Justina: Back to square one - very excited & determined to do this right

7 lbs!!!!! Awesome job, girly! :) Have fun at the gym!!

Thanks! The gym was a drag.. I wasnt up to it at all.

Outstanding work on the 7 pounds. Don't worry about the stalling or even the scale so much. Just stick with the plan and the weight will come. When you lose weight this quickly, it sometimes slows down for a few days while your body adjusts (I've got fours months of my own weight data that demonstrates this well). Just keep at it and it will start down again.

Thanks for your support MrVee. It happened - it stalled lol..i m still determined though..!

Wow great work Justina, sometimes weight loss is so hard and sometimes it seems simple.... I wonder why that is?

Thanks sweetie! I guess maybe the body has to recover from a shock. In my case exercizing: "oh my god - i m getting exercize!" lol. Not it has adjusted - it's gonna go slow.

Hey Justina - congrat's on 7 pounds down - super start !

And the belly-dancing sounds fun .... shake those hips girl ....

Thanks Maryann!! :)

:svengo:
7 lbs?!
:svengo:
You are doing AWESOME Justina!!! Keep it up :D  and WOW those salads look totally amazing!

Lol yeah!! THANKS! & THANKS again!

Uff! What a day yesterday!! I was in a bad mood and somehow everything that crossed my way annoyed me or made me mad!
I was angry at the world! You know, not big things, just small ones.
Like I read some news portal from home (you should never read politics if you want a peace of mind), then I went to the gym.
My eliptica machine is located in front of screen -that shows Food Network. I mean really???? Why would you put that channel on in a gym? Oh & it's set so that you can't change it. There are about 8 screens in the gym - at the cardio section. Then I went on the bike - & I had the local/national news channel. More bad news. It was totally doing my head in! I couldn't concentrate. i was bored with my music.. :nopity:
Oh and i weighed myself in the gym. BAD BAD mistake! You should always stick to one scale!!
Then I went to pick up my husband after his work. When i got there I found out he would be another 30 mins! I was exploding! Lol. I didn't want to wait in a freezing car. You see small things...
I think it's frustration that I don't have a job - and I am not happy. Before moving here I was so active: workwise & socially. We don't really know people here. My husband is from a different state & we are just here because of his job...another 18 months. Ugh..

So anyway on a more positive note, I bought a small bottle of champagne for our anniversary next Sunday.
& I am also planning to do a few online courses. Have you guys heard of coursera.org? They offer free courses from top universities. The only catch is that you don't get a degree. However you can still study & broaden your horizon. So I am going to do the Mini Med School of Stanford. Then there is a course starting end of February (Duke University) - Introductory Human Physiology. This will run for 12 weeks. And it does give a certificate if successfully completed.

As for the food. I did pretty well. I ended up buying a luna bar though - it s a chocolate covered coconut - one of those health bars. & It s heaven :)
My weight has not changed. Scale is same as yesterday.

Today's menu:
B: Ezekiel bread + blueberry jam + herbal coffee latte
S: Banana + raw cacao nibs
L: Rice with tomato curry (got a recipe from my Indian friend - so simple, so deelish!)
S: Defrosted blueberries/grapefruit
D: Greek salad (Spinach, Onion, Tomato, Cucumber, Olives, Feta Cheese)

Exercise: either bellydancing or some youtube video (bodysculpting) - havent decided yet.

Good day you all! :grouphug:

Yesterday I had these major cravings for chips (crisps), which is weird, as I usually never eat them!
So I ended up having my "fake" coffee for comfort. There's nothing fake or coffee about it. lol. Well, the offical name is herbal coffee. And I love it - it tastes like vanilla!
Drinking the coffee did not help much, so I ended up going to fashion websites & looking at dresses. Now there's a motivation! :)
One of my best friends has just started dieting & which is so cool!! She lives across the country though -so it's all about Skype- calling each other - to keep each other updated on our progress. It was great to catch up with her yesterday.
So I ended the day on a good note. Not to mention that my husband was let off work at 4pm (instead of 10) because of the snow. My exercise was cut short though. (30 mins instead of an hour) Aww well, my foods were good.

Today I am having:
B: Ezekiel bread toasted + jam + latte

S: Banana + raw cacao nibs

L: Pasta + pesto rosso (my absolute favourite - I can't buy this brand here - so I brought 8 jars back with us when we went to Europe for Christmas.) +olives + tuna

S: Mixed berries (defrosted)

D: Sauerkraut salad (sauerkraut, apple, onion, lemon/ev.olive oil dressing) - Not my favorite, but will do.

I will definitely doing an hour exercise today. I will update my diary later.

Justina you will surely succeed like this. Excellent ways to overcome temptation--focus on your goal and get support from friends. I'm so happy you found an offline friend to journey with and I will definitely implement this looking at clothes bit to overcome temptations as well.

Food sounds great with the exception of that sauerkraut thing...:ack2:

Hope the exercise went well and you have a great day today!!!!!!!!!!!

Keep up the fine work and the fresh eats. Those look good.

Thanks MrVee!

Thanks Xenon!! You are so sweet!! It was hard - trust me!! But yeah, looking at pretty cloths and imagining people's reaction is defo motivating! Try it!

Your food looks great!! Good luck with that exercise today! :)

Thanks Jen!

I am on the munch today....So hungry..I just feel like snacking like ALL THE TIME. ToM is close.
So far I manged to fight cravings...well i had an extra banana - I was not supposed to have. But it's not much damage.
But on the bright side I did 30 mins belly dancing.

More exercise on the way, will update diary later.

well, well, well...i just gave in. See, this is a bad thing when i have the car...:auto:
I drove all the way to the grocery store & bought 2 luna bars (chocolate covered coconut)...
they add up to 360 calories...
Good thing I had a gym session scheduled.
I was on the eliptica for 60 mins (which by the way much easier than last time!) & burnt over 600 kcal!!
Yay!!!

So it's all good in the end. I am afraid I am retaining water now...ToM :(
Not even looking forward to getting on the scale tomorrow.

Hey, thanks for stopping by my diary. Haven't been able to read through your whole thread but saw that you found a diet buddy! That's great! It's so good to have someone to be accountable too.
360 calories over isn't so bad, yesterday I ate 3100 calories!! That's 600 over MAINTENANCE!! Whoops.Hate ToM though!!

Thanks Mystic for stopping by! Yep, having a diet buddy is great. That best would be to have one living in my area. Having people online is awesome too!! I enjoy reading people's diaries, achievements -it's very inspirational.
well, for me every treat counts - you know - sometimes I feel like I m on the "see-food" diet with a twist - I see the food and it's on my hip - haha!

Haven't tried the elliptical in a while. Even when everything else was going well, the elliptical made my quads burn something fierce. Enough to force me to stop. 60 minutes on that thing sounds like literal torture to me, so great job on the workout. :)

Thank you!! For me it's easier than jogging or any other bouncy exercises - it's pretty stationery, yet it burns tons of calories in an hour. I much rather do something fun - like zumba etc..my body is not built for that. I guess one has to find what's best for one's body!

Ugh.. I hate TOM. I usually want to eat everything in sight...lol! Great job on the exercise! :)

Yup...I can relate - lol..and it's mostly not spinach in sight, right?

Hang in there, good work with the exercise

Thanks for dropping by! :)
