Journey, Not A Destination

Gordy keeps twisting my arm to go mountain biking this afternoon but the trail he wants to ride is crazy. You are supposed to have medal disk brakes and a helmet with a full face protector. Many come out with either a broken bike or a broken bone, lol.

I'm usually all for that sort of thing but I don't think I have it in me to do something that extreme today.

don't break your face please - or gordy either.. ya'll's faces are far too pretty to damage :)

go play a few holes of golf? :D full contact golf maybe? :D

I golfed yesterday afternoon. I've been golfing a lot more actually. Went and picked up a new driver last week and I'm trying to get better at the game. It's frustrating. I have a bachelor party in a month or so and we're going golfing. I want to improve my game somewhat by then.

I'm no competition for Tiger Woods -but I used to be a pretty fair golfer (my game is completely off though, now that my upper body has changed a bit) but what improved my game dramatically was 2 golf lessons.. :) *yes this coming from the person who acts like a 2 year old and wants to do everything herself* if you've never had a lesson (and you might have so ignore me then :) a good pro can take a look at your swing and a few simple corrections can make a huge difference.. they can see stuff that you can't always :D

Oh trust me, I'm all for lessons. I will be taking a couple before I go to this bachelor party. It's just really something I'm enjoying right now so I'm going to do whatever I can to get better.

how awful...

and how lucky you guys were...

really kinda scary that you can be all kinds of prepared and know what you're doing -- but when mother nature gets pissy... good luck...

My bday is Monday. :)

I'm currently reading 3 books, one having to do with body weight training, one having to do with all the sciences of the body and another about psychology.

Yea, I think I'm doing a bit of celebrating tonight after we get some work done.... we'll see.

I still gain insight on nutrition every now and again. Training-wise though, I haven't found anything new under the sun. Probably b/c there is nothing new. I still enjoy reading different perspectives of the same info written by different authors and coaches though.

Why certainly. :)

Hey Chillen, thanks a lot man... that was very nice of you. I appreciate it, man. Thanks for taking the time.

Happy Birthday Bro.

Heads up to ya... I should be up in Lancaster the weekend of the 20, 21, 22... possibly.

Think you'll be around? Dinner? Breakfast? Shady Maple?

Happy Birthday, bud...

Hope this is your best year yet with all sorts of good things coming your way...

Have a fun one ;D

Thanks Mal! And thanks for my card. :)

Each year gets better and better and I think good things are in store for this year.

Weekend update:

Friday I relaxed all evening and read my books like I planned. I through a bunch of reading of the NSCA's CSCS book in there. It's much much easier than I had expected so I'll probably finish that book up soon and schedule the exam just to have it.

Saturday I went out to Gordy's house. Little did I know but a bunch of friends I haven't seen in a long while met there to go out for my bday. I thought I was going there to do work. We had an absolute blast. Lot's of boozing and lot's of dancing. I woke up with all sorts of bumps and bruises yesterday. A bunch of shots and the worm across the dance floor tend to do that, lol.

Gordy and I also went to look at a warehouse. We weren't really planning it but it sort of popped up. It was awesome.... great office space and a huge garage type of building, which is exactly what we eventually want. Our vision is to have all sorts of unconventional stuff in our gym along with the usual stuff. The building was very affordable too. Unfortunately it was far away from my house and I would never be able to swing the travel time. It was nice seeing how possible it would be though. We had hoped to get our business up and running long before we even considered something like this so we're still on the right track.

And of course today is my bday. I'm not doing anything special... have a busy day at work... few meetings, then going to the gym. Tomorrow is Krista's bday and I believe we're going out to dinner.
