Jay Can Do It! - Weight Loss Diary

Carbs, without exercise, turns to fat. It also makes us retain water. Apart from the carbs that we deliberately consume, there are so many hidden starches/sugar in the food that we eat, even in fruits, down to the seasoning and sauces. This affects our weight readings.

When I went low carb, I found that I became less sluggish, more alert....but also I've been getting less sleep causing dark undereye circles :(:( And even right around my monthly, I had no water retention at all, my weight was the same. (not that you have to worry about the monthly bloat haha)

I came back after weeks of not being on these forums. I was about to post my results about my low carb diet and I see this! How ironic =).

So I'm sorry I haven't been here guys. I know a lot of you have probably forgotten about me and think I've ragequitted and gained back all my weight (well, probably not, knowing you guys :D ). Well, you're wrong! I've actually lost a little more since last time.

About a week ago I started this Low Carb diet called Keto. Keto is a diet I had never heard of, but after trying it out for myself I've actually gotten results. I was stuck hovering around 198-200, but now, a week later, I'm 194 lbs.

The thing with this diet is that you have to throw your preconceived notions aside about everything you think you know about food. Especially the whole fat is bad sort of thing, because in the end, it's not. Fat is essential for living! Which is why 70% of my calories are from fat, 25-30% are from protein, and less than 5% is from carbs. Bring on the nay sayers!

Anyway, I just came to update. I'm using MyFitnessPal so updating these forums the way I had in the past seems a bit primitive. I'm well on my way to losing all this weight, albeit slowly, and will get that six pack abs I've always wanted =).

I'm going to drop by some threads and see how my old friends are doing. I hope you guys haven't cracked!
