Jennifuffa's Journal

mmmm, your spa bathroom sounds heavenly...I can't wait until it's done and we get to see pictures.

So glad to hear the joy on your voice because of the lovely day you had yesterday. Another happy head on the pillow at night kind of day. Good for you.

And I've been meaning to tell you I crack up everytime I see your avatar. That little fella with his little forlorn face just makes me smile.

Have a great day!

WOW! I really admire you! You are not only doing well losing the weight but your confidence is amazing. And I think that's as important as the physical changes. Big hugs and a loud cheer!!

Good luck with the nibbliing, i know how it feels, i can stay on track eating well all day, then completely lose control snacking in the evening... i am currently in the process of giving that up so we are in the same boat lol! Hope you are having a good day and keep up the great work!

Oh that is so dissappointing. To work so hard making good choices only to lose it at night. It is so frustrating. So I had to cut it out all togehter. It's been killing me but it has been getting somewhat easier. It's nice to know I'm not the only one struggling with the inner raccoon.

Mal: Yes it was nice and I am! Thanks for peeking in! PS. Can you mail me some pulled pork. That sounds so delicious.

Scarlett: I have been having those happy head on pillow kinda days lately! I am feeling a lot less frustrated lately I guess due to exercising daily. I get all those endorphins charged up and I want to make better choices throughtout the day.

Oh yes my avatar the sourpuss. Thanks. Yes when I saw the picture I laughed so hard. He makes me feel sorry for him but I want to laugh too and say "ohhhhh poor kitty". LOL

Sillygirl: It is so nice to hear you say that because not but about a week or so ago I was pretty down on myself. I guess everyone has thier ups and downs. After almost 3 months of comming here I think I finally got my act together.

Thanks ladies for gracing me with your much needed presences (not sure if thats actually a word or not)

You go, girl! Sounds like you are really on your way. Good luck with the new habit! Hmmmmm ... maybe I should try something like that too. I'm not a night nibbler, but there sure are plenty of other bad habits that I need to break. I think I just need to slow down alittle now so that I can concentrate on eating healthy and counting points again. All of that seems to take a back seat when I'm swamped at work and elsewhere. Anyway, keep up the terrific work, and you'll be so far ahead of me that I'll never catch you! :D

Initial C: I pretty much shop in the plus size sections at Walmart and Zellers. And Target and the BigK when I go to the US. For now that is fine but I keep telling myself that if I step into a plus size store then that means I'm plus size. LOL who the Heck am I fooling?

Sometimes I like the stuff at Walmart & Zellers. Other times... Not so much. It depends on where I go. So I shop alot Penningtons & Addition-elle. They have some really cute items. But I only go when they have clearance sales or it gets too pricey for lil unemployed me. :D

Wouldn't it be nice to have a personal chef who could put you on a plan make everything for you pack your lunch and stuff. If everything was prepared ither would be no excuse to eat poorly. Awwwww if I were rich.
that's what Kristy Alley had... Pre-made Jenny Craig meals. Ah... To be rich. (Or at least sponsored!)

Another day without snacking at night. I'm in the process of divorcing the inner raccoon.
Yay! Get rid of your midnight raccoon demons! :D

Hey, Jen. What's this Spa Bathroom all about? What kinds of things are in it? Sounds lovely.

Good Luck with that racoon. They're vicious animals.

T2: Yes still ball-less which I am quite happy about.

Dgillygal: Hi. Well in theory it's supposed to work so why not give it a try. As for being to busy the only thing I can offer as a wee bit of advice is to just try your best to plan ahead. If you know you aren't going to be able to eat lunch or breakfast pack something. When you have it on hand you are less likely to zip into McDonald's or some other naughty place. If your just not finding the time to eat that I think is worse because your mucking up your metabolism. But then again you probably already know all of this

Initial C: Yes Kirsty Alley has the whole Jenny Craig thing going on. Then there is Anna Nicole Smith with the Trimspa crapola.

I know what you mean about Walmart and Zellers not having a lot of choice all of the time. I guess you got to get there at the right times.

Pineola: Oh the spa bathroom. My bathroom is in the middle of renovations. We are taking small bites out of it. As for the decorations. I'm going to decorate in all white accents with a hint of colour. I've got a luxurious white throw towel/carpet, white waffle shower curtains and I've been keeping my eyes open for other stuff too. Our entire bathroom will be done now by the end of august. We put in ceramic floors and the toilet so far. The sink and bath surround will be done next and Bath Fitter is comming to put an acrilic tubliner in and wall surround. Then I will be ablet to have the longest warmest bubble bath ever! I haven't had a bath in over two years (I still shower lol) which will be nice to finally do!

personally I'm not that impressed with Kristy Alley either. According to magazines, she lost 55 pounds or so. Pfft. So what I say. I'm much more impressed with the people HERE at this forum. We're all working, taking care of families. We don't have a weightloss company sponsoring us. We're not celebrities or have oodles of money. We don't have personal chefs or trainers. And yet, we've all lost as much weight as her and some of us even more yknow what I mean?

I couldn't agree with you more! I was more impressed with Oprah when she lost all of that weight on that crazy all liquid diet. That is totally not realistic becasue the second you eat real food you start to gain. I like it here too because when you are here you not only see thier successes but you share in thier struggles and failures too. It is certainly more real here.

Val: I usually try to exercise in the morning. But sometimes I exercise at night or when I get a chanse so I'm not totally on a schedule but I try. Why?

Scarlett: yes I'm doing good in that department. The raccoon is getting evicted!

Reflections:

Well we survived yet another camping trip! I tried my best to have some good snacks on hand with the bad. I will say I wasn't exactly the best behaved this weekend but I did alright I think. I will find out tomorrow. We had such beautiful weather this weekend and when we were leaving this morning it was over cast and raining which made it easy to leave! Oh I also drank about 6 light beers over the weekend which I don't think is to bad. Again I will see what happens tomorrow.

Well I haven't exercised in a few days so I'm going to do some laundry, clean out the camper, shower and do my aerobics. I know it seems weird to shower first but I'm stinky from campfire and I need to wash.

Awwww what a lovely weekend. The legs are still blinding white with a strip of pink down the front! lol

Reflection:

Well I have come to the conclusion that I have not been eating the right amount of ww points. I'm a little confused as to why I haven't been seeing more of a change on the scale and I know I couldn't plateau without really having lost a lot in the first place. I have been exercising more and eating right but I am not seeing any changes on the scale.

I am pretty much finished weaning and my little guy is almost exclusively formula fed now aside from me putting him on to relieve pressure until I have nothing left. So I can safely consume less WW points (the non nursing amount). I've been use to eating 40 points and now I will only be eating 30 which is going to be difficult but I have already noticed that I am not as hungry as I was during breast feeding which will make my journey that much easier. Fighting constant hunger is such a chore. So I'm hoping to see a change. I am so sick of fluctuating up and down between 267 and 270 it's driving me nuts! It would be nice to be able to change my ticker again!

My new Plan:

Aerobics: 5 times a week
Walking: when I can 2 - 3 times a week
Strength Training: 2 times a week

Food: Following Weight Watchers. Consuming only 30 points each day!
Water: Doesn't seem to be a problem anymore continue with drinking all water
Snacking: Continuing to form a new habit and not eat in the evenings.

TO NEW BEGINNINGS!

I've never done WW so I don't know how that system works. Maybe you are just hitting a plateau. Your doing great. Be patient.

I was just asking because when I exercise after I get home from work (5 or 6)- I find that when I'm done I'm really in the mood for a healthy dinner, and then I'm not really hungry for the rest of the night. If I don't exercise at that time- forget about it. I want to snack all night long.

congrats on surviving the camping trip. i'm more amazed u survived the mosquitos. man... they're almost flesh-eating now. last time I went camping, my hand swelled up and became a human balloon. glad you didn't get too many mosquito bites.

and good luck on ur new beginning! :D I'll be watching you missy. and I'll borrow Twinmom's twinny stick if you misbehave. ;)

I'm sure your body goes through a period of not knowing what's going on when you stop breast feeding. Plus add on top of that your reducing your points. It might be confused for a bit. But once it get's adjusted I'm sure the plateau will be busted. (I totally didn't mean to rhyme there).

Just keep it up!!! You will prevail!!!

The Scale thing

OMG!!

I totally do that too!

I get on the scale almost everyday, sometimes multiple times, and if it says I weigh a tad bit more then the first time I stepped on, I go into total freakout mode. I really don't think it's a healthy habit and it's one I'm trying to break as well. Good Luck.

Pineola: Ww points is pretty much counting calories in a different way. When you eat an item you use a thing kinda like a slide rule to determine the points. You use the calories, fiber total grams of fat. For example a banana is 2 points, and a chocolate bar can be anywhere from 6-10 or more points. I am allowed to eat 30 in a day. That is pretty much the just of it.

Val: Good point. Yes I find when I exercise in the evening I do tend not to snack I am more thirsty than ever and I fill up on water plus I know that I just exercised and I don't want to undo all the hard work that I did. But unfortunatly I seem to have more energy working out in the morning but actually now that I think about it I could go for a walk in the evenings which might help!

C: The mosquitos. Actually it has been really hot and dry and the bugs weren't bad at all. The wasps on the other hand were really annoying when we were trying to eat.

Scarlet: You make a pretty good point and that could very well be whats going on. Maybe this new change will really mix things up.

Altered: Yes the scale is my best friend and my worst enemy. It's a constant battle

Reflection:
Well I am doing really good I guess. Hopefully I have this points thing under control! I also had a pleasant suprise today I am trying to start up a little business and I just received an order for one of my items. I am so excited. I know it's just one little measly order but it's an order none the less!

What I did wonderful today:

30 min aerobics
40 min strength training
1670 calories
30 WW points!
All of my water!

I'm feeling pretty good!

What I could have changed

Absolutely NADA! It's a good head on pillow night!

Wow - don't you just love those days when there is absolutely nothing you would have changed - except your sweaty socks after all that working out! :D
