Yeah, a good nights sleep in between, I'm coping better with the glasses. Everything seems doll-house small and in a slightly different angle than what I got used to.. I had to wear contact lenses for two weeks, because the the coating of the lenses of my glasses was somehow damaged and they had to be replaced. Fortunately the contact lenses are quite good nowadays. I can't imagine doing that five years ago. My eyes wouldn't tolerate contacts for more than about 5 hours at a time... Now, two weeks all day everyday, almost no problems. It's nice to have the glasses back though. Just takes a bit of getting used to. Last time I got new ones it took me 3 weeks to adjust, some vomiting included. I have a feeling this time will be a lot easier! :)

We'll see about that. I'm going through some pretty weird hormonal things right now. I had my normal stomach pains on Tue, but my period hasn't started yet. Have some pain today too. My tummy looks and feels really bloated, but my weight is not up, as usually, at least not yet. I know that caloric deficit can affect the hormones, but I don't think my deficit's been that big or that I've been in deficit for so long. I'm just waiting for this to go away...
So, at least for the next weigh-in, I'm not expecting too much.
Plus my sister is visiting me from Fri to Sun, and a friends birthday picnic will be on Sunday afternoon, which will change my original workout plan for this week. Eating I can do much as usual, but I don't want to desert my sis for three hours on Sat and go to the gym. I'll do a long walk with her instead. Sunday's pretty much a rest day (originally planned for Fri) and I'll do exercise on Friday.
Thanks for the nice comments yesterday, everybody! I just love to wake up in the morning and see my diary's been busy! :D
Today I'll run some chores in the city centre, do a weight training session if the pain doesn't get worse and I think some house cleaning is in order for my sis to feel at home tomorrow... ;)

I guess you really DO like walking - 10 miles every day! That's just...intense! But yes, I don't think you'd be able to walk that much and still weight train, so you're totally right there.

Do you walk with your glasses? I do (except when I'm wearing contact lenses).

You're going to leave this plateau really soon with your new program - I can sense it :)

The nausea is going, the vision is sharpening. And yes, I do walk with my glasses on (or contacts) because otherwise I'd be constantly bumping into anything smaller than an elk. Can't see anything without.. Fortunately it's fully fixable with glasses or contacts.
A good weights session today. I had the weights room at the gym mostly for myself. I haven't quite decided how to do with the rest of the week. Now it seems my sister might be leaving Sunday morning, so I could maybe squeeze in a weights session then. I sure can't do it tomorrow, today was too intense for repeating it so soon. And Saturday is out of the question, except for some walking with my sister.
Well, I'll leave it till tomorrow morning and play it by ear then..

Good morning!
I decided not to go to the gym today. Although it would've been a sensible thing schedulewise, I don't want to put my body through 3 consecutive days of hard training. I feel a bit stiff and just generally tired today. So walking only today, walking with my sister tomorrow and back to the gym if I can find the time on Sunday. If not, then on Monday, no problem there either.
My sister arrives in three hours, and I'll probably return here sometime Sunday evening. I'll try to behave myself in the meantime, you do the same! :cool:

Good plan on resting and not putting your body through more intensive workouts. Enjoy the rest and have fun with your sis!
 
You deserve the break, so ENJOY it, you've earned it!! And great job on listening to your body, if it's telling you it's tired, then it certainly needs the time off. :jump: I hope your visit with your sister is a BLAST!! My sister is my best friend, so anytime we get together it's a great day!! I look forward to hearing all about it when you return.

I have truly enjoyed my free weekend. We had very relaxing time with my sister and my friends birthday picnic this afternoon was fun. The break from thinking about eating and exercise was also welcome. My period finally started yesterday, so no more worries about that either.
Right now I'm just mentally tired but very happy. My brain is in such a relaxed state that might be in order.
Tomorrow is a weigh-in day and because of my period I'm not expecting much of a loss, since I tend to gather water enough to survive two weeks in desert environment and not let go of that until about a week later.
It feels great to go to the gym again tomorrow. All the physical tiredness is gone. Three days off of the calorie counting made me miss my planning. I feel I'm ready for a new week and I'm going to make it a good one. :D

I had a great day. Gym was good (except for all the people there, chose the wrong time). Got some work done (master-class..). Eating was fine. I was fighting the salad fatigue before the weekend. Now I managed to add some foods to make the salads more interesting and add some more bread (whole grain rye, nothing artificial in it), which is good for more fibre.
I've been avoiding rice and pasta to get all the fat in without going over in calories, but I wonder, if it would be beneficial to have high fat/high carb on alternate days. So avocado on one day, whole-grain rice or pasta next day. The amount of good fat I've been going for is really difficult to achieve unless I eat avocado. Since it's just me I cook for, it's a whole avocado or nothing. That brings the calories high, so I need to stay away from carbs those days to get all the protein in. And I really can't imagine my life long term without rice/pasta. That would lead to reckless pasta consumption when the craving would get too strong, and I'd rather not have that. Since I don't want to build my weight-loss on a lifestyle I can't maintain, I need to sort this out. I reckon I have no problem avoiding pasta/rice two days if I know I'll be eating one serving of it on the third. I think I'll try that.
If somebody is still awake at this point, my weigh-in today didn't happen. Or rather, it did. This is not for children to hear, so close your eyes and ears, kiddies! Yesterday: weight 66,7 kg (146.9 lbs). Today: weight 68,5 kg (150.9 lbs). That's four pounds gain overnight for those of you who, in your state of shock, can't do the math. Yes. That's what you get from exercising and good eating. Just kidding... :rolleyes: This just happens during my period, quite bad this time.. If the weight is gone by Thursday, I'll do the weigh-in then. It's exactly a week before my goal June 21st. If not, I'll just skip this week altogether. I can't do anything about this, so I'll just forget it. :eek:
Tomorrow I'm going for some serious cardio. It's probably going to rain, so gym in the morning and the rest of the day at home sounds like a good plan.
