It Starts...

Yeah protein is just.......protein lol. I use a lot of whey but just because I am lazy. I also like the after work out benefits but as far as a meal replacement and supplement......I'm just too lazy to cook breakfast.
 
I have gone meatless, but recently have begun to slowly eat more meats. I find it to be much easier to not completely restrict yourself from meat, but to eliminate it as much as possible, and to especially stay away from processed meats and red meats. I have kept fish in my diet and eat it daily. It is super low in saturated fats which makes it a much healthier choice. I also prefer the organic meats, because the meat is leaner since the animals are farm raised and have an opportunity to run around. Other options are beans and anything soy. Also protein shakes. But I am not going to sit here and tell you that I don't miss a greasy hamburger every now and then. But having made the choice I have, I am "not allowed" to eat them, so I eat tuna burgers and veggie burgers instead.

One thing to note though. Many veggie burgers have nearly the same amount of saturated fat as regular meat does. I discovered the fish burger yesterday, and for more than half the amount of saturated fat those things are super awesome.

Oh and I recommend trying tofurkey. Deli slices made of tofu that taste like real meat. Can't go wrong!!

WHere have I been! I need to find me a tuna burger. I love tuna! Where did you get it? I will have to keep an eye on the veggie burgers with the fat content.

I am going to go with Adeons advice, and just start cutting out slowly. I rarely eat red meat anymore. Just need to give up the chicken. That is going to be tough.

I love beans though. Boy do I love me some beans! lol I can live on bean burritos. lol

WW has really showed me to look at labels and cut back on protion size. I have found it to be the only thing that really works for me! I couldnt tell you how much I have lost on it, because I have been doing it on and off for the past few years. But I have made up my mind that I am in it for the long haul. 32lbs is GREAT!!! And its so easy!!

I have had ZERO success with trying to go meatless. But I haven't really tired that hard. My co-worker keeps suggesting I just get a vegan cookbook, but I just haven't done it yet. I am just worried that Stephen won't like ANYTHING... he is picky.

So far my week is going good... crazy busy but thats how I like it!!

I'm a label queen now. lol I've always looked, but now I look at different things. One thing I love most is that WW has got me away from high fatty foods. Whew!

Vegan cookbook? Hmmmm.... Why do I always cringe when I hear the work cook? I guess I associate it with waiting and dishes. LOL

I'm thinking I have to start cooking though. I'm going to try to give up gluten, and it's in everything!! No more wheat. I'm sad, but I know it's making me sick and bloated and tired.

I'm glad to know another person on here doing WW. We speak the same language. The language of results and satisfaction! lol

I found my tuna burger at a grocery store. You probably don't have the same store because it's called the real canadian superstore haha. Anyways it was PC blue menu brand. If you have presidents choice brand around then you should be able to find them. If not, just check any grocery store, and I'm sure you'll eventually find one. I've made myself sick of tuna from eating tuna sandwiches everyday for lunch for many months (part of a diet I created), but that tuna burger was sooo tasty!!

Other options are vegetarian chili, seafood pasta, veggie lasagna, etc. You can look online and find some pretty neat veggie sandwich ideas too. Toasted wheat bread w/ olives, light mozza, tomatoes, and roasted peppers and a light ital dressing. Sooo many options.
 
August 8

Just wanted to post one last time before leaving for the Cape. I just finished the academy loop... 3.32 miles in 48 mins!! I am pretty damn proud of myself. I was listening to the Kelly Clarkson CD and I walked only 2 songs and jogged the rest. I really need to work on opening up my stride... but right now I am just glad to be getting the mileage in. I feel okay right now I have a really bad allergy headache, but its already subsiding as I type. I am also enjoying a Protein Shake with some mixed berries. Nice and cold and mmmmm tasty.

I am pretty much all set for the trip I just need to empty the dish washer and make lunch for when Stephen gets home. He decided to go ahead and work this morning since our flight isn't until mid-afternoon. My mom will be taking us to the airport.... I just can't believe its already here!! YAY!!

I will be back late the 16th.... Try not to miss me too much... I will be keeping a hand written diary while we are gone of my workouts and eats. Stephen finally broke down last night and said I could bring a workout DVD... but now I'm not so sure that I want to... I think running and doing body weight exercies will be enough! I even worked out a little mini workout that I can do... lets just hope I find time to do it!!

Anyway, off to get cleaned up! Everyone have a good weekend and week!!! Rock Out and Kick Ass!!!

IM BACK!!!

I just wanted to let you all know I am home from vacation! We had an awesome time, but had to fight the weather the whole way through... needless to say our beach experience was accompained by long pants and hoodies.... but we did get our feet wet!

I was only a little stressed... I was worried about gaining... I know I should have not worried about it... but I couldn't help myself. Stephen finally got almost mad at me so I loosened up. I was positive that I gained like a ton! But was very surprised to get on the scale this morning to find that I lost 2 pounds!!!!!!! I have never seen the scale show below 146 and when I got on it showed 143.2!! I was shocked and was like thats not possible!! But thinking back I really did my best to leave at least 1/2 my plate when we ate out and I made the best choices I could given my options. And we ran all but 2 days... so I guess it wasn't a complete bust.

Today is just kick back for the most part. We are planning on making a grocery list as well as menus for this week... and come up with a weekly exercise routine that is doable. Also Stephen's boss is having a BBQ this afternoon that we will be attending.

I am going to download the pics from our trip and post a few. I hope you all had a good week and I promise I will get to your diary's sometime today!

Aww thanks lady! We did have a good time... very relaxing! I really don't want to go back to work tomorrow.... UGH, but such as life right?
 
Those pictures are nice. It looks more like the cape in October then August. I'm just south of there and we had pretty good weather last week. A couple storms came through but you could watch them heading right north of us. Thanks for taking the hit. :D

I love taking pictures of my vacation because I really like to go back and look at them when I'm needing a refresher. Unfortunately, I'm usually having such a good time that I don't want to stop and start taking pictures of the good time.
