Thanks, Cory, Sunflower, and MrVee!

Calories for yesterday were 1330. I'm on track so far for today. I might do the treadmill later, if not I'll at least do some stretches. Doctor appointment tomorrow, and if I get the ok from her... I might start going to the gym with my best friend next week. She called me today and roped me into it. haha! We'll see though. I'll definitely be starting off slow with that if that happens.

Well I went to the doctor yesterday and was in there talking with her for about an hour and a half! I had a long list of problems..haha!

She was concerned about several things, and wants to run labs on me... a huge list of them. She really wants me to try a gluten free diet. :( I was looking up gluten intolerance last night, and it pretty much sounds exactly like me...like scarily like me! I'm not too thrilled about it. haha! She also wants me to try to see a massage therapist.... that part I'm ok with. :D

I think this weekend I'm going to do a lot of research on the gluten free diet, and maybe give it a try starting on Monday. I figure I'll try it for a couple weeks, and see if there's any difference. I would hate to not try it, and possibly miss out on feeling better.

I've kind of been slacking this week on exercise, but I'm determined to get some in tonight and tomorrow. I have to get my 3 sessions in for the fourth week of the challenge! I will do it! :)

My weight was still 206 as of yesterday, but I'm not really surprised as my TOM is approaching. :ack2:

I felt better already on my first gluten free day, but ofcourse it takes a while to heal the digestive system completely.
Remember to check everything, gluten may hide in mayo, ketchup, mustard, vitamins, spice mixes, candy, lip balm and so on.

Thanks, Clarissa! I've seen a LOT of people online say that they felt better after the first or second day. I'm hopeful that I will too, but I'll definitely stick it out for a couple weeks just to be sure. There are soooooo many things with gluten... I'm going to be checking labels and looking stuff up constantly...haha! Thanks for your comment! :)

I forgot to weigh myself this morning. I'm pretty sure I would not of liked what was on the scale anyway though, so I'm not too heartbroken about it... lol! I have to admit my eating the last two days has not been the best. Nothing too horrible, but definitely more than I should have been eating. I've been really hungry the last couple days and pms'ing. I've still been drinking my water though, and I did get my exercise in yesterday and today. So those are two good things at least.

Today and tomorrow I'm going to start looking at the gluten stuff, and come up with a grocery list for next week. All the info is a bit overwhelming, but I'll figure it out!

I need to catch up on diaries soon! Will try to do that tomorrow. :)

Luckily gluten free products have become more prevalent. Plus you can have a chef to make some dishes for you. I tried it for a bit, but it didn't make much difference for me. I did find that making whole food dishes at home was the easiest way to eat gluten free. I didn't care for the gluten free bread. The cool side effect of a gluten free diet is that you can't go out for pizza or burgers. Cool for your efforts at least.

I'm taking a break from the scale, but I will weigh when you get close to 200 or when you reach it to honor our contest. <300 will be a big milestone, but i really need to disconnect from the scale as motivator and yardstick and just keep my good habits going.

I hope the gluten free thing works for you! Like Quercus said, gluten free can knock off a lot of 'bad' foods. I also hope that the doctor doesn't find anything too serious.

Thanks, guys! :)

Today is day 1 with no gluten. I hate it already. haha! I think this will be the one and only diet that I will be genuinely pissed off it makes me feel better. Like seriously, body.... why? why gluten?!? whyyyyyy?!? Is it bad that I'm hoping for a negative result? haha!

Soooo anyway... My best friend and I are heading up to the gym around noon. I haven't been to a gym in ...hmmmm.. about 10 years? This should be interesting. I have the feeling Chef's going to have to drag me up the stairs when I get home. That'll be his workout for the day. :D

Gym update:

I survived.... haha!

...AND I managed to drag my own ass up the stairs when I got home. Yay for me! I'm not feeling too bad right now, but I think tomorrow will be another story. lol!

How did you like the gym? When I first started going, I was really uncomfortable with being there, but that feeling has since gone away.

My nerves kicked in a little bit before going, but after I got there I was fine. I also live in a VERY small town, so there was only like five or six people there, including us...lol. And, my friend gave me a little refresher course on all the machines and stuff, so I was fine after that. :)

----------------

I don't feel too bad this morning. I'm sore, but nothing too horrible. Usually the second day is worse, so we'll see how I feel tomorrow. We're going to the gym again. I bought a month membership to start with. If I keep it up, I'll extend it when the month is over.

Calories were a little higher than I would of liked yesterday(around 1500) from a couple hard boiled eggs I had for a snack last night. Calories are good so far today.

Good on you with the gym membership.
How is body, starting to feel happier on the new diet?

Thanks, Clarissa! I did actually feel a little better this morning. My stomach felt pretty good. I was sore from the workout yesterday, but overall I felt pretty good. I'm going to keep going with the gluten free stuff, and see how I feel in a week. If I definitely notice a difference, I'll go for two. :)

Calories yesterday were 1304. With the snack I have planned I should end at around 1250 calories today.

I went to the gym again today. I'll be going back on friday with my best friend, and then Chef and I might go on Saturday. He wants to check it out. I told him if we started going to the gym together all the time, we could get these....

205.8 this morning. So I've come down just a little bit in the last few days. Hoping to see 204 by the weekend. I really need to hit 199 soon. I want new shoes!! :)

I'm very pleased to see you getting close! I really want to give up the scale for a while. With your permission I would like to cede victory to you. Otherwise I am willing to weigh when you hit onderland just to see where I am. Just let me know. I will admit that not being on the scale doesn't change that you are beating me handily. :(

I will take my victory now...muhuwahahaha! :reddevil:

I totally get wanting to give up the scales for a bit though. It's not a problem. I just want to get down to 199 because I promised myself new shoes when I hit that number. :D I think after that, I'll start focusing more on inches lost and what I can accomplish physically at the gym. :)

Congratulations Jen! Like Omega's contest, I wouldn't have started this with you had I any inclination that I would need to boot the scale. I absolutely have to get below 300 pounds, but I don't have to know it. As long as I'm eating well, exercising, and shrinking, I don't mind not knowing the number. I'm really hoping it will help me stay focused on the lifestyle being the goal.

...I didn't like the color?

203.2 this morning. I suspect that will go up a tad before tomorrow's official weigh-in, but I have my fingers crossed that it won't.

Today is gym day. I'm feeling a little sore from Wednesday, but a good sore. My hips and back are starting to feel quite a bit better. They are a lot less stiff in the morning, which is great. I don't feel like I'm 80 years old getting out of bed anymore.

I'm still doing the gluten free diet. Today is day 5, and it's not quite as bad as I thought it would be. The only thing that's really bugging me is bread. I need to find a good gluten free sandwich bread or recipe.

Tomorrow Chef and I are going shopping for my birthday boy who is turning 7 years old next week, and then a little grocery shopping, and then we're going to the gym. It should be a good day. :)

Official weigh-in : 204.2.

So I did go up a little bit from yesterday just like I expected. That's about 2 lbs this week. I'm really happy with that though, because it's also my TOM. I honestly would of been happy just to stay the same, so any loss is great! :)
