Day 8 of no pop.

Had a good day today. Did the treadmill and stuck to my calories.

213.6 this morning. :) Nice to finally see a good drop on the scale.

I decided to join the October Challenge thread. That should be good.

It's a rainy dreary day today. I have to get some work done, do dishes and laundry. Tomorrow will be a challenge. I have to make cupcakes for my daughter's birthday sleepover on Saturday. Sigh...I love cupcakes.
 
Nice drop and glad to see you sticking to the no pop. If you succumb to a cupcake just make it fit into your calories. You'll be hungry, but no real damage done. 1 cupcake won't derail you, but then again skipping 1 cupcake isn't bad either. All the food holidays are ahead of us. I'm going to have my weightloss and eat my dressing too. It's easier for me on Halloween as we have no kids or trick or treaters so no candy. My mother's Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners are a different matter.
 
Congrats on the drop Jen. Will be interested to hear if you succumb to the temptation of the freshly baked cupcakes. I would be too scared to "have just one!" Cheers, Cate
 
Hey Jen, have been catching up on your diary, and I kept misreading pop as poop!!! lol

Anyway, I think you are doing an astounding job tho...You used to be 290 lbs??!! and now you are 213.6?? * draw dropped in shock* I have ditched fizzy drinks the last month too, its so weird coz you will come to realise that there really unnecessary and just a stupid habit that can be easily reversed.

I defo think you will be in the ONEderland by January! I think I might go for the same goal too!! I haven't been in Onederland since I was about 13

Keep up the good work girl!!:)
 
Gaaaaaaaaah. I had to refresh the page about 40 times before the box to type in would show up. That's really annoying.


Anyway... Thanks, Cate, Quercus, and Princess! :) Back to 214.6 this morning. Calories were good yesterday though(around 1350), so pretty sure it's just water retention. I did have some salty stuff yesterday. I need to start cutting down on that.

Day 10 of no pop. Today is a treadmill day and I also have to make the cupcakes. I won't be frosting them tonight though. I'll do that tomorrow morning. As long as I don't smell the frosting tonight, I'll be ok. lol!

I've been drinking ginger ale again and I haven't had a regular one since I started counting calories, but I had just bought 2 2 liters of diet. The intention was to drink them both and not buy anymore, but to show my solidarity for you two I will pour the rest out this evening.

I hope you have a good treadmill session. Just remind yourself that they make cupcakes fluffy by slowly grinding up kittens. You don't even want to know about icing.

Do you weigh yourself every day? Do you find it more motivating when you realise you have a gained a little, or does it really dishearten you? I'm a firm once a week girl! I don't think I could handle seeing the weight fluctuations day in, day out, but I'd be interested to know if it helps you?

Keep up the good work :D Resist the frosting!!

Seeing the fluctuations on the scale doesn't really bother me. I know it happens and it's normal, so I don't think too much about it. I do however like that if I see a lower number I can be like... "yaaaay!". If I see a higher number than it usually leaves me determined to have a better day than the day before. I know some people can't stand seeing the fluctuations, and I totally get that, but for me weighing every day keeps me in check. :) Plus I'm just impatient and can't stand waiting a whole week..haha!

212.6 this morning. Awesome.

I made pretty pink and purple swirled cupcakes last night. I'm sure the birthday girl will love them. She better anyway..haha! I'll be frosting them later. They smell delicious already, so I'm trying to hold off on the frosting as long as I can. I figured out they will be a little less than 200 calories a piece. It's going to be hard having just one, but I think I can do it. I have to figure in calories for pizza tonight too though.

Unfortunately clicking on "go advanced" doesn't work for me. It just does the same thing, plus I have to click on a pop up window that comes up when I try to refresh that page. Apparently the forum just doesn't want me to post. lol! It just seems very random to me. Sometimes I go to post and it's fine, other times I have to refresh a million times. I'm stubborn though...so if it takes 40 refreshes...so be it. :)

I see your point about every day weigh in. I really want to get to a point where I can see a gain as a motivator and get some determination. I'm just not out of the headspace yet. But I do like when you see a loss. I've weighed myself a few times this week and it's not been tooooo bad, so maybe I'm coming around to it :)

Well, if you never come around to it, that's a not a bad thing either. There's nothing wrong with only weighing once a week. It's a personal preference. I'd go with whatever works for you! ...Oh, and my cupcake was delicious! :D

The preteen girls are gone. Thank goodness. I don't remember being that annoying...lol. I'll sum up the night with a series of smilies...

Treadmill is done. I'm still doing 30 minutes, but I did go a little faster tonight. Making progress on that.

First of all, the combination of emoticons are pretty much spot on for how that night went.

Secondly, you're doing good, honey. We're just about half way home and you're doing good. :D
 
Glad to see you improving on the treadmill!

If you are going to have a sweet treat a homemade cupcake is the way to go.

I think if you stay in calories then the carb heavy dinner will just make the scale show high for one day with a bigger drop the next day.
