Well I hope you have a great time. Please let me know if you're ever in California, specifically the Bay Area or Central Coast. It's be-u-tiful!

Thanks for all the tips and links, Steve. I'll order that DVD on mobility and discuss all this with Marlene. I also read some stuff that suggested that partial squats may actually be bad for her knees -- so I think I'll tell her to stop doing those until we figure out a better strategy.
Thanks for that nice post about our community.
Overwhelming topic but well worth it. I read through the first 25 pages (yeah, seriously) and would definitely read more at this moment if I had the time. Major props to you Steve for the things you've accomplished personally and also for the great support and information you've provided here. To keep things very concise (for now), I'll just say that I'm planning on losing weight and then switching the gaining weight (muscle, and without junk foods) when I've accomplished that. I'll probably (wait... "probably" is one of those bad words) start a journal here soon. I've lost 65 lbs several years ago and got into relatively great shape, so now I'm nearly starting over. 2 1/2 years of apathy and unemployment for most of that duration certainly have a horrible effect on things.
If I may quickly recommend something to a lot of you having trouble sticking to healthy foods, try Healthy Life Southern Country Style wheat bread. It's 100% whole grain and wow, as someone that would've NEVER viewed a piece of bread as appetizing as a snack, it's excellent. Good to eat on its own, and good for you. There are other varieties from that brand including the one with Flaxseed added but it tasted awful in comparison. People have different taste, though, so try them if you want.
Good luck to all of you!
There are quite a few who have read through this entire journal. Truthfully, I think it is a good read. Not because of me, but because of every one that contributes here. It is not so much a journal about me, like the other diaries that exist here. So props to you for reading through that much of it. There have been some great topics covered.
I highly recommend starting a journal. Let me know if there is anything I can do for you.
Best of luck, and thanks very much for your kind words.
when are you next on your travels to the uk![]()
actually dont bother. it is a wall paper country. if it were a colour it would be beige.
well some areas are absolutely beautiful eg. lakes and scotland. but the rest is grey :|
Thanks Steve for the great info etc - I havnt read your entire journal, but you provide some great info![]()
In my haste I forgot to mention that I was certainly going to finish reading through it. My conscience is just telling me "Hey, that's enough sitting and reading. Go do something!"
Regardless, what I've read up to this point has been excellent. Bolstering my confidence in what I figured to be true and in some cases causing me to no longer believe certain fallacies. It'd simply be inefficient for anyone trying to lose weight to not read through this thread, hence why it is so popular![]()
Happy Friday Steve! Have fun today, ok?
