Jess - The road to happiness and health :)

I have a Christmas party coming up next Friday and I'm really nervous. I think I might just eat before I go and give my meal to hubby. There will be people there I haven't seen for a while (that I don't particularly like) so I'm stressing a bit. I wanted to lose more weight before I saw them... but 'whaddaya do'.

Hey there girly! Just wanted to say a massive WELL DONE on the recent loss. You're doing just fab and I (amongst others!) am really proud of you :) As for the dreaded Xmas parties... I also have not one, but TWO coming up. *groannnn* Instead of skipping the whole meal & feeling like the oddball.. nomping on lettuce leaves and breadsticks.. I'm just going to cut out all the bad bits. Which will be a major feat alone as they always put on SUCH an extravagant spread at my work doo's. I can almost smell the cheese from here... :( Maybe you'd feel more comfortable just not overfacing yourself and not eating everything morsel on the plate? It is a PARTTTAYYY after all, so why shouldn't you let your beautiful Rapunzel locks down? That of course is just my opinion but you should do whatever makes Lady Jess feel comfortable :)

In other news, Thank you for posting the list of things you hated about being bigger because it was really interesting to read. I've can definitely relate to some of those and have mostly noticed that I also am WAYYY less lethargic than usual. So, what is your little boy thinking or his new, sexy, slimline Mummy? :)

Keep up the god stuff Wonderwoman *huggggsss* xx

Jess, things like X mas parties and holidays hit us all. The thing is, don't beat yourself up, ad don't be all or nothing. What used to kill me was always the idea that if I screwed up on one thing, I'd trash the rest of the day, maybe even the week. So make some healthy choices, then indulge ina few things you want without beating yourself up. Then move on to the next step.

You are doing terrific so far sweetie.

I've been hitting the DVD section at our Library this week and found 2 Biggest Loser workouts. 1 Aussie one and one American with Bob and the blonde woman (can't think of her name). Bob...:drool5::drool5::drool5::drool5::drool5: sooo hot...!

What is her name? hahaha. I'm so gonna end up Googling that..lol.

Aaaanyways...just wanted to say Hi and thanks for stopping by my journal. :) You're doing great! Glad to hear your list of negatives is getting smaller, that's awesome!

Well done so far Jess! And I completely agree with the other guys - its party time of year, you just do the best that you can - little portions, damage limitation. Like Cabbie, i used to let one bad decision throw me off course for the whole day or next few days...talk about self sabatarge! *(I can't spell this morning, the words just aren't making sense so ignore that bit!).

Great to turn some of those negatives on their head as you lose weight! There's a point I think where you have come far enough that you can't imagine going back to how you were before and this pushes you on further - definitely very motivating!

Hiya jess, just catching up since I've been away. You've had another loss well done. I think that meal your stepson made sounds reasonably healthy... he probably thought he was making a good meal :) Its good that you had a small portion, we all need to learn how to eat out aye.

Have a cool week. anna

Thanks for all your replies!!!
You guys are right, I shouldn't freak out - I'll just do what I've got to do and see how it goes :)

CG - I think you're right! I might buy something nice to wear for Friday :)

Cheesy, bless ya! Lol I don't think I quite qualify as 'slimline' yet, but I did ask my son and daughter if my gut was a bit smaller and they said I was almost normal! How funny is that? For a 6 and 8 year old!!!

Hey Cabbie, that was always my thing too, I think I kept a year long trashed day up before!!! :leaving:

Thanks for reading Jen-Renee :) Hey I had to google her after you mentioned it - her name's Kym!!! But seriously who doesn't fade away into the background when Bob's on there? :drool5::drool5::smilielol5:

Thanks jjJay, Little portions might save me there. I think it's a pre-determined meal, so you just sit there and it's brought to you (wish it was a buffet type situation, I'd just pick salad or veg!). I'll have hubby next to me though, and he's like a garbage disposal :)

Hey Anna, yeah he thought it was healthy (he is a bit of a caveman/footy player - knows nothing about nutrition) and it really was tasty! Thanks for popping in :)

The weekend was so nice, I really let myself rest, and don't really feel guilty about it either... I had plans to go for a huge walk today (not working today) but it's pouring torrentially here so it's going to have to be DVD workouts and weights again. Hope everyone had a great weekend!

Oh and Day would be impressed here - I stayed in bed until 10:30am yesterday morning! That's my longest sleep in for 10 years!

I relaxed a lot this weekend too!! Now we are refreshed and ready to tackle the week ahead! Let's have a good one! I hope you do decide to buy something nice to wear!

Hey Jess!! Hugs! =) Hope you're doing well...sounds like u are missy! How are the Biggest Loser dvds going? I thought Jillian Michaels was the girl... The dinner event sounds so sweet...must be close to your family! Can understand how it would be stressful though. Glad to see you survived it and maintained your commitment! Good job! Am proud of ya! =)

Hell yeah CG, bring it on I say! I'm ready to work for it this week :)

Thanks soccerrox! Yep all's pretty much good here thanks. Lovin' the BL DVD's, yep Jillian was the main girl, but in season 3 (I think) she kind of stepped off for a while and the blonde woman turned up. Kym. She's pretty cool, but not as much character as Jillian.
Yeah I'm pretty lucky family wise. Mine all live 12 to 16 hours away, but my hubby has some here nearby. I also have 4 step sons, and they're all awesome. They're all grown up now though (my hubby's 20 years older than me) so it's like I inherited 4 friends rather than kids :) They are all great boys. One lives close to us, he's the one that cooked dinner. The others, well 2 of them live up the top of Australia and the other is backpacking overseas with his G/F.

Hey Tig, thanks so much :) I was a tiny bit miffed at just 0.6, but when you look at it like that, yeah, I'll take it!!! Thanks for pepping me up :)

Crap crappity crap crap crap!

Soooo as chirpy as I may seem, I have had a shocker of a day. I got home from work and cried. This is not weight related at all, but I just feel like venting. Hope that's OK.

I got to the first house to clean and it started pouring.
The house owner's baby kept turning the power off the vaccuum cleaner.
I then accidently smashed a picture frame that was huge (120cm by 90cm) that I had to pay to replace out of my own pocket :(
I sliced my finger open on the broken glass.
All this hoo haa made me late to get to the next house.
Got to the next joint and their dog 'Derrick' (WHO THE HELL CALLS THEIR DOG DERRICK?) tried to escape - which is a no-no. I got it back in the gate and it barked it's johnson off at me.
He then bit my leg.
After cleaning and mopping the games room I was just closing the door when Derrick rushed in and fouled up the clean floor with muddy footprints. Remember I'm already running late!
So I mop again and as I go into the main house the bastard trips me over and I hurt my wrist!
While cleaning the bathroom I dropped my GLASSES into the toilet and accidently sprayed windex in my ear trying to catch them.
While trying to remove said windex from my ear, I got it in the cut from the glass and it stang like buggery!
Got stuck in peak hour traffic on the way home and just as I was heading down our street hubby rang me and said we need bread for the kids school lunches so I had to turn back and go to the shop looking like some kind of dust clad freak animal (yes today is the dust in the buttcrack day) and a kid at the counter said to his Mum that I stank.

When I got home I had a shower and cried :(
Let's hope tomorrow is better!!!

Jess... We still luvs ya... :hug2: Hope tomorrow is a better day. That one sounded like a real shitty day, pardon the language.

Thanks Cabbie, bless ya! It was, indeed, a shitty day :ack2:
I'm feeling heaps better now I've :chillpill:ed out a bit :) and hell, tomorrow couldn't possibly be as bad as today, so it's all good!

Wow that sounded really rough Jess!! I don't think I could have held in my tears as long as you did!! Glad to hear things are better today!!

I would have just gone home after breaking the frame! Good on your for sticking it out lady, what a HORRIBLE day :( xxxx

What a lousy, rotten day you had. Just one thing after another going wrong like that....

I've had days like that - but then I end up eating a truck load of chocolate or something like that to make myself feel better. I'm proud of you for letting it out with tears and then coming on here to vent instead of doing what I would have done - EAT!

Just remember - it can only go uphill from there at least, right?

Oh no what a terrible day. Sending some :grouphug:'s your way....Pretty amazing job sticking it out. I would have bailed early! Hope tomorrow is better for you.

*hugs* What a crappy day!! :-( We all get really dodgy days hun, and I second what tig said - good on you for not EATING your bad feelings! It takes an inner strength that I know that I don't have yet. Yay you!

"WHO THE HELL CALLS THEIR DOG DERRICK?"

LMAO I was thinking the same thing and that totally made my day. Thanks, doll. There's a reason why you're a superstar around here. :)

On a more serious note, it really annoys me when such nice people like yourself have such horrendous days. And yes, I'm thoroughly impressed by you sleeping in until 10:30 ^_^

Ha ha thanks Day! Anytime!!! I knew you'd be impresed with the sleep in!

Tigs and aussiegal - funnily enough I didn't even think of eating - could this mean I've turned a corner? Hmmmm... :)

Thanks Island and Sunflower, I totally wanted to just drive home but I just didn't have the choice, I would have let my mate down.

CG I know I nearly lost it, but managed to take some deep breaths and not embarrass myself any further lol.

I'm so sorry for whinging, I feel really bad for putting it in here. You all rock though, thanks for all just being there. :grouphug:

Today was so much better!
I did 6 hours of cleaning so that was my exercise today, and tonight we put our Christmas tree up. The kids loved it, and it was such a nice way to end the day :)

Food:
Brekky - Medium banana and 8 natural walnuts.
Snack - Pink Lady apple
Lunch - Stirfry - brown rice, beef and veg with a sesame soy and ginger marinade.
Dinner - Tomato and baby spinach soup with a slice of wholegrain bread with low fat cottage cheese on it.

BIG day tomorrow for cleaning :( but on the upside, when we picked the kids up from school 3 (not 1, but 3!) of the mums commented on how much weight I'd lost. STOKED!!!
