Jay Can Do It! - Weight Loss Diary

I just did my workout today, but this time I put in a lot more effort in the stances. I'm sweating like a pig!

Day 12 - What food plan do you normally follow each day?

In the morning, I make sure to eat IMMEDIATELY (within the hour I wake up if possible) so I can jumpstart my metabolism.

My breakfast consists of a lot of protein, carbs, and fat (but only if I'm craving). Usually I eat about a cup of rice, some type of meat (or meat substance), two eggs, and a serving of vegetables. I usually shoot for a high calorie breakfast - a good, full breakfast would mean less binging and cheating later in the day. I also try to drink at least two cups of water, mostly because I forget and won't hydrate myself later.

An hour later I head straight into my workout so I can burn the calories I just ate.

My lunch is very light - A salad consisting of Roasted Chicken Thighs/Breast squares, Lettuce, Broccoli, Tomatoes, and a One-inch block of cheese cut into tiny squares. I try not to use dressing in my salad.

My snacks are usually fruit (cantaloupes and watermelons are my favorite).

My dinner is the same as my lunch.

I actually cheat every single day - but it's a very small, tiny cheat. I take a serving of something unhealthy (a bag of chips, one donut, etc.). Every time I eat a meal, I would go to my cheat dish and nibble on it. One spoon, one tiny bite, whatever. And that would satisfy my cravings. On average I eat about half a big of chips, or half a donut. I don't record the calories either because it makes me feel guilty, and feeling guilty would backfire on what the cheat is suppose to do for me. I NEVER go overboard: I always lay the cheat dish in front of a mirror so I could see myself nibbling on it. And then I stare at myself eating it. And then I feel SUPER GUILTY and hide it away again. xD

Day 13 - Are you losing weight in a healthy or unhealthy way?

Weigh Day Today!

Last Week I was 216, now I am..

...

213! The last time I was 213 was during Freshmen year. Isn't that great? :willy_nilly:

I am going to go celebrate and cook myself some salmon for breakfast.

I'm a bit bummed because I won't be able to exercise in the morning. I have to go to the local library and do some business, and I won't be home till 5:00PM. We're buying the new Zumba Wii game though, so I'll work out then. Let's see how it goes!

My mom insisted on buying the Zumba Wii Fitness game, so we bought it at Fred Meyers. I just finished trying out.

Wow, I have NEVER sweated so much in a 20 minute duration before. No wonder there is so much hype about Zumba! I just wished that the Wii games was easier to follow; half the time I was waving my arms failing to mimic the neon-lighted dance instructor. Nevertheless, I did move a lot, and it was quite fun! I think I'll incorporate the game into my exercise routine. It's a little too intense for me though, so we'll see.

AIt might be a little intense now, but it will eventually get easier to follow. Most important thing is that you enjoy it, because if you do, you will keep at it for a long time.

Day 13 - Are you losing weight in a healthy or unhealthy way?

Healthy! I'm eating way more whole foods than before, I am more conscious of my calories, I am drinking tons of water, and I'm taking no shortcuts. No fad dieting, just smart eating. My exercises are all very easy, and I plan to increase intensity once my body develops and my cardio abilities become better.

Day 14 - What is your ultimate goal weight/look?

My Ultimate Goal Weight is 140, or whatever normal weight is for a 5ft6 male. I want more definition in my upper arms, and have abs. I don't want to be THICK, but I want to look athletic and healthy. I know I'm a long way from achieving that, but I'm well on my way.

Day 15 - Are you vegan or vegetarian? If so, has this helped you lose weight? If not, would you ever consider turning vegan or vegetarian?
Day 16 - When did you first decide to lose weight?
Day 17 - What is your favourite treat meal?
Day 18 - What food is your weakness?
Day 19 - When is your favourite body part to work on? Why?

Day 25- When you reach your goals, what do you plan on doing to maintain your results?

Day 15 - Are you vegan or vegetarian? If so, has this helped you lose weight? If not, would you ever consider turning vegan or vegetarian?

I am not a vegetarian. Even though the idea seems nice, I don't think I could EVER eliminate meat from my diet. I love my chicken and beef too much to do such a thing

CONGRATS!!! It feels good doesn't ...who knew sweating was something to enjoy!! ;p

(Day 16) Wednesday, October 12, 2011

I think I'm getting used to my diet. I'm having rough patches here and there (especially every time I go out - food temptations EVERYWHERE), but overall I'm eating well. My skin is so much clearer now, and it's not as hard to sleep at night and wake up in the morning.

I went to local library early this week and checked out a book called "The Great American Detox Diet". It teaches you how to Detox your body from all the toxins and preservatives in the SAD (Standard American Diet). It's so easy to read and understand, and it made me realize how dangerous fast food joints and boxed-foods are! I am definitely keeping whole foods in my diet.

Along with my water counter, I added a whole new Goal Chart for myself so I can keep track of my achievements. I already completed two, but it looks like I have a long way to go. :)

(Day 17) Thursday, October 13, 2011

Hey everyone! Day 17 Has started on a very cold and cloudy morning. It's currently 7:44AM and I'm looking at my kitchen at the mountain of dishes my brothers left me before they went to school. I wanted to eat some eggs and chicken this morning but I guess that'll have to wait.

Oh, last night I had the STRANGEST dream. I think for the whole 8 hours I was sleeping, the only dream I had was me EATING. I had a dream that me and my family went to a buffet of some sort and ate an assortment of things. For some reason I skipped the main course and dived straight to the ice cream machine. And then the dream changed - I was pigging out in my fridge eating ice cream, shakes, and a drawer filled with frozen yogurt. It was insane!

Today, my main goal is to walk for 5 miles and then throw in a Zumba Wii Game session somewhere. And I'm STILL trying to get to 8 glasses of water. Eh, we'll see.

Life wise, nothing has really changed in my household. I'm waiting for a mail from FAFSA indicating whether or not I receive some federal support for my college this winter. I haven't started college yet due to financial issues, so I'm PRAYING that FAFSA would accept me and give me at least enough money to start one year of college. I also need to practice driving - I don't want my mom dropping me off to college lol! But for some reason I'm so scared of the road.

Is it normal? Is it normal for an 18 year old to be scared to drive? I feel pathetic sometimes
