Journey, Not A Destination

I've really been maintaining my journal over on my forum and this has become something like a neglected child. I feel bad. I'm going to try and update here more often again as I still have friends here.

Plus, it would be a pity to let this monster die, lol.

Training has been great as of late. I'm currently working on adding some muscle and strength back on. I lost a good bit training for my mountaineering trip last month.

Yesterday was a lower body strength day which included:

A1 - Box Squats 4x4
B1 - Speed Deadlifts 8x2
C1 - DB Walking Lunges 3x8
D1 - Reverse Crunches 3x12
D2 - Planks
E1 - DB Hammer Curls 3x12

This was preceded by a bunch of foam rolling work and some mobility stuff.

Mobility stuff as in hip stuff? :D

Some. Some had to do with the shoulder complex.

Things like birddogs, wall slides, YTLWs, scap pushups, etc.

Here's my daily update:

Another good workout yesterday. Went something like:

A1 - Flat Bench 4x4
B1 - DB Nuetral Grip Incline Bench 3x9
B2 - Medium Grip Cable Rows 4x9
C1 - Prone Trap Raises 3x12
C2 - External Rotations 3 x 12
D1 - Cable Pressdowns
D2 - Side Planks

Today is an off day which will be nice. It's supposed to hit 70 degrees here so I might go for a jog if my legs are up to it later today.

My mind has been fixated on warmer weather. I'm sick of the dreary look where it's normally overcast and the leaves are off the trees. I need some lush green and sunshine in my life! I'm hoping it's around the corner. I'm excited about having cookouts at my new place.

Mmm. I prefer to do my exercise on dark and windy nights.

Today is very nice outside, but the wind is a lot! But I am looking forward to cook outs too. And gardening. It's nice to be outside!

Yes.

Don't get me wrong... I like dreary days too. But when it comes to exercise, I much prefer nice weather. I'm just sick of being cold. And the weather is so volatile right now that it keeps teasing me with a random 70 degree day then drops right back down.

Not really, no. I prefer warm weather over cold. If I had it my way it would be 75 and no humidity year round. Unfortunately here, summers usually bounce around in the 90s and it gets real humid. But I'll still take that over the freezing cold.

I get like this towards the end of every winter. I think it's a function of feeling too cooped up.

:seeya: Steve! Okay I know this is suppose to mean 'See ya" but I use it as "Hello". LOL! Just stopping by. I agree with the warmer weather. When it's sunny ouside I want to be up and going and doing everything I can. But when it's cloudy and cold, of course I wanna be lazy and stay in the blankets.

Well, you have a Wonderful day. Oh yeah, Good job on your WOrkouts! Dont forget to be drinking your WATER!!

I know what you mean and I agree, although it's warmer and sunnier over this way. I'm looking forward to swimming naked in rivers at music festivals.

I just saw the coolest thing. I was out cooking on the grill and I walked down to the stream. There were some trout swimming up stream right along my property. Then a heron flew over head. Shortly there after 3 deer ran right through my yard.

These are all everyday occurrences. Cool nonetheless, but I'm used to them.

Then, something I've only seen once in my life and never up close like this...

An enormous bald eagle came swooping out of nowhere at the water. I suppose it was hunting fish. It landed right near me on a branch. It was one of the most beautiful things I've ever seen in the wild. I tried to grab my camera. I did happen to snap a shot from inside but of course the flash was on and you couldn't see anything.

I'm hoping it's nesting near by and I have a chance to see it again.

So awesome.

No, they're about 20 minutes west of me... very isolated.
