I'm back! (for good this time)

Ughh I just got done eating a Snickers bar, and 4 more of those chocolate candies, I was really having a sugar craving (haha not like I already got enough sugar). This has been an all around bad food day, I will just have to start fresh tomorrow :)
 
Ok I have one more bad thing to report for tonight. My dad was making a banana split for himself earlier so because I could not resist temptation I asked for a small one myself (like I really needed that) and it had haagen daz vanilla swiss almond and butter pecan ice cream in it, nuts, choclate sauce, and strawberry jam in it. That was SO BAD for me but it tastes so good at the same time. Tomorrow I have really got to get on the wagon again lol.

so you mucked up yesterday? Ummmm... that's fine. hahaa Don't be so hard on yourself. You slipped, so move on. It's as easy as that. :) You've been doing killer with your workouts, watching your food, etc. I wouldn't let one day bother you at all. Just don't go making it a habit, little lady! haha

I'm so glad I stumbled on your diary today. You sound really sweet. I was touched to read about your mother and impressed at how you handled that anger. I've got exactly the same sort of interactions with my mother and I can tell you I would not have gotten over an argument like that without a good chocolate bar! I think our loved ones' support is a prime factor in our success or failure in weight loss, don't you think?

Anyway, it's nice to meet you and I'm glad you had such a good holiday. I hope to hear more of your success stories with overcoming temptation - maybe you'll inspire me to get back on my wagon!!

Hey thanks alot Shinsplint! I'm really glad that you "stumbled" onto my diary :) And thanks alot for your sweet comments, I was definitly tempted to have that chocoolate bar or that bowl of ice cream when I had that arguement with my mom, but luckily I chose to resolve it with her rather than head to the sweet pantry. That took me a long time to figure out, that theres other ways to resolve problems rather than turning to food for comfort. Well now that I'm here I might as well report for the day so far. I'm drinking my cup of coffee as we speak so after I drink it and after I'm done here on the computer I'm headen to the cardio room. My parents are making breakfast today, there will be scrambled eggs, toast, and potatos, I plan on having a little plate of everything not going overboard witht he portions like I did yesterday lol. Then were going to be going out to dinner at a Chinese reataurant called "The Lucky Dragon" for dinner, I'll report on what I have when I get back. And I definitly plan on swimming today, if the pool isn't comletely overloaded like it was yesterday lol. Well thats it for now everyone, have a great day!
 
Whew! I just got done with he torture chamber (cardio room) and it felt really really good today! I did a half hour on the stair machine at level 6 on the hill program, and I also did 10 minutes on the treadmill at a speed of 4.0. It felt really good to workout like that after yesterdays screw up lol. I havn't even had breakfast yet, and the truth is I'm not even hungry (looks like the parents won't be making breakfast afterall, if only I knew how to cook lol) so I'm just going to wait till later to eat when I get hungry. I hope to hear from you guys later!
 
I just got done eating some applesauce and blueberries for breakfast (about 110 cals). I know it's not very much but I just wasn't that hungry his morning (probably because I had enough calories yesterday to last me a long time lol) Lunch will probably be some leftover spagetti with a piece of fruit on the side or maybe even a small side salad. I'll decide when that time comes.

Thanks alot Jenna! And thanks alot everyone...Your support means the world to me, it makes me want to keep on going when thats the last thing I want to do sometimes :) For lunch I had a chicken caesar salad from McDonalds, I had the grilled chicken kind and the only bad thing is I used the whole packet of dressing...oh well not that big of a deal, and I also had some grapes. At 2:00 my family and I are gonna go ride some go Carts and then were going to come back and go swimming, then were going out to dinner at the Lucky Dragon. I'll report what I eat when I get back :)
 
Ok so I just got back from dinner with my family at The Lucky Dragon, and what I had to eat was a small bowl of egg drop soup, and 1 egg roll, and 4 BBQ'd porks with hot mustard (appetizers) and for the main course I had some chicken fried rice, 3 fried shrimp, 2 sweet and sour chicken's (fried) some 'Happy Family" (stir fried chicken with celery, pea pods, beef, shrmp, REALLY REALLY good) and thats it, I know I had a little bit to much fried food but at least I did good at controlling my portions and didn't go overobard with anything. Oh and I also had 1 fortune cookie. I LOVE fortune cookes! There such a cute little cookie thats sweet and crunchy and not bad for you either if you only have 1 or 2! And of course my favorite part of the cookie is the little fortune thats inside it lol. I'm definitly working out in the morning in the torture chamber (cardio room) to work off this feast! I think I'm going to get it out of the way before I have anything to eat again like I did today. I was kind of nervous to do cardio before eating anything because I was afraid that since I didn't have any "fuel in the tank" that I would run out of energy faster, but the truth is it was quite the opposite! I felt absolutly fine working out, no different than if I were to eat beforehand. Well I think thats it for tonight, have a great night everyone!

Hey everyone! This has been a really good day so far. I didn't get a chance to go into the cardio room like I wanted to this morning because my dad wanted to walk to the beach to find some more seashells, so I ended up going with him..It was really really fun though and we found ALOT of seashells! I might go into the cardio room later on this afternoon or later tonight if I can and if I feel like it lol. Were heading down to the beach at 2:00 because I'm going to ride my first horse!!! I'm so exited because I've never ridden a horse before so this will definitly be a fun experiance. As far as food today I've had a small bowl of Life cereal with blueberries, 1% milk and 1 cup of cofee with sweet N'Low. For lunch I had leftover chinese food (the leftover rice and "happyfamily" dish and 1 BBQ'd pork with hot mustard, and I put a little soy sauce on my rice and "happy family".) For a snack I might have some fruit if I get hungry later, and for dinner I think were having breakfast for dinner (eggs, potatos, toast, and some fruit on the side). Overall it's apretty well balanced meal if I control my portions, which I know I will :) Well I gotta get ready to go so I will talk to you all later!
 
Ok so I just got back from riding my first horse at the beach, it was absolutly frickin AWESOME!! When the horse started taking off I was so scared, but 2 minutes into it I was having the time of my life and didn't want to stop riding!! Oh and ummm, after I got done riding my horse we went to McDonalds because my mom wanted a cheeseburger (she loves there cheeseburgers, why I will never know) and my dad and brother wanted a soft ice cream cone and my dad asked me if I wanted one, and because I am such a sucker for soft ice cream I had one :eek: For dinner were having eggs, potatos, and ham instead of bread, so I'll just control my portions on those so my total calorie intake isn't to high because of that darn ice cream cone. I'm to tired and lazy to go into the cardio room tonight but I am definitly going in first thing in the morning even if I have to drag myself out of the bed (which I have to do pretty much every morning lol). Oh and were not coming home from our vacation until Thursday instead of Wednesday, we all wanted to stay one extra day so bad because we love it here and never want to go home :) ao I'll weigh in either Friday or Saturday and I'll report on the damage i've done. I'll probably not loose as much weight as I wanted to because of all the ice cream I've been eating, but at least I've been eating right and exercising everyday aside from all the ice cream, so I'm hoping for at least a 1 to 2 pound loss. I'm gonna really work hard these last couple days before the weigh in, and definitly no more treats for me for awhile!

Horsebackriding on the beach sounds amazing!!! I havn't been on a horse in a long time and that wasn't even really riding it was like at a place where they lead you around.

Maybe the scale will surprise you. You seem like you've been active throughout your vacation even when your not trying to exercise:)
 
Hey everyone! Todays been a really great day! I got up in the morning at 8:00 (of course I had to drag myself out of bed lol) and I immediately went ot the cardio room to get my cardio in. However the bad thing is is that I actually struggled with my workout today. I went on the stair stepper machine again to do my cardio for 30 minutes on the Hills program at level 6, but halfway through the workout I had to stop because my stomach was hurting really bad and I actually felt like I was gonna throw up! I was also feeling really tired to, like really really tired, and I never felt that before on that machine! Then after a few minutes I felt better so I tried to finish my workout, but i couldn't even get through the rest of the 30 minutes because I was just so tired and out of breath! (I think I went at 20-25 minutes at the most)I guess doing cardio before you eat anything really is not that great of an idea because I had no energy whatsoever lol. Then after my workout I had my usual coffee with sweet N'Low and a small bowl of Life Cereal with 1% milk and bing cherries on the side. Then for lunch my family and I had a nice BBQ at the beach. I had a burger with extra lean ground beef, an onion bun, and as for condiments I had mustard, onion, lettuce, tomatos, pickles, and there was also a little bit of BBQ sauce on the burgers. And I had some fat free Bush's baked beans on the side. It was really nice weather and the water was really warm, but the wind was really cold and there were seagulls everywhere! (I made the mistake of feeding them chips before we ate so they hung around me the whole time we were eating! Man my parents were mad about that LOL. Then we came back to the hotel and I went for a swim, I didn't really swim intensely though because there were alot of people in the pool, hopefully tomorrow I can swim without a lot of people in the pool. For dinner I think I'm going to have a Lunchables Pizza and some grapes to the side. I use to LOVE Lunchables pizza when I was younger, I could eat those for breakfast, lunch, and dinner LOL. And there not even bad for you either! There very low in calories because you only get 3 little round pizza's with sauce and cheese (in total it's 310 calories). And they have about 3 grams of fiber and quite a bit of protein. I also checked the ingrediants and luckily theres no junky ingrediants in there (no hydroginated oils, high fructose corn syrup, etc. So I say there pretty "safe" to eat lol. Ok so I'm here to report my sins for the night....Well Istead of the lunchables pizza I ended up choosing to eat some leftover pasta (about a small bowl full) and a small side salad with iceburg lettuce, tomatos, a little cheddar cheese (a few sprinkles) and 1 tablespoon of leftover homeade thousand island dressing. Not bad right? Well heres where the sin comes in...my dad was making my mom and him a hot fudge sundae, and it just looked SO GOOD that I ended up asking for one to... but I asked for a really small quanity and luckily thats what he gave me. He used hhagen Daz vanilla ice cream but he only gave me a tiny scoop, it wasn't even a half cup (which is a good thing because 1/2 cup of that ice cream is 270 cals) and he gave me a little bit of the chocolate sauce (a small spoon full) and he also gave me half of a banana, a few sprinkles of chopped nuts, and a cherry on top :) It was really really small but I still feel kinda guilty for having it because I really have been eating WAY to much ice cream on this trip even though I've been exercising everyday and watching what I eat aside from that. Now heres where the really weird part comes in, I just added up my cals for the day, there all pretty much estimates but I'm sure that there right
170 cals for breakfast
400 cals for lunch
450 cals for dinner
250 cals for the sundae
Thats a grand total of 1,270 cals, right where my caloric range needs to be to loose weight

Now if I were to have the lunchables pizza for dinner
170 cals
400 cals
350 cals
Thats a grand total of 920 cals

So I guess this is a good thing that I chose the spagetti and sundae over the lunchables pizza because then my calories would have been to low for the day? Man this weight loss stuff is very confusing LOL. Tomorrow is suppose to be my day off from the cardio room but I think I'm gonna get up early and go work out anyway since tomorrow is my last day on vacation and I'm not going to see that cardio room until next year when we come again. Of course my dad and I are gonna start going to Bally Total Fitness again as soon as we get home. Man its going to be so hard getting in the groove of strength training again since I havn't done it for a whole week! It's just something I have to work my way up to again, and trust me it is gonna be a pain in the ARSE lol. Well goodnight everyone, you'll definitly be hearing from me tomorrow!
 
Hey everyone! I'm here to report how I did for the day...Well first of all I didn't get a chance to do some morning cardio like I wanted to because I got up later than I anticipated (9:00) and I admit I was just to tired and lazy to go to the cardio room (I've really got to start pushing myself to exercise even when I'm feeling to lazy to do it otherwise I will never get anywhere) Soon after I got up though my dad and I went to the grocery store to buy some things. But before we did that he asked me if I wanted a mocha from Tully's coffee (there coffee is much better than Starbucks! No offense Starbucks lovers!) and at first I said no but he told me he wanted to treat me to one so I gave in of course lol. I got an iced mocha with whipped cream (ouch) and my dad got a hot mocha with whipped cream. It tasted soooooo delicious though! I didn' have anything to eat before that so I counted that as my "breakfast" lol. Oh man it tased so good, it tasted like a chocolate shake with espresso in it (of course thats because of all the chocolate they put it in lol) I have no idea how many calories it was, it was a small mocha so my guess is about 250 to 300 cals? And when we got back from shopping my mom made french toast and ham for breakast, I had one piece of french toast with smart balance butter and Smuckers sugar free syrup, a couple small pieces of ham with a little bit of kethcup (about 1 teaspoon) and a side of grapes. Then for dinner I had a hotdog with sour kraut on a hoagie bun, brautworst, mustard, and a little bit of ketchup (ketchup isn't that bad for you to have right?) 1 tablespoon only has 15 cals and 4 grams of sugar. And I had a little bit of green beans and 3 pear slices. And thats all I had to eat today, I didn't really do any physical activity today, I really wanted to swim but mother flow came to bite me in the butt in my sleep so I couldn't lol. And thats it for tonight, I will post again tomorrow!
 
Thursday, July 26th 2007 (I'm gonna start putting the date on my journal entry's from now on cause there easier to keep track of)

Oh boy did I screw up last night!! I was laying down on the floor watching one of my favorite shows on the food network "Dinner Impossible" and then my dad went to get ice cream from the freezer to finish up (were leaving from vacation today so he didn't want to waste the ice cream lol) and before I knew it the words were flying out of my mouth (hey dad ya think I can help you with that ice cream?) And he was like "Yeah absolutly go ahead" so I definitly helped him out with that ice cream last night by taking way more than one serving (it was hhagen daz vanilla swiss almond, my absolute favorite ice cream!) And if thats not bad enough, I also had one small packet of milk chocolate rasisinetts (my favorite candy) that was 190, not bad if I were to just have that alone! So yeah I screwed up last night big time now I'm kickin myself in the arse for it lol. I really don't know why I do it in the first place, if I ever want to get healthier and loose weight I NEED to control my addiction to sugar! And todays not gonna be a great eating day either, since were leaving today were going to be stopping at Duffy's to eat (the restaurant we stopped at on our way here) and I'm REALLY craving one of there breakfasts, and we all know how much fat and calories that those contain lol. Perhaps I'll just count that as my last cheat meal for awhile, and starting tomorrow I am definitly getting back on track. And also, since thats gonna be my first meal of the day, it all comes down to how well I snack at night. Even if I consume 1000 to 1200 calories in just that one meal, if I have a light snack during the night if I get hungry I won't do to much damage when the day is done. Well I gotta go help the parents pack, I will post later tonight to tell you all how I did!
 
thanks for stopping by my diary. just read some of yours, and boy, we do sound like we are in the same boat and have a lot in common. i've yo-yo'ed in the past, lost weight, then thought i could go back to eating bad (temp change), addicted to sweets, and now realized, that i definitely wanna make this a life change.

anyways, good luck on your last day of vacay. just enjoy duffy's, i say, and when you get back, go right back on track. try to order that breakfast meal, and make it a point to leave bites left.

and regarding your sins, you post....i totally feel like that too, when i eat something i know i shouldn't have or eat too much of something. the thing is, we all fall off our horse, just get right back on. it's easily fixable!!! ttyl!
 
Don't beat yourself up over it.
Think of it as a last vacation Hoorah!!! Tomorrow is a new day and you will be at home. You will have more control over your surroundings and your food intake once you get home:)

I hope you enjoyed your vacation overall... it sounded really relaxing and wonderful.
 
Hey everyone! I'm home from my vacation! Now it's time to start hitting the gym ASAP and it's time to get in control of my eating again! No more ice cream or treats for me for awhile! Hey extreme! Thanks for visiting on commenting in my diary, the more people here the merrier! Well, when we got to Duffy's today I started off by sharing my mom's blue cheese salad with her (I was so hungry because I didn't eat anything before we got to the restaurant and it was 12:45 when we finally got there, and there was ALOT of dressing on that salad but at that time I did not give a crap lol) and the salad was really big so I "helped" her out by sharing it lol. Then for "breakfast" I ordered a taco omelet, oh my goodness it was the best omelete I had ever had! There was ground taco meat in it, plenty of onions and tomatos, salsa, and it was HUGE! I only ended up eating half of it because it was so big, and I also had 4 pieces of sourdough toast and a HUGE portion of crispy hashbrowns with ketchup! I had all 4 of my sourdough toast and I ate half of my hashbrowns, so overall I didn't do terrible but I'm sure it was still a calorie overload. At least I didn't eat the entire plate though lol. Tonight if I get hungry I'll just have a light snack, like an apple with peanut butter and a glass of milk or something. I hope everyones having a great day so far!
