Journey, Not A Destination

Hello Steve. I hope I am not hijacking your diary but I thought this would be the best place for the post. I just wanted to say thanks for all the advise. I have been lurking around for a week or so. Reading threads, and checking the stickies. Your posts always seem very knowledgeable, informative, and given with good intentions. I have learned a lot on this board so far, and look forward to learning more.

Hey, I appreciate that a lot.... glad to hear you're learning some new things. If you ever have any specific questions, feel free to ask here or via private message.

Thanks.

Oh you have no idea how good beer and munchies sound right now.

I have this crazy craving for dorittos today. Or a bagel with cream cheese.

I haven't thought about doritos in years! Holy hell I loved those things. And I was dreaming of bagels yesterday.... with some chive and onion cream cheese, or maybe raspberry cream cheese... ok I am done talking before I get the both of us in trouble. Actually I know you have will power. I, on the other hand, live way too damn close to the grocery store.

only one more good week and it will be over man....keep on trucking

Thanks Trevor.

I'll be happy when this weekend is over. Then it's all downhill.

Plus I get to have a refeed starting next Saturday that will last 2-3 days. Refeeds consist of food you ordinarily wouldn't expect being good. Refined carbs like bagels and whatnot are excellent for this. It will be a treat.

To be honest, I didn't think I would have the willpower for this. I've obtained the physique I have eating sensibly. That did not involve a lot of restriction. So fighting off my primal urges were never an issue, for the most part. Plus, I always structure my nutritional strategy so that it has wiggle room for 'treats.' Daily treats at that.

So in a way, I'm spoiled.

But I'm proud to say I haven't touched a single morsel of food that wouldn't be fitting for this plan.

This weekend will be a challenge, especially since I'm supposed to be pretty busy, out and about.

Things are going pretty well...not still back to where I was 6 months ago, but certainly better than February, so I won't complain (well not here at least)

so how many calories are you bringing in on your refeed next weekend? i guess i should say how much carbs? SO if i get this correct, you eating very low carb right now, and your burning fat plus depleting your glycogen stores?

The refeed I think will last two days.

Day one will contain somewhere around 5 grams of carbs per pound. At least that's what's called for. I'm not sure I'll be able to swing that or not... that's 3600 calories coming just from carbs alone. I'll shoot for it though.

Day 2 will be about half that.

SO if i get this correct, you eating very low carb right now,

I'd call it no carbs, unless you count my veggies. Every meal right now has green beans, asparagus, broccoli, or spinach.

and your burning fat

Anytime you're in a caloric deficit you're burning fat. I'm in a pretty big deficit so I should be burning a good bit of fat.

plus depleting your glycogen stores?

Glycogen has left the building. I haven't eaten carbs since Sunday night.
