Journey, Not A Destination

Cant wait for te blog.. :D

punkin' head - you need some serious lessons in negativity - i'm a pro trust me -you ain't even an amateur negative nellie... you're positively perky or osmething :)

Haha, I guess it all depends on what certain individuals constitute negativity as. Is it constitute? Or confuse?

:p

I'm pretty stoked for the blog too. There's a lot of days I have a lot to say and that will be the perfect place for me to vent that. Hopefully Gordy will make an appearance or two as well. I know he's been thinking about starting a training log to track his own training on the forum. But that's a little premature I think.

his training log would be interesting (and intimidating) to see...

just because i'm sure he's like you -a nd not the do what i say not what i do school of training -he probably busts his very cute behind just like you do :)

(oooh flattery and lechery in one sentence -damni'm good :)

Hahaha....

Gord does train very hard. I'd say he trains harder than me in some instances. He certainly get into the gym a lot more than me. It helps that it's his full time job, lol.

Gordy really stopped training for physique. He trains to get stronger and perform better. And tries to do so while not getting fat, lol. He has great genetics and is actually getting very strong.

Last I heard he's shooting for a 500 lb deadlift, a 400 lbs squat, and a 315 bench.

News flash for those who are not aware: I have 13,000 posts here and they are all negative. I hate fitness and I hate health. My intent in life is to be a negative nelly and bring people down.

mmkthanx.

So, today I'm going over to sign the paperwork for the house and discuss with the seller things such as firm settlement date and a few little nuances as for who is paying for what. It should be finalized today. I'm pretty excited though there is a lot of work to be done soon.

I'm pretty tired, I didn't get home from Gordy's until 3 last night. We got a lot of work done on the site though and discussed some big picture goals of ours. It was nice to get the 'fire stoked' again. It's been dormant for far too long.

I think I'll be releasing my blog next week. Think being the key word there.

So I guess you need a new nick name....I think Mr. Negativity is taken...negative nelly....not catchy enough. How about the Grinch of Health and Fitness? lol So let me guess...you had to field another bozo who came to the forum with a chip on their shoulder? Takes all kinds I guess but there are some seriously strange people out there.

Anyway really glad your house stuff is goin through, you guys gotta be starting to really get excited now. Just think...after that's all settled then the fun begins...the MOVING part :X Ok dun smack me, lol. Hope it goes smoothly :) ~Lisa

Hey Lisa.

It actually wasn't the typical run in. Things were smoothed over sensibly which is always nice to see. Rare but nice. :)

Moving will be easy as hell. I've helped a ton of my buddies move over the last couple of years so I have favors to collect on. Between me, my dad and a few friends we have 6 pickup trucks and one huge enclosed trailer. We'll actually be able to move in one big trip.

In addition, the new house has doors leading outside on each of the 3 floors so moving in won't be so tough.

NICE! Now that's the way to do it :) Is this house bigger than what you're living in now? If so unpacking will even be easier with all the extra space.

We never had a den AND a livingroom and we haven't had time to look for a couch yet so...yea our livingroom is still empty except for a fishtank, lol. Well and a tv so I'm going to hook up the vcr and use it for my exercise videos for now and hope I don't fall on my butt on the pergo floors, lol. Anyway thanks for swinging by my journal...I think I actually will try to go to sleep again. I work nights and I've tried to go to sleep twice now and wasn't workin. Have a good weekend~Lisa

Uhhhh......is this in response to something I'm not aware of? :bigear:

Lisa: The grinch of health and fitness! LOL!!!!

Steve: So good news on the inner-knee strain/issue: I've just been working on consciously stretching further and using breath control to take my mind away from the pain. So, I'll stretch to where I feel pain, stop, breath in, then breath out and see if I can lean further; then repeat until I decide I can't take it anymore and I lean out carefully. The inner knee seems to be getting better......slowly. I can stretch further now than when I was doing less yoga. The breathing technique works really well. I haven't tried MFR but might depending on how things go. Thanks again, have a great day!

Yeah, haven't you seen? He's a regular Fitness Curmudgeon. :biggrinjester:

I think that 'negative nelly' POV may stem from Steve's innate ability to call bullshit when he sees it. Or maybe that he challenges people to think, rather than blindly follow an idea?

Some people can be offended by strong opinions.

Right, Steve?:willy_nilly:

makes perfect sense! the Boulder Creek church has a new saying on its sign, and it reminds me of Steve, in a way :D

STOP TALKING

Interesting weekend in Financial land... Hope you're had a nice restful weekend and are having a great day

Yea, tell me about it. Quite the day today too, on the market.

Hey Steve-O! Hope you had a good weekend and I hope you have a good week ahead of you!!! :)

Thanks homie, and backatcha! :)

That's great news. There's a book called "Stretch to Win." They discuss the benefits of deep breathing in relation to stretching in that. They also describe a stretching technique that involves thinking of the stretch and your entire body as a wave... with each deep breath you sink deeper into the stretch. Very similar to what you're talking about here.

Right, Steve?:willy_nilly:

Ohhh, curmudgeon.... there's a word you don't see often enough. :p

Thanks though, b/c my presentation really is an attempt to get people to think outside the rigid lines most are accustomed to in this field.

Yea, I hate bullshit too... but there's a huge difference between someone slinging bullshit and someone simply being unknowing.

Curmudgeon... its one of my favorite words. I have a couple friends, old artist types, I call them The Curmudgeons. Couple of my favorite people. :biggrinjester:

You know, I hear "visualization" all the time and only about a year or two ago did I start incorporating that concept into many aspects of my life, only to find that it works like MAGIC. 2 thumbs up!! My current signature picture has my right leg all pushed to the limits and I can still manage that stretch. Even though that's my "bad" side, so whoopty doo!! :D

So I am taking the week off from the gym. I'm just too rundown and stress is stress, have it be from everyday living or physical activity. My "bucket" is filled to the brim and adding anymore would be silly. That's an important concept I think a lot of people overlook. They fret about a week off destroying any and all progress, which is also silly.

There's nothing wrong causing the stress. It has simply been an insanely busy month with work, the house and the website now.

The good news is I've been getting a ton of work done on all fronts.

And WE GOT THE HOUSE! We don't have a precise settlement date yet but we will be in the house sometime in November. :)

Oh I'm a big fan of visualization. Your mind has a tough time (as in it can't) deciphering fact from fiction. Play an imagination or visualization in your head, and your brain will react as if it really happened.
