Love reading your diary! Positive thininking is hard. I have trouble with it most of the time. I always say I am optimist but I am just a wannabe. I like what you wrote: "Every day at night I want to start thinking about the good things I have done that day and the things I am thankful for. I may have fleeting thoughts of my failures for the day, but I will focus on the good and make a plan to do better the next day." I need to practice this more!!

Thanks Justina! It can be very hard to stay positive and look on the bright side of a bad situation. I'm trying as much as I can because I know I always feel better when I think positively.

I must admit...I haven't been doing this :leaving: But I will! I just need to remember when I'm exhausted and getting into bed to think of this.

Q: Must be nice. It's funny, I used to LOVE snow...until I started driving, and lived on my own and had to shovel sidewalks and driveways. Then It sucked. At least there is no driveway, the last place we lived had a decent sized driveway and that REALLY sucked.

I didn't work out yesterday, and haven't yet today :( I'm terrible I know. Was at 139.5 today so still doing OK I guess, but have a ways to go to reach my goals. But I can do it! I just have to work on the exercise. I've been doing fairly well on the food front, even with the odd piece of chocolate or some chips or air popped popcorn. It's worse when we go to movies because I'll get Poutine or Pizza and a bag of Candy along with a Coke. But we don't go that often so it's OK. I THINK the interview today went well, helps that I worked at a different location, even though they do things very differently here. Hoping I hear back next week and can start up in December if not before. Starting wage is a little higher than I thought too which is always nice.

Not sure what will be for dinner today, A made shake n bake chicken yesterday and I made boxed potatoes to go with it since we had no real potatoes. May be the same tonight, otherwise not sure what I will make.
 
Just try to make every day better than the last. Try to be better today than you were yesterday. I'm still working on this myself, but it is a great place to start. :)

The fact that I'm still coming on here, and still trying to be motivated and have not given up is a success in my opinion. Usually at this point I've fully given up and gone back to my old ways. But not giving up is not enough. I need to workout, I need to keep trying to eat better.

139.5 again today. NEED to get a workout in today, but it's almost 10AM and I haven't gotten any work done or even eaten anything. So need to eat something quickly and get to work so I can focus the rest of the day on workout and wedding stuff and other things I need to get done. I CAN DO THIS!
 
You can do it!! Get that workout in!

I can totally relate though, I've been sitting here and should be up and doing something.. lol. Good luck getting all your stuff done!

I had trouble this morning myself, I got up, but I still almost said "Meh, after work" and went back to sleep. I knew, if I did that, that I wouldn't go at all. If I am already talking myself out of it at 6 in the am, I will DEFINITLEY talk myself out of by the end of the work day.

I have been dragging my mother to the gym with me for some of those early AM workouts, helps to have someone else holding me responsible to go.
 
It may not seem like it now, but every little thing adds up! And you can and will get there!! :) I'm so glad you haven't given up!!
 
139 today. Back to my lowest which is good. According to the simple weight loss challenge I have lost 5.5 lbs since Sept 23 - 2 months. Not what I wanted to be at, but it's progress!

Thanks for all the support :) It does help, though I still have to work on pushing myself much more. Hoping with the workout challenge I've started I will get to working out again and get into a daily routine. If I get this second job that will get me walking and moving more too which is good. It would also mean I'd have to manage my time better and get my workout in before the end of the day or I won't have the time to.
 
5.5 pounds is great! You are making progress, even finding a workouts that will work for you.

It sounds like you are going to be very busy, but sometimes that almost makes it easier to keep on track. I find that when I'm on a pretty tight schedule, I don't even start to do things that could end up being 'time wasters.'

So sorry that your fiance hurt himself. Hope he heals soon!

Jade: I'm the same. When super busy with tight deadlines I waste less time. Right now most things I need to do dont really have deadlines but I think I need to write it all down and set deadlines for myself and stick to them.

Must start my new challenge off right and get a good workout in today. While it burns less calories I should stick to low impact while I'm getting into it and strengthening my muscles.
 
Wow. 143 this morning. I'm going to chalk it up to fluctuations and the fact that we went to the movies yesterday and I indulged too much on salty poutine and pop and Skittles. Must drink lots of water today, hopefully get a workout in, and hope the scale drops back down tomorrow.

Wanting today to be productive on the exercise front, work front, and personal side as well. So much to do, so little time! So many things that I can use to procrastinate...must...focus...and catch up on everyone's diaries soon too.
 
Poutine is crazy. It's so super redneck of a food and yet it's so Canadian. I've never had it and have never seen it in the US even in Seattle. My Canadian friends assure me it is wonderful. I have dipped fries in gravy with many a chicken fried steak diner however. They sell it at the movies? Does it replace other movie staples? Other than candy most US theaters have popcorn, nachos, pretzels, and hotdogs.
 
I wanna know if you got it at the theater too. That seems odd to me as well. I've never had it or seen it around here, but I would most certainly try it...French fries and gravy? I don't see what could go wrong. haha!

The theater we go to doesn't have pretzels that I know of. Popcorn, pop, assorted candies, nachos, pizza, hot dogs, poutine, fries, chicken nuggets or strips...possibly missing something. LOL. But yes poutine is good! Fries, gravy, cheese. And now they have like butter chicken poutine and chili poutine and pulled pork poutine (which I've never tried because I don't eat pork). All good, but SOOOOOOOOO bad. Every theater though has different stuff. Some are the basics, popcorn, candy nachos. Others have frozen yogurt and pretzels etc.

I didn't have a hugely productive day, did not get a workout in either. Work has been kinda crazy because one lady is off, and the other lady who generally covers for her had her last day today which I found out about 1hr before she left. So now I get to do both of their jobs plus mine. NOT COOL! Kinda stressing a bit and my friend and mom should be here shortly to go shopping as I saw a sari for my wedding yesterday that I'm pretty sure I will buy today. So sucky! Hopefully tomorrow will be better? Just glad it isn't super busy right now or I'd be so screwed.

Hopefully the night is productive with me buying possibly 2 outfits and confirm sash colors for the chair covers.
 
A new restaurant in my town opened recently and serves poutine. Almost all of us in the group had no idea what it was, but my friend whose wife is from Quebec clued us in. It was good! And definitely indulgent!
 
Well done so far Icychic! And congrats on your new low. :hurray: Also, I think I need to visit your local movie theater!!
 
Yesterday:
Breakfast: Corn Flakes and 1% milk
Lunch: 2 pcs toast with peanut butter
Dinner: A&W mama burger and fries
Not the best but thats OK.

Exercise: Nil

Other: I got the PT position at Staples - did I mention that? Start next Tuesday. Just waiting on confirmation that they are able to do a later training for me otherwise I will have to try getting half the day off which could be hard but we shall see. Hope to hear back today again.
I bought a wedding sari yay! Wondering if it's a little too simple but it's more my style than the one I tried Sunday so that's OK with me. Ended up changing my colors once I saw the rest of the sashes. Going with Forest Green and Royal blue. Forest Green is A's favorite color, and while Royal blue isn't my fav, Blue is, and the royal blue goes best with the dark green. Plus it means the chairs are white and blue which brings more of Scotland into it (Scotland flag is blue and white).

Today: Need to get lots of work done and hopefully read up on the orders from the other 2 CSRs and ensure they are all on track. Have a shipment to get ready for shipping today as well and need to ensure all my unread emails get dealt with and my paperwork on my desk sorted.

Also I MUST get a workout in today! MUST!!!

On the bright side, back at 139 this morning, YAY!
