Journey, Not A Destination

Hope all is well with the procedure and have fun! I'll report any changes after tonight that I'll be making. I'm probably going to rotate 2-3 circuits throughout the week or maybe even on each training day since there are a lot of exercises I want to incorporate.

I think todays will look something like this:

Alternating Split Squat Jumps
Jump Rope
Shuttle
Jumping Jacks
Rotational Med Ball Wall Slams
Burpees
Tire Flips
Jog
Stand Ups from lying position with sandbag
Agility work with speed ladder

Each station will last 30 seconds for as many as you can do with 15 seconds between each.

Tire Flips? Are you joining the World's Strongest Man competition? LOL That is some hard core circuit training. Let me know how you feel tomorrow.

Take it easy on the drunken elbow. Sounds like you had a little too much fun! :cheers2:

I feel great today, I'll explain more later. I'm heading to a conference pretty much all day, which sucks!

Be back later.

Conference sucked... but I got out early which isn't bad.

So I feel great after our circuit training yesterday. It was as hard as I expected it to be. There were 3 of us doing it at the school behind my house. We actually accumulated quite the crowd watching us, lol... guess it's something you don't see every day around here.

We ran through 3 different circuits all similar to what I presented yesterday.

We also started and finished with a bunch of flexibility work. We started with dynamic mobility stuff as well as some glute activation work. I don't have any pelvic tilt problems I'm aware of but I did feel that my glutes weren't working hard enough when I was on my hike at Mt. Washington. My quads were extremely fatigued and cramping then and your glutes should be the powerhouse in such things. So it felt good to fit all this mobility and prehab/rehab stuff in.

The one guy doing it did puke, which I wanted to avoid. I never like having someone puke. After the second circuit we were going to call it quits for the day.... I suggest we do one more if they were up to it and they both nodded ya.

I'm interested to see how long this lasts.

that was me :) beefcake in motion is a beautiful thing :)

puking as part of the routine wouldn't be my idea ofa good time... :) i must be a big ole pansy :D

I know some 'coaches' that think puking is a requisite to an effective practice or training bout.

Couldn't be further from the truth.

I enjoy pushing some of the athletes I work with, especially considering I predominantly work with overweight people who don't like to be pushed... but even in these cases I don't like having someone puke.

I agree.

He wasn't pulled though.

I asked and he agreed. He didn't seem overly tired so I think it was something that creeped up on him. Probably the hill sprints we added in on the last circuit.

random odd question from the mind of maleficent...

When you do puke from overexertion... least i think that's what causes the puking... does your body immediately recover or do you feel like crap for hours afterwards...

No clear cut answer to that... I've seen it go both ways. In my own experience I always feel better pretty much immediately.

Sounds like a fabulous workout! I can see why there were people gathering around...are you sore? Sounds like it was a great workout for you but somewhat easy...you should step it up! LOL just kidding... haha

Haha, I plan on stepping it up a bit as my conditioning progresses actually. I'm surprisingly not very sore. Sorest thing are my glutes and that's probably more from the activation work I did than anything else.

I'd offer a bum massage but that'd probably be wrong woulnd't it :)

If I experimented on myself -Id probably drop dead of aheart attach before I puked so - i'll go with your experiences :)

That kind of sick sucks bad. Last time I got to that point was last thanksgiving up in CT. I went mountain biking with my soon to be BIL and wasn't prepared at all aerobically for it.

Such a bad feeling until I puked.

that kind of dedication to the workout though, to my twisted brain, impresses me more than a little bit... I can live with pain, I can live with soreness, but stomach queezines.... not sure I could do anything after that...
