Weight to Lose: 30 Lbs
Target Date: New Years Eve 2013
Plan:
FOOD: Eating 5 smaller, healthier meals a day, including something for breakfast BEFORE I leave the house, and keeping it light before bed. Trying to cut down drastically the junk food I eat and the pop I drink. NO FAST FOOD! If I eat out, I must stick to the salads or other healthy options. Planning meals for the week on Sunday to avoid the temptation of ordering food because we do not know what to cook or don't have the ingredients.
EXERCISE: Working out every day - cardio, weights, Xbox Kinect, Workout videos, for at least 30 minutes. 1-2 days of no or light exercise for recovery.
TRACKING: I will post weekly my weight and how far I have to go. If possible I will post daily about how the exercising and eating habits are going.
I WILL NOT beat myself up if I eat badly, or don't exercise. My reasoning is when I get upset about it, I focus on it, and I give up because I feel I will never reach my goal. I do not want this to happen this time. I will take baby steps and hopefully will be able to resist the foods that are bad for me and stay motivated to do some sort of exercise every day.
REASONS: I am sick of hating how I look and being out of shape and always wanting to cover up and not wear bathing suits or form-fitting clothing. I want to feel good about my body and myself and look good in pictures.
I have a cousins wedding in 3 weeks, friends wedding in 4 weeks, my fiance's company outing in 8 weeks, and my best friends wedding where I am the maid of honor in May 2014. I also hope to get married within 1-2 years and want to look good for that and not be trying to lose weight while planning the wedding. We hope to have a fairly small wedding and I figure if I already like how I look, once we have the money we can plan it and do it in a short time period (been engaged for over 4 years already).
OBSTACLES: The obstacles I have faced before are mostly myself. I also don't like working out with people watching so will be doing all of this in my own home, or walking outside with my dog. With that said I live with my fiance and his brother and refuse to workout when his brother is around because I do not want him coming downstairs and seeing me working out. The plan? Workout in the morning, or in the evening if he isn't home. Asking him not to come downstairs for 30-60minutes, or simply leaving the house and going for a walk instead.
REWARD: I have been told months ago by my fiance and my mom that once I reach my goal I can go on a shopping spree for a brand new wardrobe. While my fiance and I do not have the money, and I don't know that my mom does either, I know together we could find enough to get me some great new clothes upon reaching my goal. I plan to put money aside every pay day as motivation to lose weight and buy new clothes that I like that actually fit right and look amazing. That and knowing my best friend's wedding pictures, and later my own will look amazing is what I'm thinking about to keep me going.
