Bikinibounds recipe is probably what I would have said... only if you have enough veggies, I would skip the sauce, veggies themselves will create a bit of liquid and it won't feel dry!

Another thing you can make with just some chicken and some lettuce is a modified caesar salad. Grill the chicken (I have good pans that need no oil... lucky me!), then cut it up into little bits, wash and cut the lettuce throw it all together, instead of the very fatty caesar salad dressing, use a bit of olive oil, salt and lemon juice. Very low cal, the lettuce will fill you up, the chicken will make it yum and you have had tons of veg, some protein! If you feel adveturous you can grill some bread (not much, just like 6 to 8 small pieces) while you grill the chicken and there go your croutons!

I do nto eat a lot of chicken, but do that with fish. Grill myself a piece of fish, make a ton of lettuce and yum!

Another thing you can easily make is ratatouille with anything. You need a courgette, some aubergine, and any other veggie you have around. Throw some olive oil into the pan and some garlic and onion. Then after a few minutes all your veggies and a tin of tomato sauce (or tomato puree, or just use fresh tomatoes). When it is bubbling place the chicken on top, close the lid and leave it to stand for 8 to 10 minutes. Check that the chicken is properly done before you take it off the hob and gobble it all up!

Good luck, Camy

courgette? aubergine? wow i've never heard of those things....

but! the ratatouille sounds easy! I do have a box of noodles, but they aren't whole grains, so I guess protein and veggies it will be. I have some tofu and bok choy in the frig, so I'll probably wait on the ratatouille for a few days...gotta eat the soon-to-be perishables first! thanks for the recipes.

Does anyone else have any recipes? I think i'm going to go grocery shopping next week.

okay, confession i can afford food. good food. i just don't like the guilty feeling of using all of my mom's money....and I'm trying to learn how to save money. (basically stop buying "goal" clothes.....how embarassing....)
but anyways, people, throw out the recipes! I can eat anything BUT liver. and milk or yogurt. sigh* damn lactase...:angelsad2:

Courgettes are zucchini and aubergine is eggplant. Just call me the British/American dictionary..:smilielol5:

Camy is right about the spaghetti sauce having lots of calories--unless you eat just a bit of it or get the lower cal stuff. I like to use fresh tomatoes instead. I'm sure, being Korean, you like spicy food. I buy Indian and Thai curry paste--it's low cal and yummy with veggies/chicken/tofu.

Hey girl,

I'm not sure about THAI curry, but the indian curry comes as a powder, which you can get at any grocery store. My favorite is the Chief or Badia brand. Basically, you can make it into a paste by adding water.

I add some water to it, make it into a paste and then add it to hot olive oil.... stir it into the oil so it heats up all lovely....and then add in your chicken or whatever. There are many ways to do it though. Some people add it to the chicken while it's marinating too :)

Hope this helps! You're doing fabulous with your diet! Great job!

Congrats on the numbers getting lower!

Sounds like you have an awful heavy load with schoolwork. I'm tired with just one major :willy_nilly: Keep up your good work, it'll pay off in the end!

I'll look into the thai/indian curry PASTE....i prefer having a picture of it, but i'll loook, do they sell it at Trader Joe's??

gosh, i hate my flab. I don't have "tight" skin like every other 19 year old girl, so my stomach, after many yo-yo diets is kind of flabby....so my muffin top is there, and probably always will be because my not-so-tight-skin. i love my legs though? no cellulite for me. hehehe. lunges and squats are the trick, GO DEEP!!

RadiantPebble, thanks for stopping by! yeah, i'm having a hard time with my GPA actually, so i'm only taking 10 units this quarter....i have a midterm tomorrow, i BETTER ACE IT.

i think i'll eat an apple on my way to school, salad after discussion, and then an orange after review session. sounds good. =]

Man I wish I loved my legs. I'm not overweight by any means, but I hate my legs. Definitely got the cellulite going on. It is definitely a genetic thing. I do squats, walking lunges, and deadlifts all the time with heavy weights. They definitely could be worse, but still I do a lot of work at the gym and just wish my legs looked a little better. I LOOOVE my arms, shoulders, and back though. They are awesome looking!!

Anyway keep up the good work, and good luck on your midterm. I have a TON of school work to do and I feel like I have no time to do it. It sucks and it's absolutely gorgeous outside today, but I need to make myself go to the library today. No thirsty Thursday for me :(

I would be willing to bet that because a) you're not obese and b) you are extremely young, your skin will tighten up once you get the weight off so don't stress about that AT ALL! Find the positive in each day. You are losing weight and that's good! An old forum member once compared weight loss to a paper towel roll.... You take off one towel at a time and you don't notice a difference in the size of the roll BUT if you are persistant and continue taking pieces off one by one, you will eventually see how small the paper towel roll is getting! One day at a time hun, one day at a time. :)

I wish I loved my legs too! I love my calves! They're the only slim part of me left, I think. You're doing great, just keep it going. I have a problem with yo yo diets too. Not this time, we're doing it the right way!

Gymchica, Paulab, Carrie

thank you so much for your kind words. After consuming that guilty-headache-giving quesadilla, all I wanted to do was confess my feelings on the internet. how lame? psh, don't hate!!! I love this place.

I have to learn how to stop eating. like control eating. When to say "no more"...My whole life can't be preplanned. I have to learn control at a moment's notice.

I just popped open a Rockstar...oh shit, I hope this doesn't worsen my headache. cheers everyone.

I have to ace this midterm tomorrow, no if ands or buts.

The pictures, i think, are better than i thought am. 1) I have rolls 2) I have a large grip of backfat on each side 3) my arms are like 14-16inches, yep, huge. and stretched. ew.

Okay, stop moaning! I have noticed, whenever I jump on the treadmill, I increase the incline, and while stretching yesterday, I noticed my lower abs/lower obliques area is quite tight...maybe that is working out that gut??? SWEEEET!

I've been lucky like you to never have cellulite, either--not even when I weighed 277lbs. My weight is all in my gut and torso. :ack2:

The Indian and Thai paste I buy is in a jar--not a powder. I get mine at my normal supermarket in the international food aisle. I live in the Midwest, in a small town. So if I can find it easily here, I'm sure you can get it in CA. :)

Here's the website for the Thai stuff I buy. They also have recipes.

And here's the website for the Indian pastes.

Sorry to hear you weren't feeling well. Good luck on your mid-term!!
