Journey, Not A Destination

Thanks Steve. :)

Dang, I just used it and man does that hurt yer butt. lol

I think I could have stayed on longer but it felt like it was about to fall off.

Maybe I should pick up some depends to wear for cushion? :D

Wonder why they don't make the seats more comfy?

Kinda silly if ya ask me. :toetap05:

You can get a seat cover at a bike shop for 10-20$. I have a gel one for my mountain bike. Definitely worth the cash.

Thanks. It actually should not be too big of a deal. The surgery was to remove a mass at the base of my index finger, about the size of a big gum ball.
It had been growing for years but never affected much. I am hoping the incision is in the same general location- if it is it will not affect much, I will need to buy gloves though. I do not want to be a glove guy but I will need to be.

Oh, that's good to hear. Real good... there's nothing worse than wanting to train and being held back by an injury. I've been there a number of times and I equate it to hanging a piece of meat outside the cage of a dog. Sucks!

Agreed. I am getting so ticked not being able to use weights.

Wasn't even allowed to do cardio until yesterday.
Torture!

Hey Steve, do you have any objections to front squats being in the same workout as back squats and dead lifts? Haha - I like to really hammer my posterior chain.

Also, which order do you think would "generally" be best?

I'm not a fan of deads and squats in the same workout at all. I like pounding out something heavy and big like squats OR deads than do some pumping and toning bullshit.

One leg day might be heavy, deep squats and romanians.

The second might be conventional deads and fronts.

But never do I do full back squats and conventional deads.

Doesn't mean you can't.

I just don't like to.

Morning Steve...I just wanted to thank you - I reread the scale mentality due to some bullshit problems I was having and b/t that and a good yelling at I received, I have appeared to get myself back on track...I started measuring and saw a change from last week to this.

So anyway, it is long-winded and all, but thanks for writing that :)

Me too - half (probably more than half) of this is mental and that is the part that screws me every single time. I just need to remember it the next time I hit the bump (because we all know there will be a next time).

Most people forget about the management of expectations and when that happens, emotions take control and rationality goes out the window.

Oh, I hear ya on that....I just went through that myself. It was hard for me to take two steps back and work my way forward again. I am using a 15 lb kettle bell this week and hope to be back to the 18 lb next week. Hip hip hurray! :)

Morning Steve! Just wanted to let you know that the tummy is finally softening. My body has decided that it wants to redesign where and when the fat is coming off. A little unsettling but it's making me appreciate some other things... like my back. Also I found a perk to not having the weight on the front of my torso melt off... that's probably the bigger part of keeping a sock in my mouth.

And for a nutritional question... I like to use eggs as my morning protein but I've heard that eating more than one egg a day isn't good for the cholesterol. I tried eating those Egg Beaters but honestly, fake eggs suck. So if I'm following a good diet, can I eat two of those suckers five days a week?

Kettle bells are fun. :)

Glad to hear you're back at it!

They do sell real egg whites in a carton, that's what I use. I'll check what brand it is when I get home for you... if I don't remember, shoot me a PM.

I wouldn't sweat the whole eggs though.

Thanks edco & Steve for the bike seat suggestions. :seeya:

lol Steve re: the pillow...

I tell ya, the bike sure has inspired us all..

Hubby - Son - and I can't wait to get on it and then beat each other's time/distance.

I didn't know we were so competitive?....lol

Have A Great Day Steve. :)

Friendly competition is a great thing!

I have used it in quite a few cases, weight loss and athletics.

Glad to hear. :)

That's funny... I love those egg beaters... :) Try using a no calorie butter spray on it while it is cooking... It makes it taste fabulous!

Yo Steve! Whats up man... hope all is well on your side of the world. I had a quick question I was wondering if you could help me out with. I weighed in at 185.6 today from 190.4 last week.
My average rate of loss for the last 30 days is 2.44 lost per week.
I'm getting about 2300-2500 calories a day.
I'm making sure I'm getting 1.5 grams protein per pound at least 90-grams fat and the rest either more protein or carbs.

My question is when do i need to start being more careful about calorie balances? If I'm training more do i need to eat more? According to the hand held body fat monitor I'm still 19% body fat. 5'6" tall

thanks a lot man. have a great day and take care.
