Journey, Not A Destination

Thanks MJB. The book I'd love to have done by the year end but if I'm not in the mood, the words simply don't flow. All stars must be aligned. It's nothing earth shattering... just a basic fitness book for my clients.

What sort of book were you writing?

I know radon fluctuates with weather. It can be high one day and low the next. But the fact remains that it's still over the safe threshold.

I think they said Brady did tear something...but I'm not sure what. I saw a snapshot of when the injur occured... looked pretty brutal.

That's rough. I thought I heard last night they were saying they don't think there are tears but I haven't researched it further today. Like him or not, it's always shitty to go down with an injury like that.

I agree, I wouldn't want anyone to suffer a tear-injury!

I hope the writers' block goes away and you can freely flow your book!

have a fantastic day in the Present :D

You're right, you can't force creativity when it comes to writing. It is either there or it isn't.

The book that I started is about dating, internet dating, a tell all, comedy of modern dating. It has some good stories so far.

I was doing quite a bit of research for a while there, but then took a break. I'll pick it back up probably after the new year again. I might just hand it over to my film buddies, perhaps it will make a good short.

I'll have to look at the radon info online. I was curious what kind of weather makes it go up? Heat? Humidity?

Very cool, I didn't realize you liked writing. I hope you pick it back up. :)

I think radon fluctuates more with pressure than anything else, but I can't remember.

10.3

I'm not sure what metric they were using, I'm assuming it's standard and you'll know.

That's fairly high, but I've heard of readings in the East over 60. 4 is usually when they recommend an abatement system.

That's a tough loss, losing Brady. Did they say if he tore something yet?

I heard it's a knee injury and that he's out for the season.

Interesting tid bit for you. They didn't realize radon was a problem in homes until a gentleman was tripping the radiation detector at the Limerick Power Plant when he was coming into work. The power plant happens to be very close to my current and new home.

Turns out his basement was releasing the highest recorded radon reading ever. It was 100,000 or some crazy shit. They said it was equivalent to smoking 135 packs of cigarettes per day or 460,000 chest x-rays or something like that.

Thankfully it isn't that bad, lol.

"This is the beginning of a new day. You have been given this day to use as you will. You can waste it or use it for good. What you do today is important because you are exchanging a day of your life for it. When tomorrow comes, this day will be gone forever; in its place is something that you have left behind...let it be something good."

Good one...makes you stop and think before wasting your life (one day at a time). Today I am at work...I am creating good for my employer but not so much for myself. Hum...not sure how to switch that around. Got 10hrs left to do something about it! LOL

Personally, if I dedicate an hour per day on myself, I feel fantastic. Sometimes this is as simple as going to the gym. But anymore, I don't count that. I shoot for an hour per day of something such as writing my book, reading a book, learning something new, managing my perceptions, being creative....

When I live by this, I truly feel I'm at my best.

:iagree: It took me a while to realize what I needed in terms of this, to function at optimum. It actually takes me more than just whatever workout I'm doing for the day--the morning yoga and the evening meditation/journal writing really helps me, along with making myself dinner. When I was running around, partying with friends I had fun, but I feel better on this type of schedule.

I won't lie. There are days that I get 15 minutes. And that's it. But as long as I do something. Lately it's mostly reading but my type of reading really is developmental as a professional so not only do I enjoy it and it relaxes me, but it also builds me.

Can I bottle you up and drink you Steve? I love the way you think. It's refreshing to know someone like you that thinks bigger than just the immediate mundane tasks we do each day to get through the rat race. You stimulate me.

Oh here's a quote I read and liked from The Seven Spiritual Laws of Yoga that can be applied to anyone's life whether they do yoga or not (IMO):

"Whatever you place your attention on grows in importance to you. Whether your attention is on building a business, becoming physically fit, improving a relationship, or developing a spiritual practice, the object of your attention is enlivened by your awareness and becomes a more predominant force in your life. By learning to value your attention as a precious commodity, you will be able to consciously create success and well-being in life. An essential component of yoga is refining your attention in order to facilitate healing and transformation in your body/mind.

"Once you activate something with your attention, your intentions have a powerful influence on what things manifest in your life. According to yoga, your intentions have infinite organizing power. Your intention may be to heal an illness, create more love in your life, or become more aware of your own divinity. Simply by becoming clear about your intentions, you will begin to see them actualize in your life. When your awareness is established in being and you have a clear intention, nature rallies to help fulfill your deepest desires."
