Jaclyn's diary

Okay guys...get ready with the rotten tomatoes to throw at me...

Well, maybe they should be fresh tomatoes. At least then I can eat them.

First things first, I have not fallen off the wagon-on the contrary, I'm hanging on to it for dear life. I've just been on a very bad bad time schedule.

Renaissance Prose and Poetry was cancelled today, so I woke up this morning around 9 when a friend called and told her I'd call her back and I fell back asleep. Then I woke up at 9:15 to feed the cat. Then I fell back asleep. Then I woke up at 10 to let the cat back into my room, where he jumped on the bed and cuddled with me, so I fell back asleep. Then I stayed asleep until 1 in the afternoon.

Not kidding.

I hate myself for it, because I hate sleeping in. I had big plans to drop books off at the library, to do laundry, to go grocery shopping, and to tidy up all before my 3 o'clock class, but needless to say I was a big fat lazy bum instead and slept. Therefore, I totally missed breakfast. Again. Aghhhh!

Lunch:
2 slices Honey Wheat Bread, 1 slice Provolone, 3 slices Veggie Salami (275)
9 Cheddar Mini Rice Cakes.

So after lunch I went to Scriptwriting, then to Sign Language. Turns out I didn't have to do that Sign video until next week. Oh well, at least it's done. After my two classes it was like, 5:30 and I dropped off books at the library then I went to the gym. 30 minutes on the treadmill. All of the ellipticals were taken, which sucks, because the treadmill makes my ankle swell. After the gym I went to the store and did a huge grocery shop. Got lots of fruits and vegetables, cheese, yogurt, a few frozen things, some diet soda. Good stuff. I also had to get non food items, which always jacks up the bill-cat food, paper towels, sponges, dishwashing detergent, ect. It was $85 all together. Better than I expected actually.

Then when I got home, after I unpacked my groceries I thought "Hmm, now would be a great time to clean." Am I crazy? I think so. So I cleaned the litter box and the hamster cage, vacumned the carpet, swept and mopped the kitchen floor, wiped off the table and the counters, and unloaded the clean dishes from the dishwasher and put the dirty ones in. And I took the garbage out. By then it was 8:30 and all I had eaten all day was my crappy lunch.

So I made a healthy little dinner.

Dinner:
Big Salad with spring mix, carrots, cucumber, baby tomatoes, and a chopped up Morningstar Parm Ranch Chik Patty, with 2 tablespoons of honey mustard. (370)

And a diet Sunkist.

Ugh. Then I finally took a shower, because as you can imagine I smelled to the high heavens. I put a load of laundry in and now I'm waiting to lay on my bed like a beached whale while I watch ER. It's a repeat though, dammit. Eh, I'll still enjoy it.

At least I got a LOT accomplished. I also got my new Nine West purple purse in the mail. $62 bag for $30, thanks to eBay! Wha-hoo. And technically I used recycled money, because I used money in my account from stuff I sold on eBay to pay for it. I love eBay. And I like my new bag. It's pretty and it's nice and roomy. Now I need to find a matching wallet. I also did all of my cleaning while listening to the Ray Charles duet CD he did with a bunch of different artists. It's called "Genius Loves Company." Very good, I highly recommend it. Some songs are better than others, but everything Ray touches is gold. My favorites songs on there are the ones with Norah Jones, Van Morrison, Natalie Cole, and BB King. Check it out if you're a Ray fan.

More good news. I weighed myself at Publix and I'm hovering just around 210. The last time I weighed myself there I was 240. Hard to believe how far I've come. My best friend's mom is also a weight struggler and my best friend told me her mom asked her how much I've lost and when she told her 30 pounds she was like "I'll never catch up!!!" It's all a matter of discipline and being ready though. I started when I did because I was ready. That's all. Healthy eating (on schedule!) and exercise are the only way and I'm so glad I found this forum. :p

fuunky!!! don't be down, i know how hard it is to keep a schedule with school - and look how much you accomplished yesterday. Sleep is not a bad thing - we need it to replenish our bodies, and if you needed to stay in bed that long - your body was telling you something girl =) I'm actually very proud of you =)

I also love Ray's cd!!! I have it and I listen to it while lounging around the house - it is just soooooo wonderful =) I'm glad that you were able to get your groceries. I just got my rent bill in the mail and i don't know how i'm going to pay it and buy food - oh well, i guess that's what my credit card is for. =P (i hate my credit card.. i wish i could make it go away)

Aggh, I don't have any credit cards purposely because I don't want to get used to having them. Isn't the Ray CD great? I love him!

I worked out today-25 minutes on the elliptical, some 10 pound weight reps, crunches, and stretching. Then I had Mexican for dinner. I went pretty easy.

Dinner:
5 Tortilla Chips with Bean and Queso dip
1/2 Bean Burrito
Carrots, Broccoli, Cauliflower, Squash and Zucchini with Queso.

It was all really good, a little treat. Sometimes you have to treat yourself. I've just modified my treat from a basket of chips and dip, a burrito, an enchilada, a cup of rice, and a cup of vegetables, and several glasses of Dr. Pepper to much much less. Yay me!

Man!!!

So yesterday after dinner my stomach felt incredibly heavy and I was really lethargic. I was supposed to do some homework, but after I got out of the shower I just laid on my bed and my cat cuddled up with me and I nodded off. Then my best friend got home and woke up up and she wanted to go to a movie, but I just didn't feel right, so I stayed home.

Then at about 3 in the morning I got terrible heartburn!

This was the worst, I couldn't sleep at all, and at 10 my alarm went off for me to go to work and it hurt so bad I was shaking. I tried to eat some dry Cheerios, but the smell of them was making me nauseous, so I only ate a little. I went to the store and got Pepto Bismol and then I went to work, but it just wouldn't stop hurting. I was at work for twenty minutes and one of the other girls looked at me and told me to go home. So I left and I got home and I got back into bed and it hurt so so bad. I guess I eventually fell asleep, because I woke up at 4:30. The burning was gon, but my stomach felt incredibly weak. I was hungry, so I ate a few things and finally wrote my script. Here's my food for yesterday.

1/2 cup dry Multi grain Cheerios
1 cup applesauce
1 low fat pudding
1 banana
5 crackers
whole wheat english muffin with 2 tbsp apricot preserves

This morning I feel a lot better.

Fuunkymonk, glad to see you feeling better. I noticed how much weight you've lost since I've been away CONGRATS!!! You're doing awesome as always!!

Oh my I am guessing your bean dip did a number on you......remember lots of water witha ll that high fibre!!

Hey sounds like your doing good....missed you guys while I was gone...was so antsie to get the computer back workin so I could be hangin with y'all.
I trying to make my 75 lb goal by the end of this month...we will see what happens!

So you like the ray cd..me too...my new fav right now is John legend,..he is touring with Alicia Keys,..but you of course know that...you like his music?

Jenn!! So glad you're back! You'll totally make it to 75 by the end of the month, you're doing so great.

I do like the Ray cd. I like all of his stuff though. I don't really know anything by John Legend-I did know he was touring with Alicia Keys of course, thanks to my lovely line of work, but I don't think I've heard anything by him. I'll have to download some of his stuff.

Anyway guys-thanks for your well wishes. That sickness taught me a lesson, that's for sure. I'm going to stay far far away from anything that has absolutely no redeeming value from now on (i.e. tortilla chips, even a few of them.) Ugh, that was the worst thing ever. I'm trying to look on the bright side-because I got so sick and couldn't work I was able to get some sleep and I knocked out my entire script last night, which is due on Thursday. And I like it-it came out much better than I expected. I might continue working on it. Maybe even enter it in some contests if I ever get it completely finished.

So, I was a little weak in the stomach this morning, but by noon I felt like myself again. I ate regularly all day. Trained another new person, which is always kind of sucky. He seems like he'll be good, I just hate training new people. I'm a hands on kind of learner and I'm a very fast talker, so I don't make the best trainer in the world, but my boss seems to think I'm good, so she always puts people with me, which is a compliment. But I'd rather just do my work and be left alone to be honest. Anyway, here's today's food-

Breakfast:
Multi-Grain Cheerios with Vanilla Soy Milk and a sliced Banana (260)
Low Acid Orange Juice (75)

Snack:
Low Fat Strawberry Yogurt with Fiber (70)

Lunch:
Veggie Salami on Pumpernickel (210)
Grapes (100)

Dinner:
2 Small (very small) slice of cheese pizza (400)
Salad with lettuce, tomatoes, cucumbers, black olives, onions, and oil and vinegar (75)

Snack:
Cup of Papaya (55)

Dessert:
WW Black Cherry Cheesecake (150)

You know, I felt awful after my Mexican dinner. Since I've been on this forum, sticking to my diet, I have never felt terrible after a meal. I always feel satisfied, I always feel like my food is nourishing my body. Don't get me wrong, the Mexican food tasted good-but when I got home I felt so lethargic and the food was just sitting in my stomach. It felt soooo heavy. It just wasn't worth how crappy it made me feel. Today, I feel fine. I ate how I've normally been eating and I feel good. But man, oh man, did that Mexican make me feel terrible. And to think, that's something I ate on a weekly basis awhile back, and I ate much much more than I had the other night. So weird.

You guys are all great! Thanks for the support!

i'm sorry you got sick! but at least it was only temporary. I'm sitting hereat 4:12 am my time b/c i have far too much to do inthe next 24 hours- i have a 15 page paper to write, class to attend, a presentationton to give, dinner with my mentor from undergrad, meeting with my boss at my non-profit... bleh!!!! As bad as it sounds... I long to get sick so that I could just sleep!!!!

Oh man, Amomono-15 page paper! Yikes. I just finished a 30 page script and an 8 page paper and I feel pretty good about both of them. I'm so glad that the semester's almost over. I kind of know what you mean about wishing you could get sick for some time off-I always think that, but when I get sick it's not worth it.

Thanks Totallyscrappy. It's true, being sick really sucks.

Today-

Egg Beaters (70)

After classes today I took a walk/jog around my neighborhood. Twice! I would run to one speed bump and then walked to the next, and so on and so on. Then I did some ball exercises, push ups, and reps with the 5 pound weight.

You're doing so great! Glad to see you're feeling better! :) It's so nice to see everyone back and posting in each other's diaries. YAYYY! :) Anywho! Keep it up fuunky!
