FYI - babies love watching chubby mamas wiggle around to funny music. :D

LOL

yes you are right he was laughing yesterday when I was doing my strength training. Everytime I turned around to look at him he was looking right at me and laughing.

LOL

Things I'm happy about.

I feel good about this week so far.
I joined Redneckwomans lateste thread. I'm assured to give and receive lots of support there.

I'm enjoying this weekend. It's extrememly hot but I did 30 minitues of areobics first thing this am anyway.

Boy I was sweating like a cold can of pop on a hot hot day. I mean a cold bottle of water.

Plan for hot days:

Exercise in the morning before it gets to hot. Drink lots and lots of water. I decided not to go for walks when it's this hot.

Doing something against my grain

Oh yes I am actually pretty proud of this one. After much deleberation I am going to go in public in a bathing suit. I'm not afraid to step out of the lockers, I'm not afraid that somebody will see.

I have wanted to enrole my son into swimming lessons and I finally did. We start on the 31st. And yes it's at the biggest public swimming pool in the City. Boy when I decided to do something I really do it.

How did I get to this decision? Well of course the baby is to small to go swimming by himself so my husband said he would take the little guy if I didn't want to. I was happy that he offered but at the same time I felt this little twang of guilt. This seemed to be the beginning of missing out on things in my life as so may of you said earlier. Life is to short.

So because I didn't want to miss out on life I changed my mind. Plus I know there will be other chubbies there too. So I just ordered a new bathing suit on Ebay and I am going to take the plunge. Ha ha ha no pun intended!

YAY for you... (and if you want a little coverage - just get yourself a pareo (one of those long scarves that you can tie around your waist - and it covers the areas we like to hide.. :) plus it's stylish... :D

Use Sunscreen :) and have a great time

LOL do those pareo scarves come in extra large cloak style? Cuz there are a few other parts I might need to conceal.

The sun and me do not mix. I take off my pants and people could go snow blind. I don't need suncreen because the sun just bounces right off of me. It must because no matter how hard I try I just can't get a tan.

Now now.. don't be like that :) No reason to bring out the swimming burqua (I've tried, you really just kinda sink to thebottom of the pool :)
Drowning can really put a damper on your day... :)

Jenn, I am so glad to hear you're going to the pool!

I went to a water park not too long ago, I don't know if I posted my impressions or not - but, it was one of their busiest days - over 5000 half naked people walking around. I had a cabana in front of a very popular attraction, so I sat and could watch probably all 5000 people walk by at some time during the day....

I saw roughly....*2* people the entire day who I thought "wow, that is one perfect body." The rest, were all over the place. Even the skinny ones had body parts that were less then "perfect". I couldn't begin to tell you how many 350+ people I saw in two pieces.

And GOOD for them - first, they were out there MOVING, walking, going up stairs for rides, surviving the said rides, walking some more and they didn't give a rats a** about what anyone else thought. They were living for the moment, and almost everyone I saw was there because of a kid. You can't beat that.

I came home feeling so good about the body in general, about my weight loss in particular, but mostly, really good about where I am now and that I know I'm living with awareness and motivation.

IT was great seeing all different shapes and sizes, playing!

Jenn, I am so glad you're going to be with your son. That you're not going to miss out on this because of what 'other people with think'.

You AND your little guy are worth so much more then a stranger's opinion!

Make a Splash!!
(ohhh, and what does your new suit look like?) :)

Hee hee you sound just like me, the sun bounces off me, funny though as I tan on my upper body and arms but never on my legs....lol

Good for you conquering the dreaded bathing suit fear!! We all have it. I think M2M put it in really good perspective with her above post. Wise words from a wise girl!!!

And most definitely post piccies of the bathroom. Can't wait to see where you will be soaking in a bubble bath like the diva that you are!!!

YAY for conquering your pool demons. :)
now you and your son can swim together. That's just awesome.
and please tell us about ur new swimming suit. I've been wanting to buy a new one too. The old one is a lil too loose on me now but I'm poor and waiting for clearance sales. ;)

Good for you, Jenn! I'm so glad that you've decided to enjoy this with your son. You've given me inspiration. I think maybe I'll just have to check what time our local pool has adult swim times. I think they're in the evenings, so I may be able to make some of them after work. You go, girl! Have fun!

Hi Jen.

Yay for you!! I know that must have been really hard, but I bet you felt really good that you did it. Have a great week. You are doing great!

LMAO! Ok So I will admit I had to google burqua. OMG I'm laughing so hard I thought it was like a robe. But yes it certainly would be difficult to wear that swimming. awwwwwww (wiping tears from my eyes). You certainly are a card!

M2M: You know everytime I see a fluffy lady in a two piece I automatically think she feels good in what she is wearing....why can't I. You always have of putting things into perspective. As for the suit. I was bidding on ebay and thought I had the auction in the bag. Well I guess I jumped the gun because I didn't win it. :( So I'm bidding on another. I have a tankini that I wore pre pregnacny that I am going to have to squeeze into luckly the bottoms were to big on me then (long story). But I will describe the one I finally win. When I win it.

Scarlett: I must say you have inspired me to decorate my bathroom spa style. I have picked some really nice things so far.

Initial C: Yes clearance sales my favourite. Love the idea of getting something for nothing. I just was at Old Navy and I got a bunch of stuff for my little baby. Our Old Navy doesn't have a plus size section...so nothing for me this summer.:(

Momtotwo: So true. My legs just don't tan like they use to. But my arms, face and neck do no problem.

dgillygal and pineola: Thanks for the cudos

Ladies always a pleaseure to have you pop by my journal!

Today's Reflection:

Well today was really good. Hey I remember how good I feel after exercising in the morning. I was so energetic all day after doing my 30minues of aerobics. I drank all of my water! I'm back to counting my WW points becasue I think I was eating a little to many calories. So I'm hoping for a bigger loss next week so I can finally change my tickety ticker!

New Challenge New Habit

They say that it takes 30 days to form a new habit and so I am going to form a new habit. I have the worst habit for nibbling at night. I'm a night nibbler like a little racoon. I'm in the cupboards and fridge constantly. Starting tonight I am not going to eat past 7pm no matter what. I'm going to add a new ticker to count down my 30 days and see if I have formed a new habit.

What I did good on Sunday!

We packed up and went out to camp. We usually eat really badly when we are out there. My mom makes cheese and salsa dip with super salty tortillia chips. It is really yummy but I didn't eat a single one. I also brought out a pineapple and cut it up for dessert. It was soooo delicious and I didn't feel guilty eating it. :D

Well I've rambled on enough.

Man, I gotta say you got balls bigger then most guys...

... And that is a very good thing!

I would never be caught dead in a bathingsuit- Even when I was thin! I don't think I have been in public with a bathingsuit since I was 13.. About 4 and a half years ago!

I really hope you enjoy swimming... I love swimming, but my fear of the flubber has been holding me back... I'm sure you'll look great!

-N-

PS: Ebay IS the PLACE to BE man!! I get almost everything I own from there!! Plus it's a great place to get Japan/80's memorabillia!! Rock. You should check out Weird Al's song "Ebay" it's madd funny.

Remember... Bid in the last 3 seconds and you will never fail!

Awwh. I just discovered Old Navy's plus sized section myself. It's not here in Canada. And I hear they're closing down alot of them in the states. :( Maybe Avenue or Lane Bryant? They have some really cute stuff on clearance cause summer's ending. I picked up shirts while I in Buffalo for the weeknd for only $10. Marked down from $39.99.

good luck with the no nibbling after 7 thing. I used to be a constant nibbler at night too. But yknow... It DOES get easier. After the first week, you won't even think of nibbling I bet!

~~~~~ peeeeek ~~~~~~~ Nope no balls. Just gumption!
It took a lot to get me to this point but comments like that might make me go running back into the dressing room. LOL I don't think they make ladies bathings suits to hide all those bits and bobs. ICK could you imagine? YUCK.
Initial C: I pretty much shop in the plus size sections at Walmart and Zellers. And Target and the BigK when I go to the US. For now that is fine but I keep telling myself that if I step into a plus size store then that means I'm plus size. LOL who the Heck am I fooling?
Gosh, I miss a couple of days on the diaries and you go and make a life-changing decision!?!?! That's really cool. I am very proud of you! :D
Reflection
What a lovely day I had yesterday. We spent the day at the teddy bear picnic in the park. Me and two of my other friends loaded up the 7 kids between the 3 of us and walked to the park. We had a wonderful picninc and then walked around to all of the booths. We watched the wacky kid singers onstage for a while but there was no shade so that got pretty old pretty quickly. Anyway I did my 30 minutes of aerobics in the morning before I left and pretty much walked for most of the afternoon. So my exercise was pretty good yesterday. I drank at least double my quota for the day.
Oh I also figured out all of my points for the day the night before becasue I packed a lunch and had the entire day planned out. Wouldn't it be nice to have a personal chef who could put you on a plan make everything for you pack your lunch and stuff. If everything was prepared ither would be no excuse to eat poorly. Awwwww if I were rich.
What I am happy about yesterday?
Another day without snacking at night. I'm in the process of divorcing the inner raccoon.
What I would have done diffferently?
Well for some reason it is such a chore to do my strength training and I didn't do it again yesterday. Mind you I did a lot of other exercise but it's been three days since I did it.
Today we are going out to camp and I plan to do some swimming and hanging out in the lake. I'm really trying to enjoy my summer before it's gone.
twinmom: Well it's just time for me to stop being silly and take control of my life. Throw caution to the wind and put it all out there so to speak. Pun intended.
Good luck with the nibbliing, i know how it feels, i can stay on track eating well all day, then completely lose control snacking in the evening... i am currently in the process of giving that up so we are in the same boat lol! Hope you are having a good day and keep up the great work!
