Juliette cross-training for Romèo

Hey Juliette :)
Dont beat yourself up. Sometimes if I find myself wanting a little bed time snack, I know I am craving something in particular. So maybe it would be better to just make a bee-line(no pun intended ;)) for the small amount of chocolate. That way you may be satisfied without feeling too full.
Also, something I have learned is that sometimes when I go to bed on a full stomach, feeling badly about myself, I am more prone to have nightmares.
Cheer up hun! You will start to feel better soon. ;)

eeek that was a bad pic to scare the bejeebers out of me :O
I dislike wasps or bees - and worse yet allergic reactions are the worst!

Thanks Britta! I'm feeling better already, and firmly back on track. I woke up today an hour and a half before my alarm clock and was HUNGRY AS HELL. So just to inform myself I made an effort to count yesterdays calories anyway and came up with something in the maintenance range. So Much Ado About Nothing, really... It's more the feeling of not being in control that bothers me.
And you're right about the chocolate. Eating that FIRST might have done the trick. Need to remember that next time. :)

The wasp was wise enough to know when it had been beaten. Me 1 Wasp 0.

when i have these urges to eat what upsets me the most is exactly that feeling of being out of control. it sucks. so here's to being in control again :D
like britta i'm having nightmares when i go to sleep on a full stomach.
have a great day juli :)

Hey Juliette,

It sure sounds like you're PMS-ing. That out-of-control feeling that gets you when you least expect it. It's funny how it happens to us so often yet we never recognise it, neither can we do anything to prevent it! I guess it's all part of the mystery of being female...

Good luck with your planned weight training session at the gym. I was hoping to do one today, but I'm in too much pain from my last session so I'm sticking with cardio.

The walk might well do you good - I used to snap at my (now-ex) boyfriend quite a lot when I was PMS-ing, and he got the idea of taking me on long walks, which calmed me down. I hope the same thing works for you.

Oh, and what a nasty-looking wasp! I wouldn't ever want to get stung by something like that! It probably wanted a taste of the barbecue too...

Thanks, Lena, Mal and Rho!
I'm taking myself out for a walk now.
No gym, I just concentrate on gaining control of my poor aching stomach.
Tomorrow there's a good class at the gym and from Thursday I'm going back to the original plan.
I'll be back! :D
Julie

Take time out to pamper yourself...

Enjoy your walk, and use a hot water bottle if you can - it's helped me loads of times:)

Morning sunshine!! Hope your feeling better now!! Sorry I went to bed right after I posted last night it was midnight here and I was TIRED! You probably did get to much sun and then the late night snacking and PMS, Your body I'm sure is shaken up a bit. Just be sure to plenish it with plenty of fluids today. Don't worry about one bad night of snacking, you'll work it off at the gym or in your daily routine. Its funny I think several of us here are on the same cycle, I'm getting ready to start also, so I feel ya girlfriend!! :) Try to have a good day alright! I'll check on you later!!
~~HUGS~~ :hug2:

Thanks for those thoughts, ladies!
I'm back from my six mile walk and feeling great both psychologically and physically (well, the tummy ache's still there, but apart from that). :)
The first ten minutes was a bit slow and stiff, but then I got going. I went to the forest, since it's hot and sunny, and I chose right. It was fresh and cool in the shades. I've been avoiding walking for the reason that I want to get the weight training done, and some higher intensity cardio as well. But I wonder, if my condition would already allow me to walk daily in addition to that, not only when I'm not doing weights or cardio. As Felici put it, walking supports mental health.
I'm going to give my arms a little workout here at home now. Tomorrows class is all about abs&back&butt&legs.
There must be some kind of wasp migration season. One generation thrown out of the nest or something. They are everywhere, luckily the insecticide keeps them at bay. No fatalities, yet anyway.

Upper body weight training 20 min 100 cals
Eaten
cals 1743
prot 149
carb 116

I've been enjoying my freedom of choice in eating and exercise today. Didn't go to the gym, but opted for other exercise instead. Ended up a bit low on the carb side, but chose not to eat more today. Had carbs for a few days already yesterday. :)
It's 10 pm here and I have a glass of mineral water with lemon and a bottle of water right next to me. No unexplainable or other needs to eat anything outside my plan today. I quite enjoy the regained feeling of power. :D Maybe looking into this feeling might help me next time (=next month?).

After having gathered some more Julie Power with a decent nights sleep, I'm now off to the gym. Back in the afternoon.
Hold the fort!

Ha! We held the fort for you, and... and, I listened to Ella Fitzgerald sing on uTube. She's so good. Maybe Tuesday....la la la bab scaab-ee-da.

Hey Juliette,

D'you know - I feel very ashamed of myself. Here I am, feeling special with myself on the 10K walk I'm doing for charity on Sunday, and here you are, doing the same walk for pure leisure.. ah well, I suppose you've been doing it for a lot longer than I have. I'm positively lazy in comparison.. *boo hoo*

Ah well, pity party aside, I think the walk was a fantastic idea, for psychological health reasons, like you said.. I'm not sure why you avoided walking because of weight training? Does one interfere with the other? I didn't think that was possible. As long as you're not overstraining your body with too much exercise, I'd have thought you could combine your weight training with cardio, whatever the type..

Have fun at your arms, legs, bum and tum class...

Thanks, it's nice to come back to a warm diary!!! :D

It was mostly for the overstraining factor. I have the tendency to walk for hours and in April I managed to walk my legs to a baaaaaaad condition (miles on consecutive days 9, 9.5, 7, 6, 10... see, I'm just dum..). So I didn't want to mess the new start of weight training with too much of that. Now I'm ok, I think, and I'm taking the walking back to my program. Limit it a bit though... ;)
