Journey, Not A Destination

okey dokey :) thanks steve!

Hey Steve
Wow. Looks like you've got a ton of groopies here! :)

I'm coming back from being sick this past week and I'm starting to get back into exercise this week. What's the best way to ease back into exercise after being hit with the flu?

Personally, I would not change any of the parameters of my original routine. If anything, I would cut intensity slightly if I were still feeling under the weather.

You might come back feeling stronger though, as your system supercompensates.

OK. I'll be trying the routine you suggested last week to me tomorrow. Also, I'm inputting all my food intake in Fitday and working on eating more clean (vegetables, fruits, etc) You'd be so proud. Last night I made roasted asparagus. I still have yet to get my measurements in.

thanks again!

You are welcome. :)

Make sure you get some protein in ya!

Let me know if you need anything.

:(

Just found out a really good friend of mine is moving to California for at least one year..... for work.

And he leaves in 3 weeks!

Where in Cali? He will be back, after a year he will be missing home SOOO much. And at least now you have a reason to come to CA!! You said you always wanted to visit :)

hmmm my old stomping grounds. Northern CA is beautiful. There are alot of technology-based jobs up there. You'll have fun visiting him, you can go to SF and visit the bums and stuff!! Dont be sad Steve, it will be ok!

Thanks Brit, just hard. I see the guy almost every weekend and we workout together pretty often. But, it is good for him. If I had the opportunity, I would take it myself.

I know it's hard, I have three of my best friends from childhood and HS who live in different states now. The only reason I have a myspace anymore is to keep in touch with ppl...:) you will be ok. Maybe you are meant to go through this to learn something :)

I always look at it like that... you are awesome Brit. I do believe everything happens for a reason. And even if that isn't true... I believe that only the strong survive happily, b/c they find a way to make any situation, no matter how shitty, work. It's all about redirecting your focus.

We are a VERY tight knit group of friends, so losing any one person is tough. Most of us went to grade school together. Heck, I went to pre-school with 3 of my friends that I still see on a regular basis. We also lost 3 in car accidents since high school, and I only graduated from high school in 1999.

But I will be fine. Thanks again.

that's cool that you've stayed tight since high school - hopefully that will stay with you forever - or as long as possible...

you will see your pal again... and you'll probably make new buddies in the process

More like, since kindergarten. :) And I know, I was just sharing some personal stuff in here. I will be fine. Thanks Mal.

Quote of the day

“The great danger for most of us is not that our aim is too high and we miss it, but that it is too low and we reach it.”

Set your sites high people. Think big. Focus on your accomplishments. Remember, you can only hit what you aim at.

it's nice having a friendship that lasts that long - my best friend in the entire world - was my best friend since kindergarden... my second best was there since 1st grade... both are now dead... (one on 9/11 the other march 2, 2003) so really appreciate them while you got 'em...because you never know...

Ok that was morbid..
