strawberries to actually grow!
& then we are going to Michigan for a wedding in the first weekend May.
& then the Greek fest here in May, and a weekend away somewhere for Memorial weekend....
Finally things to look forward to.
Allrighty.

S: BANANA with my new favorite: RAW coco-cacao heavenly !!
L: Chicken parpikas with spetzleView attachment 20443
S: Blueberries
D: Tuna salad
Ahh your food always looks so delicious! I am jealous!!
Warmer weather always brings that general sigh of relief. It's nice. And of course it is wedding season! I am using upcoming weddings as motivation to get in tip top shape!
Also, that's a great idea to take those classes just because. You never know when they will come in handy!
Chicken paprikas was one of the favorites from the Hungarian side of my family. It was a lot of chicken paprikas and stuffed cabbage on special occasions growing up. Never did like the stuffed cabbage, but the chicken pop-ree-kosh was yummy.
Thanks for the recipe, Justina! If not this weekend, I'll make it next week. I was going to do it yesterday, but my wife surprised me and made spanakopita! Yum. I ate spinach every meal yesterday. Wow.
Good job hitting the gym. and all the working out!! Wow I must get moving myself I just kind of feel stuck in one place....I wanted to thank you for stoping by my journal and after two days I finally read yours!!! Good job the food looks great!
Camila - thanks! Wedding season is indeed motivation! I have to get in shape for my own wedding!!! It's next spring! So I have a year - I kind of want to get to my goal weight by the end of this year the latest & just tone and maintain after that. I know,I know: aren't I already married? Yes. But we just eloped in a random j.o.p living room - no witnesses (no state requirement) - just me and my husband- many reasons behind it - but mainly my husband's job. Now that his job is over, we can finally plan a wedding (well 2 actually hahha) !!!
Cory - sent you recipe in an email.
Mystic - yep, can't wait for these months to come! Yippie!
MrVee - Chicken paprikas is my fave food. Period. Stuffed cabbage - depends how it's made. I had terrible one, but I also had some divine one! I have never made it myself.
Don - you are very welcome! What is spanakopita btw? I guess it has spinach...
Verobc - Thanks for stopping by!! Yeah, I was hanging out on the site yesterday when I saw your sweets craving post! I can so relate - I gave up chocolate for lent & I was craving it for most of those 6,5 weeks!!!
For some reason, the whole day I keep thinking it's Friday. I am not feeling too well: mixture of dizziness & headache (no too bad) ...I think it's down to lack of sleep.. I went to bed at 12, was up at 6am...or some bad news I got from home.
The weather is still cr@p...rain. So I was stuck inside the whole day. My husband took the car to work today.
The highlight of my day was grocery shopping this afternoon! I love that! I made a kicka$$ menu for the coming week too!! WELL UNDER BUDGET!
I am trying 2 new dishes too - so exciting.
I am skipping the gym today - it's time for some well needed sleeping.
oh also, yesterday I accidentally found a website yesterday about massage video tutorials (scalp, foot, back, hands etc) OMG !!! I made my husband do the scalp massage on me 2x!!! I think that might help me with the headache today!!!
Food today:
B: Banana with coco-cacao & latte
S: Apple
L: Tojásos nokli with salad
S: Everything bagel, Strawberries tea...
D: Not quite sure...just finished my fruit - plus I had the bagel earlier...not hungry
