pickles and pizza? uh oh :D if you want it a la mode I'd get a test sooner rather than later :D

good luck an dhope it's just random cravings..

Yep. That would sabatoge the old weight loss program! Here's hoping for ya.
I sent you a private message Jolie, but want to post the rest in case anyone else is reading and interested.
The white onion and cucumber salad that I posted? I have a few changes. I made it again and paid close attention. I actually soak in salt for about an hour or hour and half--don't find half an hour long enough. Also, drain and rinse then fill the bowl with water and squeeze gently as if handwashing something. You really want to get the salt out. I didn't add paprika this time. I find the rice vinegar enough, especially since I use one that is seasoned. I also sprinkle cracked black pepper on the salad.

The other night I chopped the ends off a zuchinni and peeled it, cut it in half lengthwise and broiled. Delish! I had spread a little olive oil over the top and sprinkled with salt. Then I sprinkled with "McCormick no salt herb and garlic" seasoning. This stuff is amazing. The flavour is incredible.

Thanks for all the tips on quinoa Jolie. Really looking forward to trying it soon and the stuffed peppers sound great.

Take care!

10 lbs lost!

Hey guys, weighed in at the gym today to find that i've lost 10 lbs so far! Woohoo!

We had a great spinning class today, but I keep getting charlie horses. I read that oranges are really good for that, as they have more potassium than even bananas! I'm grab one on my way to the gym in the morning. I think they may be from my new shoes, they keep my legs flexed and working really hard. I feel like I'm really making progress.

Thanks for the continued support, and I'm looking forward to keeping on my weight loss journey. Some days are good, some days are bad, but that goes for everyone, doesn't it.

Plus, took a test like suggested, mal... not preggo! My trainer says I haven't gotten my period due to the exercise change and that the cravings are probably because of cutting out so many foods in my normal diet. I am doing as she suggested and at Sunday night dinner out, order what I really want, boxing half, and saving it for my mom. That way I still cut down on portions and am not getting extra calories by eating high cal foods twice.

Hey Jolie, those voices can be killer. There are all sorts of chemical reactions going on in your body that compel you to eat and overeat and eat the wrong foods, but you can triumph over them. Its like anything. Don't say "I'm never going to have pizza or chocolate or whatever for the rest of my life". Take it one day at a time and you will conquer this thing. You will fall off the wagon at some point. Don't give in. The trick to long term weight loss isn't staying on the straight and narrow, its what you do when you do go off. If you can hop right back into your program you win.

Dont even waste your time with weight loss hypnosis. I know two people who tried it and they made absolutely no progress. They believed in it completely, especially afterward, but it was more of a motivational seminar than anything else.

Too bad they dont sell hard work and dedication.

12 lbs lost!

So far, I'm down 12 lbs. I know it will probably slow down a good bit after my body gets used to the exercise and limited calories (1500, nice and healthy), but that's ok. I have the determination to do the hard work.

Damn. I'd pay for some of that right now....

Good work Jolie. Now what exactly is quinoa?

I do the cucumber thing too, but a little differently. Just slice the cukes, put in a bowl with vinegar to cover, a little cold water and ice cubes, touch of salt and sugar, dill if available. You guessed it, it's like fresh pickles after just a few minutes in the fridge.

Sorry I wasnt accusing you of not having it. I was just saying if they sold it, it would be good. :D

Haha... I just realized what I sounded like. Very passive-aggressive. Didn't take it that way. I'd love it if they sold it in a great tasting soft-drink...Actually, they do. Red Bull works well for me!

Patty, I love cukes like that! Yummy. I have only been able to find quinoa at Whole Foods. WalMart DOES NOT have it. It's awesome, but some say it's an acquired taste. You can buy it online, too, just do a google search. Specialfoods.com makes a pasta out of it, too. Looks pretty good to me, but haven't tried it.

Going to the gym in a bit, have a good one!

I wish we had a Wholefoods by me. The closest one is so far that I wouldn't want anything that had to be refrigerated. We do have a Pete's Market coming in, but its just not the same.

12 lbs...Jolie that's awesome. Good on you!
I'm going to try the cucs with dill. Good to have lots of variations of things.

Motivation

Ok. Maybe this is horrible of me, but it's working so I'm gonna go with it. A so called "friend" (by the "" I mean someone who tells lies about me to my friends, family, professors, etc., someone who is constantly in a competition with everything I do--she's lost 7 lbs since I started my plan, even though she's only 110 to begin with--And LOVES to rub it in my face that she's skinny and I'm not and that I must have no willpower. She actually told me, and this is a direct quote, :eek2: "God, I bet your mom really wishes she had me as a daughter instead of you. I mean, it must really suck for her to have to introduce you as her daughter." And when I asked, nicely, "Why?", this was her response: "Well, you're just so...not skinny like me." Yes, I wanted to hit her, but came back with, "Well, I bet your mom hates having a bitch for a daughter, isn't that why you and your parents don't speak AT ALL?")

Long explanation, sorry. Anyhow. She's marrying my favorite cousin!!! Drives me crazy! And he asked me to be her maid of honor. Since he asked, I couldn't say no. Yesterday I found out that she wanted me because all of our other cousins (no, she doesn't have any friends, anyone wanna guess why?) are thin and she doesn't want the guests to be looking at them more than at her.

Well, bitch, it's payback time. All the guests are from my family (no, none of her family is coming, anyone wanna guess why?) and my new motivation is to make them say wow! Jolie looks GREAT! And be telling me how awesome I look all night.

Wow, I just realized how bitchy that is, but, hey, gotta learn to take it if you're gonna dish it out that much.

BY the way. Wedding's next April...the same day I was supposed to be getting married. Lots of time. Lots and Lots of motivation.

Off to the gym. X

I was just going to tell you to cut her out of your life, but if she's marrying a cousin you really like I guess that's not an option. Its not easy to motivate yourself to lose weight based on what other people think whether that person is your lover or in this case a bitter b****. However, if that gives you a temporary boost go for it.

Okay...now she sounds like a real piece of work, that one. I agree with Cannon that I would cut her out of your life, however...In my humble opinion, I would stay focussed on why you are doing this. Keep it about 'you'. HOWEVER, if that little added target will help you as goal post, go for it sister. It's not really any different than having a picture of that favourite dress you want to wear again, or a picture of a bikinni on the fridge, they are all motivators. She has given you great motivation. Secretly thank her for it and do it! She deserves it. Picture yourself on the wedding day...but remember that you are doing it for YOU! :jump:

P.s.

Just remember that this is a life change. The last thing you would want to do is gain it all back after the wedding. Just remember to use her as a tool (heh) to help you get there. Period. Then stay there!

Thanks guys. I really do just use her as a tool (haha) to motivate me. This morning I really did not want to get out of bed and go to the gym. My son was with his grandparents, the bed was comfy, and I had the whole house to myself. And then, I remembered. I have to go bridesmaid dress shopping with her this afternoon. And then I really wanted to get back in shape to look dang good. :D. So I got up, went to the gym, and now, 2000 calories burned due to extra motivation!

Thanks for the advice.

Woo HOO! Just went to the gym for the second time today and I feel great! I normally don't hit up the gym twice in one day (don't want to overdo it) but I got really bored this afternoon and caught myself. I was looking in the pantry. Not hungry. Just bored. So, I gathered my son and off to the gym we went. Which is awesome because I burned 2000 this morning and 1400 this afternoon. My body naturally burns about2500 a day. So, since I've only eaten 700 calories today I should really be able to tell tomorrow. (700 is totally not enough, I know... I'm about to eat dinner at my grandmothers, where I MUST eat smaller portions in order to stay under 1500)

Time to kick butt in wedding/bridesmaid dresses!
