Jenn's Diary

15 pounds gone

You're doing awesome. Some days are just like that. Hope you get your food in order.

Its hard all the mental stuff we go through everyday while we lose. Gotta keep confidence in the good choices. Way to go.

Feeling focused today. About time - Thursday already. Haven't lost anything this week, but it's my own fault. Didn't make great decisions or have a lot of self-control.

Still haven't worked out a lot either. Too bloody cold out, -25 with the wind chill. Not nice. Looking forward to spring....... hell I'm looking forward to March. It's bound to be "milder" than.

Today has been good. Hoping to see 169 tomorrow. Making good choices, within my points range today. Drinking lots of water and green tea. Hoping for some toning tonight.

Breakfast: plain whole wheat toast, black coffee - 1.5pts;
Lunch - leftover spaghetini and sauce from last night - 7pts;
Supper - vension sausage, noodles, peas - 12pts.
Leaves lots of room for a snack tonight (4.5pts), if I need it. Trying to refrain from eating after dinner again.

Take care. Stay warm. See you all tomorrow. Yeah Friday!

What is green tea suposed to do? I have heard it talked about a lot but don't know what it does!:confused:

I've heard it is supposed to be good for your overall health, but do not add milk/sugar/etc as it takes away from it's benefits. It is full of antioxidents. Here is some other info I just found on the Salada Tea website.
Green Tea
Continuing research on the beneficial properties of green tea to human health has produced several new findings. Most notable is a study by Japanese scientists of the Saitama Cancer Research Institute relating the delay of cancer onset with the consumption of green tea. The study shows that early stage breast cancer spreads less rapidly in women with a history of drinking five or more cups of green tea a day. As a result, there is a lower recurrence rate and a longer disease-free period.

With the evidence that green tea and EGCG, a catechin found only in green tea, are a natural and readily available inhibitor of TNF-, a gene expression which promotes the growth in cancer cells and in their surrounding tissue, it is possible for researchers to extend this idea to other various human diseases. Since EGCG has also been proven to kill cultured cancer cells without causing harm to surrounding healthy cells, green tea could be beneficial not only for cancer prevention but also in the therapy and prevention of other diseases.

Finally figured out how to resize my pics, in order to add an Avatar. The pic is from Winter of 2006. Will need to get my hands on another digital camera and update.

Me and my boy.

Hey there! There's something up with my Forum account and it's not showing when there are new posts in some people's diaries... yours included! It was showing no new posts since Feb 12, but I decided to check just in case. And there were tons of new posts. Haha. Sounds like you're still doing well. I like the look of your new goals. I think 135 by Sept sounds very reasonable. Just keep going and you will get there. :D V-Day chocolates are a pain. I SOMEHOW managed to avoid them this year. I have no idea how I was that lucky.
Anyway, congrats on the 15 lb loss hun!

Thanks for the support Dee!

Hope everyone is having a happy Friday. It will be happy once the work day is over. No major plans this weekend. was supposed to take my son skating Saturday and to a skating carnival on Sunday, but I think we'll just hang in at home and take to shake off this cold. Saturday night we have to go to my niece's 3rd birthday, so that should be enough excitment for one weekend.

Anyhow, I think I'm down .5 this week. I say "I think" because on our scale I'm not quite 170 but I'm not 168, so I'm going with 169.5. I don't deserve it this week, but I will take it.

Was good yesterday. Drank lots of water and green tea. Didn't get any exercise in though. Feeling kind of gross today, I thinking it was my poor choice of clothing today. If I don't think I look particularly good in something one day, I feel gross the whole day. Once I get home tonight and get into my lounge wear, I'll be good.

Menu looks like this today:
Breakfast: fibre first cereal (.5c), wheat bran (.25c), 2% milk (.5c), black coffee - 3.5pts;
Lunch: tuna - 2pts;
Supper: moose chili - 7pts.

Thia leaves me with lots of room to top my chili with cheese or have bun/bread to dip in chili. We have no dessert in the house, so that is a bonus. I do have to go shopping this weekend, but I'll buy something that my husband will like and that I won't - so that I'm not tempted. It usually works. Hoping for a loss this weekend. I will behave at the birthday party. I think we're having tacos or fagitas (build your own). My niece is a fan of Dora the Explorer - so that's the theme. I will allow myself some birthday cake, but promise not to over indulge.

I have a new goal to strive for. I wouldn't necessarily call it a goal, but something to look forward to. In May, there is always a huge party where I grew up. I hoping to attend this year. Show off the new me. The only thing I'm afraid of is that I will undoubtibly have a few drinks. Still haven't drank since New Years, and don't have any intension to anytime soon. I'm sure I'll have a huge hangover. Few drinks, not as much body fat to soak in the alcohol, could be scary..........but it will be fun!

Anyhow I rambling. Take care everyone, and have a great weekend!:D

I think I'm giong to re-set my goals:
01/03/07 - 165;
01/04/07 - 158;
01/05/07 - 146;
01/06/07 - 139;
01/09/07 - 135 (September I will turn 31)

This way I will be able to sensibly get down to 135 by Sept, and not feel pressure. If I still hit my original goal of 135 by 07/06/07, good for me. But it seems like it is coming up so quickly now, and the pressure to lose 10lbs a month seems like a lot. I'm sure it will be easier once the nice weather comes back, I can get outside to walk and hopefully start a running program.

Ok, I'm such a dummy. I finally get your day/month/year scheme.. HAHA I was looking at it as month/day year.. and thinking ummm.. I don't get it. LOL. I'm definitely having the stereotypical "blonde" moment! hehehehe :D

LOL I have to laugh! Sorry!!;) But did you know you lost all of your weight in Jan 2007?:eek: Dang you are quick!! What is the secret!!! (You messed up your numbers just a little) I have to laugh because I do this all the time and get made fun of. It's so nice I am not the only one! Youa have a great day and I think your goals are great!!:)

I'm assuming you are referring to my goal dates (DD/MM/YY). This is how we log everything at work, so I'm just use to doing it this way. I wish it was a universal thing. It's can be confusing sometimes. LOL.

Take care.

Hiya Jenn!! It looks like you're doing well. Your goals seem very sensible - that's a good thing. Keep up the great work girl!! :D:D

The weekend wasn't bad. I having the typically Monday bloat though. The birthday party went well on the food side of things. I didn't pig out, didn't drink. I had lost the extra .5lb of my 169.5 Saturday morning, and managed to stay at 169lb Sunday morning. However, my son and I went for a walk to the in-laws Sunday morning and they ended up making us toasted westerns - YUMMY! I only had 1, so that was good and it was my lunch. I had a small breakfast, so I figured I was okay. Supper however was a much different story. I was good all day, partially because I was in so much pain I could get off my ass (more on that story later). I made a moose lasanga for dinner with whole wheat noodles, so i figured it was very light - expcet the cheese factor. It was sooooooo good, I had 3 pieces **blush**. The pieces were small, but I had 3! Then to make matters worse I had some ice cream for dessert! I just shake my head.

So even though I ate a ton yesterday for supper, I will blame my 2lb gain on my typical monday bloat. I swear, every Monday I'm up 2-3lbs then it gone by Wednesday at the latest. I also didn't get my water in this weekend.

As for my pain. I was getting my son dressed for the walk home yesterday and had this horrible pain in my back. By the time we got home, I was in so much pain I thought I was going to be sick. I popped some extra strength tylenol and crawled into bed, fell asleep for 1/2hr, and woke into more pain then I crawled in with. So I broke down and took some of my husband's meds for his back (which I HATE to do). I had a Celebrex, helped a bit. but then I had to take a "TEC 3" for bed. Had some weird dreams and I think at one point I was hullicinating. Wild. Stil sore today, but at least I can move.

Anyhow, enough whining. Need to get focused on the week ahead.

Breakfast: fibre first cereal (.5c), wheat bran (.25c), 2% milk (.5c), black coffee - 3.5pts;
Lunch: soup - 2pts;
Supper Chicken and Broccoli Alfredo - 9pts.

Lots of room left! Oh and by the way, the black coffee isn't quite doing it for me anymore. I think I just may stick with green tea, instead. More benefical anyway.

Went a little bit overboard last night. Had supper, and then proceeded to have ice cream (which I had points room for). However, around 7pm I had a peanut butter and banana muffin that I had made on Sunday. That would have put me over. I never did work out the points on it - should.

Anyhow, was down to 170 today regardless. Today is also Pancake Tuesday, so that what we're having for supper. I worked it out and I should be okay. I just need to figure out the points on the breakfast sausage.

Much milder here today. Yesterday morning it was -25, this morning +3. Wow. I was going to walk at lunch, but it is so messy and wet I didn't bother. My back is feeling much better today, so I think I will try to get some sit ups in tonight.

Nothing else new on the home front, so the food today goes a little something like this..........
Breakfast: fibre first cereal (.5c), wheat bran (.25c), 2% milk (.5c), green tea - 3.5pts;
Lunch - broccoli soup - 2pts;
Supper - pancakes with maple syrup (7pts) and sausage (will depend on point amount).

Trying to stay away from the hot chocolate at work, as it seems to lend to my demise by the end of the day. Still not drinking as much water as I would like. Not quite into it right now. Working on 42oz right now.

Take care!

Off with my son today. Hanging out at the in-laws, cause hubby's sleeping (working nights). Looks like it might be strep. Glands the size of golf balls. Really quite alarming when they jut out past his jaw line. Anyways, he's on heavy duty meds, hope it clears up quickly.

Back down to 169.5 today, but I'm bored and struggling not to binge. I had a muffin for breakfast and 2poached eggs on toast for lunch. Not too bad, don't know the total points. However, I have also had 2 coffees w cream and sugar - not good! Not expecting a loss this week. Haven't had any water. Just a rockin' headache right now.

Will talk to you all later. Take care.

YOu are doing great. My weight has been fluctuating these 2 silly lbs for 3 weeks. It's driving me bonkers, so I know how it can be!

Drink that water!! that might be why you have a headache.

Thanks!

I going to get some water. I'm thinking it may also be a combination of the sick boy. He just gets so restless and can get out of control for me, but when Dr saw us this morning he was as good as gold. Unfortunately when we went to the pharmacy to get the meds, the computer was down and there was a line up. So that took longer than the ER visit! I did get some good exercise walking up and down the stairs at the medical centre, waiting for the prescription. Was hoping to tired him out, but he has yet to nap today. Might go for a walk outside soon. It's absolutely beautiful here today (+3), and the sun is shining. Spring is coming!

Thanks for stopping by.
